Oh! I love this! NiGHTS was the character that got me into writing fics and drawing art, creating OCs and world-building. I wouldn't be the tiny writer I am today if not for the inspiration this lil fella gave me so long ago. x3 <3

Had a great time modeling and animating NiGHTS! My favorite character of all time! I decided to do a design that's kind of somewhere in between their nid and jod designs. I also had a horrible time getting the skinning to look right on sketchfab. So there are still a few errors. I used Blender for the modeling, rigging, and animation!

Avatar Eyes

An Avatar’s eyes -if visible- take on a color according to a priority list based on their skin at Awakening. The color can be changed due to extraordinary factors affecting the Avatar.

The first check Minecraftia makes to assign an eye color comes from the skin. If the skin has visible eyes with a color, that color becomes the Avatar’s eye color. This can be overridden under special circumstances.

eg/ OG Dream’s eboy skin was what he had on when Awakened. It had blue eyes, so Dream had blue eyes to match the skin.

If the skin does NOT have visible eyes (such as being an item head), the eye color of the Avatar will match their Player’s and will show when the Avatar switches to a skin that has visible eyes to reflect that. This will override the skin’s eye color.

eg/ A Player with hazel eyes has an Awakened Avatar that is usually a cactus in a suit. The cactus has no eyes. The Avatar changes skins to one that has visible eyes, like an e-girl with pink eyes. The eye color will be hazel, like the Player, and overrides the pink.

Eye color changes usually are a result of something affecting the Core File or a major update caused by a drastic change of code. Because the eyes are the window to the soul, changes like that tend to default to taking the color of the Player’s eyes, as a display of the soul-link between Avatar and Player.

eg/ Dream was given an ‘update’ when the Artifacts were put on him to seal Herobrine, which involved Minecraftia locking away the eboy skin he’d been Awakened in and translating the green skin into its place. Since the green Dream skin has no visible eyes, Dream was given the same green-hazel color as his Player.

Minecraftia currently doesn’t know what to do with an Avatar who gets a major upgrade but has no soul-link.

Quick clarification: it’s the skin the Avatar was wearing upon Awakening that sets the abilities/skills installed into the Story File. Changing skins, texture packs, resource packs, data packs, etc doesn’t alter the native skills from their lore. Data packs might add new abilities but those become part of the Base Files since anyone can make use of data packs and the like.

A skin change is like changing an outfit, if physical appearance is also an ‘outfit’. Like if an Avatar who was Awakened in a creeper skin and had the ability to explode like one changed to a regular e-boy skin, they’d look like a Player-Type Avatar, but would still be able to explode like the creeper they originally had lore for.

Avatars have 3 major sets of files that make up their being; the Base Files, the Core File, and the Story File.

Base Files contain all the translated mechanics of the game and are generally the same across the board for all Avatars. It includes things like the ability to use chat windows, interface screens for crafting and using chests, the hotbar and status bars, voice chat, etc. It also contains the parameters for the basic pool of energy that each Avatar uses to sustain life functions and has enough emergency reserves for some special skill use. It’s not recommended to use too much as it will drain rapidly and risk the Avatar’s life.

The Core File is the soul of an Avatar, the thing that makes up who they are. It contains their memories and personality, and it holds a fragment of their Player’s soul to link back to the source an allows them to gain energy from their Player. The greater the sphere of influence the Player has, the larger the pool of energy the Avatar has to use for special skills and abilities. A Player’s soul has a limitation of having two Awakened Avatars anchored to them, a Main and an Alt, each with their own pool of energy to use.

The Story File contains an Avatar’s lore and is the thing that makes up what they are. A revelation from The Syndicate’s Nightmare leads to a new strategy, seen from Dream’s POV.

Walking away from the Commune after installing the tether to Nightmare and handing over the new Artifacts to Techno and Ph1LzA, Dream ran through his thoughts, making more connections as pieces of the grander puzzle began coming together.

Four strains. Not three.

"I thought he'd only have three, but based on what Seto said.. and this just confirms it," he muttered to himself. Four strains of viral coding, or rather the flags for them, all displayed in Nightmare's files, woven together in a fusion of code that coiled around his Core File in an ouroboros chain.

The God Strain.

"That's incredible. Sapphira probably doesn't realize what she created," Dream mumbled, "If she was trying to make a Perfect Vaccine to neutralize all strains of the Herobrine Virus, she would have tried to put as many different strains together in one body to test on." And she only had access to what was stashed in Seto's lab in Sky Capital as well as what was already in Dream's body back then; would she have come after George and Sapnap to steal their upgraded viral coding as well?

Something about that seemed to want to click into place, another piece of the puzzle, but what was causing that red flag warning in his head? Besides the obvious, of course.

The crunch of snow a short distance from him pulled his attention from his thoughts and Dream looked up, eyebrows raising at the sight of Punz approaching through the forest of spruce trees. "Punz? What are you doing here?" he asked in confusion.

"Was gonna see if I could sneak in and grab some honey bottles, but I guess Techno's home now," Punz replied, shouldering his axe and rubbing his head, "Guess you came from talking with him about something?" Dream nodded and the other blonde hummed, thoughtfully, eyes darkening as a frown crossed his face. "Hey, have you been.. feeling odd lately?"

"Odd?" Dream echoed with a tilt of his head, "You mean, like, odd as in you ate something weird and it's messing with your stomach? Or..?"

"Like I'm getting a feeling like if I want to figure out shit beyond me, you're the way to go to do it," Punz said with a faint scowl, "A path to power, and you're gonna lead me there."

So, it’s been a while since I posted here, as usual. Did a bit of cleaning up of the blog’s menu of items since the theme’s code broke a lot of stuff I set up years ago. Typical of tumblr, y’know?

Did some updating on the IoM Fic Masterlist, which has been renamed to WoM Fic Masterlist. Originally, the AU I had created was just called Infection of Minecraftia, but as I built on more arcs with their own names and expanded the world with new places, new characters, new plots, new regions, new mechanics, etc, I realized that Infection of Minecraftia was too small for it all.

So the AU is now called World of Minecraftia, with the arcs within it still keeping their names: Infection of Minecraftia, Restoration of Minecraftia, and the now current age of Corruption of Minecraftia.

I’ve also been posting my fics on AO3, so links to those stories are provided in the masterlist. What was originally posted on Tumblr will stay there, but from here forward I’ll be posting links to new chapters and fics on AO3. Rest of the time, I’ll probably throw my world-building thoughts here.

Is that something y’all would like or mind? Figured it’d be easier on your phones rather than risk breaking it if the Read Mores don’t work. lol

Good lord my follows are a mess here. Stupid bots are clogging it up so I’m gonna have to do some cleaning.

Edit: Oh good lord, I’m going to have to do so much cleaning, the character bios are years out of date. LITERAL YEARS! How the hell did I let this place stagnate for a whole ass decade? Oh my god, it’s like walking into my animal crossing house and seeing the place covered in roaches, ewww, filthy~~~

Gotta reorganize to bring the TeamCrafted info up to date with their current character standings and add in the new stuff for Dream Team since the story’s transitioned to them for the new Era. Accck I’ll do it after I finish playing Genshin. This is what I get for just posting new chapters and then leaving again without actually paying attention to stuff until the Muskrat started messing with twitter and ppl are running back here.

Dream Songs Page

It took me ages but I finished at last!

The current iteration of all the songs Dream (and relevant parties) can sing to grant effects to other Avatars, replacing the Sky Songs that no longer work due to lack of faith and trust Sky and the Free Avatars have in each other.

This is just what’s available currently. Might add on if other songs that could be useful show up. Yes, it’s very Derivakat heavy but can’t be helped. She made the bulk of the DSMP-centric songs, and the boys tend to sing those most and have ties to a lot of them so they got tossed in.

Working out the abilities was the real headache, so hopefully there’s decent balancing for them.

In regards to today's threads on twitter

I've said before how the Avatars of the IoM/CoM AU are separate entities from their Players, with their own identities, personalities, etc independently developed by me with just some inspirations from the content creators named and with no input from said creators.

In light of what was exposed on twitter regarding Adam, I'm reminding everyone of that here and anywhere my fanfics/fanart is posted. SkythekidRS the Avatar in this AU is a character built with a personality I've given him with just inspirations from the persona of the past, even down to having different pronouns from Adam.

What their victims have gone through has been horrific, and I hope that all those who have been affected and hurt are now able to find closure, find healing, find justice even. This has been a painful reminder that we don't ever truly know internet celebrities, that how they present themselves to us, the audience, is not always the whole truth of the person when the camera is off.

I've always said I've been a fan of Sky, not of Adam. In retrospect, perhaps I was more of a fan of the Sky I created for my stories than of the persona that content creator put on for their videos.

Take care, everyone, and be kind to yourselves and others. We're all part of this world together.
