Icl the whole 20 year break thing in Pantheon is making me fear for the quality of the show in the future 😭
Its so difficult to get long break periods right, and I fear ._.
I love this show so much. Please please please don't drop in quality 🙏 😭

Everyone should really talk more about Oona from Disenchantment because if you really think about it she was one of the very few characters who has been both a supportive person and passed kindergarten in the entire kingdom

Thoughts on the dropped plot point of amity being Liliths apprentice?
The idea of Amity being Lilith’s apprentice had real narrative potential, especially considering how both characters were navigating intense expectations—Amity from her family and Lilith from the Emperor’s Coven. It could’ve been a compelling mirror: two ambitious witches trying to prove themselves in systems that ultimately didn’t serve them.
It did feel a little frustrating how that whole plot point with Amity being Lilith’s top student was quietly brushed under the rug. It had so much potential—especially for diving deeper into the inner workings of the Coven system and showing Amity’s growth outside her relationship with Luz. Instead, the show shifted focus almost entirely to her romance, which, while sweet, kind of flattened the multifaceted character she could’ve continued to be.
The pivot wasn’t bad, per se—but the choice to retcon or ignore earlier dynamics like her apprenticeship with Lilith made it feel like her storyline lost some of its original complexity. It’s like once she started dating Luz, the writers let that relationship become her character arc. Which, for someone as ambitious, conflicted, and driven as Amity, felt like a missed opportunity.
Imagine if we’d gotten even one episode digging into how she felt about Lilith’s betrayal, after Lilith secretly enhanced Amity’s magic during her duel with Luz, making Amity look like a cheater without her knowledge, or reconciling what that mentorship meant to her now. Would’ve added some serious weight to her personal journey.

Yo! I read your reblog of the tag game and I wanna ask... WHAT IS TMOB?! IT SOUNDS SO INTERESTING?
Also, I saw that you're planning to write an essay for Pantheon! Can I request to be tagged when you're done?! I rarely have the time to come here (even though I really want to), but when I get tagged, I can receive something in my email. I'll get to read! And the next time I'm here, I can find it in my notification and reblog and add or respond to it... things like that!!!
So yea!!! Please tag me!
Hiya Lyn!! Heck yeah, I'd be happy to tag ya when I'm done with the essay! It's gonna take me quite a while since it's the kinda long-form literary analysis that I used to do in college, and I currently don't have a lot of free time. I hope it'll turn out well tho!
The other thing is TMoB, or "The Miracle of Backups"—my ongoing Pantheon longfic about an alternate universe where Caspian was rebooted from a backup post-Holstrom battle. It's outlined to cover the entire 20 years that canon has to skip through, but asking the question of "how would things go if Caspian was around?" The answer turns out to be quite complicated, as I'm committed to realism.
It's a work in progress, but if you're interested, you're welcome to read what I have published so far here!

Maybe Caspian assumed that people from the simulations cannot live outside because he saw Maddie put David back into a sim and wiped his memories. Since caspian has a non existent sense of self at this point, he probably assumed that if maddie couldn’t keep her father around outside, she can’t keep him out either or wouldn’t want to put in the effort required to keep him outside.
I have so many thoughts about Pantheon and the ending that I need to be put down like a rabid animal.
Why does Caspian assume that after SafeSurf leaves, Maddie will wipe his memory and “throw” him back into one of the simulations? He sounds so empty and defeated when he says it, as if he’s already accepted his fate. As if he believes there is no way to either permanently exist outside the simulation or that this older Maddie event wants him around. Both options are fucking heartbreaking.
I am unsure if Caspian understands she became a god because of her feelings for him, or maybe he does understand and believes she resents him for his hand in her deification.
There is also the option that Caspian does not believe he can permanently exist outside the simulation, which makes sense since the entire situation, including but not limited to being a literal clone, first death via uploading, second death via Holstrom, third death via virus, final resurrection?, and your girlfriend becoming god - must make your brain ache so hard that smashing it against a brick wall sounds almost therapeutic. However, head trauma aside, I cannot see Maddie Kim, creator of a literal Dyson sphere, as being willing to accept anything less than Caspian being able to fully integrate into her world outside the simulation. Reality and scientific laws be damned.

As a current teenage girl this explanation made me so sad but it’s so true
Seeing/hearing clips of older teenage maddie kim makes me want to start sobbing violently. My heart is in my throat and I feel nauseous. There's something about her character and Katie Chang's performance that takes 'teenage girl saving the world' to an entirely new level beyond her backstory and plot lines. I can't emphasize enough how important the relatable, humanity of her character is in a show who's biggest question is "what does it mean to be human?". I feel like that gets overlooked.
I think that anyone who experienced being a teenage girl and is now an adult has a unique ability to connect with this story and use it to navigate what's currently going on in the world. That's something really special.

Ali Hazelwood's books bring back that comforting feeling of reading a new chapter of a fanfic that was updated.
Yes, I do not care that it is unrealistic. Somehow every main character is a genius. Somehow every love interest is a huge guy, and I love to see it.

GUYS
I’m done with reading the first 3 chapters of The miracle of backups on ao3 and it’s one of my fav fanfics of all time now.
I’m telling you the scene where maddie tries to hold onto caspians uploads hand actually made me sob internally. These two can’t catch a break even in another universe 😭😭😭😭😭

I’m watching disenchantment season 2 for the first time and have somehow not gotten spoiled about this show yet and Elfo is such a GOAT. People might call Elfo a simp (which he is a little bit ) but as I see it elfo is the world’s most loyal friend. This dude dies for the sake of his friends and then chooses to purposefully give up life in heaven to join his friends in hell. What makes this more interesting is that it’s shown that heaven is a place where he is largely accepted since god is shown to favour him. Elfo has been a bit of an outsider almost everywhere during his life and the fact he is willing to give up the only place where he actually fit in for the sake of the people he cares about just proves the fact that he is a goated friend.
