UPDATE: Food Packages!

Hussam managed to put together 150 food packages with feta cheese, halva, biscuits, sugar, salt, yeast, cooking oil, tomato sauce, and canned legumes! He also put together another set of 200 vegetable packages.

Thanks to all your help, Hussam’s able to put together packages like these to feed the people of Gaza in the midst of such a difficult time! There’s a special message in the video to everyone, so please take the time to watch it!

How long did it take for you to work on Lawrence and Toni?

for the film, about two years . the first year was dedicated to figuring out the story, making a script, getting voice actors and composers, making backgrounds, doing visual development, storyboarding and creating an animatic

the second year was all about animating, rough and clean, coloring, making last minute tweaks and editing

as for their complete stories and arcs im still working on it :•)

what was the original inspiration for them? what visuals, aesthetics ect do you associate with either of them? who is easier to draw!

- not sure what the original inspiration but a lot of it is from mr rogers and sesame street! the stories they told and also what went on behind the scenes was very influencing. soul train and electric company were two huge visual inspirations for the show aspect of my film, the rest was inspired by Akira, Lain and a lot of 70s photos of New York pre gentrification, along with space age technology

sorry i'm editing this now because i misread-- visually, with lawrence i associate with colder, more depressing landscapes and more bleak atmospheres (not just bc of his backstory but also his personality), and toni's visual aesthetic to me is obviously more bright and lively, but very grounded and human, like a cityscape .

i kept it vague in the short film bc what mattered most was lawrence and tonis relationship but because im planning to do more stuff w them, yes

When did you first create Lawrence and Toni? The characters themselves? I just wanted to know if you've had them for a while or made them specifically for the story!!

i made them way back in middle school, but i came up with the story around late 2022 early 2023

From what I can gather from this drawing (IT'S MADE BY @sweaterface BTW‼️), the world got cut in half and it definitely harmed some people. That's probably why most of the producing team at EWLAT had scars, because they were affected by it

(I'm gonna assume this is canon for now, although the disaster thingy probably would change in the future) (Also this drawing shows up at the end of the film)

Never forget that this would not be happening had Biden reined in Israel in October '23 instead of giving them a blank check to attack anyone they please. At the very least there should have been consequences for Israel bombing an embassy.

Instead Biden promised iron clad support for Israel. We're now facing the possibility of a huge regional war that will devastate the lives of tens of millions of civilians in West Asia
