oh this looks interesting!!
Do you have any pets?
Yes! I have a dog!
Comfort food?
Probably chocolate chip cookies or those microwave Annie’s Mac & Cheese things.
How many languages?
I’m a native English speaker and I’m taking Spanish in school (I’d say I’m at a conversational level). I also occasionally pick up an interest and start trying to learn Scottish Gaelic again.
Random fact about yourself?
I crochet! I started learning about a year or two ago, and now I have…a bunch of unfinished projects. I did make several complete ones though, back in the days I had motivation.
Something you’re proud of?
I’m proud of the progress I’ve made as an artist and musician this year!! I feel like while there’s a long way to go I’m definitely improving.
—>> thank you to @wa3v3y for the tag and for continuing the chain, as well as those who started it!!
—>> i don’t think i have anyone who hasn’t already been tagged due to my inactivity in the past but anyone is welcome to join :)
Get to know me tag
thanks for the tag @honeybewrites
Rules: Answer the questions because I want to get to know you better :D
Do you have any pets?
I have cats.
Comfort food?
Ooooooo…that’s a hard one. Ice cream is always a good choice.
How many languages do you speak?
Native English speaker. Took Spanish in High School, but forgot most of it in the intervening years. I know enough French that I can ask for directions, hale a cab, or order a meal. I know a few words in Latin, German, Gaelic, and Hawaiian.
Random fact about yourself
I enjoy archery.
Something you’re proud of?
Finally getting a WIP done. Always struggled with seeing writing done from start to finish. Now A Feather in the Forest is nearing completion, I feel accomplished.

Hello,,
My name is Ashraf Alanqar, and I am 30 years old. My wife, Widad Issa, and I have a one-and-a-half-year-old son named Bakr. We used to live peacefully in the Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood, in a house we built just a week before the war began. I worked as a farmer and owned a large chicken farm that provided for my family.
Beloved of my heart (Bakr)

Then the war came and destroyed everything. Our home was reduced to ashes, and our chicken farm was obliterated. We lost our home, our livelihood, and even our basic rights. We've been forced to move from place to place in northern Gaza, simply trying to survive.
My House before...

Me.. while trying to recognize what has happened..
Tumblr media
The terror we feel as we flee from heavy bombardment is unbearable. The sound of explosions around us, the constant fear as we navigate through the rubble of destroyed homes searching for safety and food, haunts us every day. My son Bakr is constantly scared and suffers from severe malnutrition and skin diseases due to the lack of food, water, and sanitation.
Our beautiful memories.. :(

We urgently need your help. I am asking for your support to fund this campaign to move my family to a safe place, provide us with a proper home, and ensure we have enough food, water, and medical care.
Baker used to play with his dog.
Tumblr media
Your donation, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in our lives. We desperately need your support and solidarity during this difficult time. Together, we can restore hope and safety to Ashraf and his family.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering my plea. Your support means more than words can express. Together, we can turn a story of loss into a journey of hope and resilience.
With deepest gratitude,
Ashraf & the Family

i feel this so much 😭😭 i sound like a squeaky toy
So I was practicing My Grand Plan from the Lightning Thief because I want to be able to sing it for something and I thought I sounded fine when I sang along to the soundtrack
I did it to the instrumental and youd think I’ve never sang before in my life

perpetually torn between:
taking classic literature seriously and over analysing every detail so that I can deeply understand themes, motifs and references and absorb every poetic quote into my being OR treating classics as if they were just silly little stories about silly little gay people doing the most weird, unhinged and out of context shit ever (which they are)

If you've ever wondered why people in Hawai'i hate tourists, try to wrap your mind around the fact that there are CURRENTLY, RIGHT NOW, tourists sipping martinis and looking at fish within swimming range of the fresh corpses of local people who couldn't escape the overnight destruction of their entire town.
Try to comprehend that there are fully functional, high capacity boats passing through the waters in front of an area full of survivors who are stranded and in need of supplies, refusing to help. They are hosting snorkeling tours.
Really think about, try your best to actually picture over two thousand people unhoused and in need of shelter, with nothing but the clothes on their backs and nothing to return to. Understand that the island, stolen land, is littered with hotels full of air conditioned of rooms with beds and showers and toilets, each fully equipped to host hundreds of families for weeks, turning these people away because they're booked up with tourists who refuse to leave.
And understand that these tourists were offered free transport to return home or be hosted on other islands. Free. Courtesy of local tax dollars. 4,000 wealthy tourists were offered free flights shelter on Oahu and begged to leave the island, BEFORE the survivors were given shelter.
And enough still insisted on remaining and carrying out their vacations that people are left without shelter and resources while they enjoy "their stay in paradise".
[Edit]: This current situation, and this type of tourist behavior is horrifying beyond words. In other circumstances, the tourism situation is much more complicated, and I need to ask that people do not add on to this post unless they are local.

It frustrates me that the animation industry has come to this. Just give people the pay and respect they deserve. Unfortunately for us, however, the executives are too busy being literal disney villains by hoarding all the money and not paying animators and storyboarders their fair due.

do you ever think about how in addition to the horrific number of animals we’re endangering there also might be ones we’re losing that we don’t even know about?? like the ocean is incredibly vast and expansive and our knowledge of it is so limited but we are destroying it all the same. and i just. idk. it makes me sad.
