Not dead!
Sorry for the lack of posting! Most of the staff has been working hard on exams and final projects, so we havent been able to work as much on Burned Embers as we would have hoped.
However, since exams are finally over, we now have lots more time to work on it, so expect more from us soon!
To make up for it, heres a WIP drawing of Splitpaw.

Happy Pride Month!

Hello! Happy pride month to the LGBTQA+ community!
In celebration of pride month, we are opening up pride icon requests! Currently most of the characters are LGBTQA+ (Straight cats? Never heard of them), and if enough people want an icon we will post a list of what everyone's sexual and gender identities are for reference. We will also do canon warrior cat characters too, with any pride flag you want! If we get anything wrong, or use an incorrect flag, please let us know so we can fix it.
Once again, to all the lesbians, gays, non-binary, transgender, and agenders (with or without dysphoria!) people, pansexuals, bisexuals, demisexuals, asexuals, aromantics, androsexuals, genderfluids, genderfluxes, fluidfluxes, gynesexuals, and all other LBGTQA+ people i may have missed, happy pride month, and remember yall are valid no matter what anyone says! ❤️💛💚💜💙

Staff Introductions!
Scatter/Yamiyo

Hello! Im Scatter (Also known as Yamiyo and Sil), and the main owner and creator of burned embers! Im the one who does most of the writing and drawing of the game, as well as all the coding. I started this game as a idea id probably drop within a week, but after a while it turned out it was a really good hobby to do in my spare time (and yes, 1 am in the morning counts as 'my spare time'). My preferred pronouns are they/them, and ill mostly be the one answering any asks, unless directly targeted to one person.
Raggs/Mothman

Hey im mod mothman (though sometimes i go by raggs or oto) and i was contractually obligated to make a bio. i help with stuff like fleshing out the story, or just with general things the creator of burned embers needs at the moment. my preferred pronouns are she/they and i also do art and cant spell. my tumblr is @thevoidvessel because hollowknight is cool
Falco
hI, im Falco and I make some music for the game as well as provide dumb ideas that probably have no plot significance. my preferred pronouns are he/they tho any pronouns will work! im an artist, writer, and a dumbass, and i cannot spell. my tumblrs r @sylvesterinos and @alistaire-m! that about it

Lionfur, Vinestrike, and Leafpaw
In whichever clan Wisp decides to warn first, and subsequently joins, there will be three characters for Wisp to recruit into their party. Usually the player must unlock a character first through story or quests, but these three will always be available for joining the party. Each clan's three will be revealed one clan at a time, starting with Shoreclan!
Vinestrike is a tortoiseshell trans tom who joined the clans at 7 moons of age. He originally was born into the Empty eyes and got training there as a result, and by the time he joined the clans he only needed two moons of training before he got his warrior name. During his short training period he became close friends with Lionfur and Leafpaw, eventually relaxing around the clans and becoming quite chatty. He welcomes Wisp and Adder with open arms, being one of the first to meet them. Rumors have it that Vinestrike can be seen sneaking through other clan's territories, but all accusations have been shot down by alibis given from Leafpaw and Lionfur. His class is the Ravager subclass, using quick and dirty tactics to damage enemies effectively. However, repeated use against clan enemies will lower reputation and relationships, as its seen as less honorable.
Lionfur is a orange she-cat who recently became friends with Vinestrike, and is close friends with Leafpaw. Lionfur and Leafpaw trained together, but after Leafpaw failed the fighting part of the warrior exam, Lionfur became a warrior at 10 moons old while Leafpaw continued training. Lionfur is a sharp tongued she-cat who often doesnt know when to stop her mouth, and can be a bit over protective of her friends at times, while at others can often forget there may be repercussions for her actions. Shes less open to Wisp when they join, but Leafpaw and Vinestrike manage to bring her around. Lionfur is the Fighter class, a class focused on damaging enemies and taking damage away from others.
Leafpaw is a extremely small brown and white tom, who, despite his appearance and size, is 9 moons old. He's quick to act on instinct and often rushes too fast into things, and hates direct conflict with others. He dislikes claw to tooth combat and often likes attacking from above in the trees, but due to Shoreclan's territory its nearly impossible to do this correctly. It was because of this that he failed the fighting part of his warrior exam, and is working with Embersight, his mentor, to get used to normal fighting. Most have noticed that he gets extremely flustered and jittery around Vinestrike, but since the tom has yet to notice Leafpaw's nervousness, no one has brought it up yet. Leafpaw is wary of Wisp, but after seeing Vinestrike welcome them quite openly he decides to trust Vinestrike and welcomes Wisp as well. Leafpaw starts as the Dropper class, a ranged class that attacks from any nearby elevation and grabs onto an enemies back before jumping off, and when he becomes a warrior is able to change classes to Clinger, an advanced Dropper class that can now apply various debuffs to enemies while holding on, the Drowner class, a shoreclan exclusive class that focuses on water based attacks such as drowning an opponent or hiding underwater, or the Impailer class, a class that uses branches and sharp objects to damage their enemies instead of normal claws and teeth.

Map of the Island
The island is heavily based off of Flowerpot Island, although in the game is called Ember island. The clans call it Starfell island, and the island from one end to another is about a hour walk for the clan cats.
The Clans
The island, while small, hosts six groups of cats that all live on the island in relative peace. These groups are Barkclan, Mossclan, Shoreclan, the Frostwalkers, the Nightinggales, and the Empty Eyes. In the game, the player can choose which clan to warn first about Glade's raid, which determines which clan Wisp will join. It is impossible to join one of the loner groups currently, but plans to have party members from the loner groups have been made.
Barkclan
Barkclan is a large clan that lives within the forest of the island, and has claim to the largest amount of territory. Barkclan values honor and fighting, and believe that starclan is a place where one can fight proudly and never tire, and serve their clan even after death. Each half moon they hold a tournament, where the victor of the tournament will be granted one wish, as long as it doesnt conflict with the warrior code. Typically younger cats wish for things such as a day off hunting and training or the first pick of the freshkill, but older cats will ask for specific kits to mentor or permission to visit the Star Crystals, the islands contact point with starclan. The losers of every match gets a scar, not as a thing to be shamed of, but something to remind every warrior in the clan that even the oldest and strongest warrior hasnt been always all strong and powerful. Its extremely rare to see a barkclan warrior without at least one scar.
Mossclan
Mossclan lives on a old hiking trail that became too dangerous to keep open, due to the fact that moss had begun growing on the rocks and making them slippery. Theyre known for being large cats built for climbing, and are famous for the large stone bridge that rises high into the air they love to sunbathe on. Apprentices arent allowed to climb any higher than the camp to avoid accidental deaths, and they punish apprentices harsh if theyre caught doing so to avoid anyone following suite. Their medicine cat is highly respected, as theyre one of the only cats that have knowledge on how to plant and grow herbs.
Shoreclan
Shoreclan is the smallest clan, cat and territory size, and are seen as lazy for the ease of prey catching. They live in the beach around the island, hunting sea birds and fish and during the colder seasons hunt in the forest. Theyre the only clan with two deputies, and when the leader dies the clan casts a vote on who becomes leader. This was done after Screechstar passed away, and the deputy died on the way to the star crystals, leaving the clan leaderless and deputyless.
Loner and Rogue groups
Nightingales
The Nightingales are an unoffical fourth clan of sorts, and work with the clans to help lost kittypets be reunited with their twolegs. All kittypets found on the clan territories are to be escorted to the Nightingales, who will take care of them as best they can. Whenever a kittypet cannot be reunited with their twoleg, they offer to take them in, or will ask one of the clans to take them in. Sometimes kittypets will willingly stay with the Nightingales and abandon their twolegs, but this is quite rare to happen. The Nightingales are allowed to participate in gatherings, and are treated with the same respect as a normal clan is.
Frostwalkers
The Frostwalkers is a small group of cats brought together for the simple goal of survival. Shelter is provided for every cat, although hunting and other necessities are not. Recently a cat with medical knowledge named Lark joined, and provides healing and herbs, making the Frostwalkers a much more tempting group to join for loners and rogues.
The Empty Eyes

A group of kittypets, the empty eyes are a group of about a dozen cats all being taken care of by the twolegs on the boats that transport campers to and from the island. While seen as pampered and lazy, they also are quite feared because they can easily alert the twolegs to a cats presence, and have threatened to show the twolegs where the clans live. They transport goods from the mainland to the island, and while no one likes to talk about it, the island doesnt naturally grow enough herbs to support three clans, so the Empty eyes supply the clan herbs in exchange for various things, such as territory and prey. The Empty eyes are split into two groups- The Jades and the Owls. The Jades are the ones that collect and transport the items from the mainland to the island and back, and the Owls are the ones that protect the Jades while they do this. Each group has a leader and an oracle, who have a simple relationship. The Oracles create fake omens and prophecies to suit the leaders needs, while the Oracle has free reign and freedom in what they do, as it considered an offense against their goddess, the ocean, if one is to prevent the Oracle from doing something.

So you're just the writer? Not the game maker?
I myself am the game maker and artist, and the writing is sort of a combined effort. We have three people other than me who are working in this game, who will be joining this blog and will be able to answer questions soon. An introduction post will also be made for each of them, explaining who they are and what they're working on in the game!

First screenshot of the game! This scene plays when Wisp first meets Splitpaw, and was the bane of my existence because i didnt know how to draw Wisp's expression so for most of the drawing it was put as this

Main Characters
There are four main characters of Burned embers- Wisp, Adder, Splitpaw, and Glade. This post will give a quick summary of each character, as well as who they are.
Wisp

The main character of the story, Wisp was abandoned by their twolegs as a kit and found by Adder. They grew up rather sheltered, and are a chipper and playful cat, although hate fighting and bloodshed. Their personality is driven by the players choices and decisions, ranging from a pacisifistic healer to a dense fighter to one of the bad guys. Wisp is 7 moons old at the start of the game, and ages as the game continues.
Adder

Wisp's mentor and guide, they stick by Wisp and support them throughout the game. Hes a calm, collected, and sometimes playful tom, and will protect Wisp with his life. Theyll always support their decisions, and trust in Wisp completely. He found Wisp when they were 2 moons old, and took them in and protected them. The two lived alone for a moon, before Adder made the decision to leave his old loner life behind and join the frostwalkers in order to keep Wisp safer.
Splitpaw
A starclan cat that contacts Wisp at the start of the game, Splitpaw is a nervous and usually shy tom, who by the time the game starts has become more expressive. He claims to have never died- despite the blooming branch he has impailed his chest from time to time- and has memories of his life up until he discovered a collapsed tunnel and began digging it up. The only thing he remembers afterwards is a name- Shardpaw.
Glade

Leader of the Frostwalkers, Glade is the 'main villian' of Burned Embers. Emotion driven and kind of heart, Glade often is seen going out of his way to help injured cats and hunt for others. For Wisp, it was devastating to see him resort to having to raid another clan, although Wisp knew they had to stop it. After the attempt on the raid, Glade went into hiding and secluded himself, and ever since the Frostwalkers have been in a tight spot, with food and resources slowly growing sparcer.

Burned Embers
Hello! The first post will be an explanatory post, describing the game and the concept before any of the game posts begin.
Burned Embers is a Warrior cats fan game set on an island based off of Flowerpot Island, with three clans and three rogue and loner groups. The game currently is set towards an two hour long story mode, minus random events, random battles, and optional content. Burned Embers is in a point and click choose your own story fashion, along with battling, relationships, and class and leveling systems, with multiple endings and various achievements. The goal for the end of the game is to have 15 interactable cats in each clan, 7 in each loner group, and at least 25 random event characters and npcs. This totals out to just over 90 npcs, not counting background characters or main characters. The game features an LGBTQA+ cast, with the main character, Wisp, being pansexual and nonbinary, and various trans characters and gay/lesbian/bi/poly relationships, and of course, romancables. The game also has elements of @official-darkforest's second death au, so please check them out as well!
The three clans are Barkclan, Mossclan, and Shoreclan, and the three outside groups are the Empty eyes, the Frostwalkers, and the Nightingales. All these groups and clans will be further described in another post.
The game follows Wisp, a member of the frostwalkers who was adopted and raised by Adder, a loner who got attached to Wisp when they were a kit. Wisp gets contacted by a starclan cat named Splitpaw, who claims to have never truly died and has lost all his memories after discovering a series of collapsed tunnels. Wisp promises to help Splitpaw, who tells them to ask the Frostwalkers leader to see if he knows anything. Wisp wakes up in the middle of the night and goes to talk to Glade, the leader, when they discover that Glade is planning a raid on the clans. Wisp and Adder leave and warn one of the three clans, and after warding off the threat the clan offers to let Wisp join the clan. The game goes through Wisp's life as they attempt to help Splitpaw find out what happened, as Wisp gets used to their new life in a clan.
