Main Characters

There are four main characters of Burned embers- Wisp, Adder, Splitpaw, and Glade. This post will give a quick summary of each character, as well as who they are.

Wisp

The main character of the story, Wisp was abandoned by their twolegs as a kit and found by Adder. They grew up rather sheltered, and are a chipper and playful cat, although hate fighting and bloodshed. Their personality is driven by the players choices and decisions, ranging from a pacisifistic healer to a dense fighter to one of the bad guys. Wisp is 7 moons old at the start of the game, and ages as the game continues.

Adder

Wisp's mentor and guide, they stick by Wisp and support them throughout the game. Hes a calm, collected, and sometimes playful tom, and will protect Wisp with his life. Theyll always support their decisions, and trust in Wisp completely. He found Wisp when they were 2 moons old, and took them in and protected them. The two lived alone for a moon, before Adder made the decision to leave his old loner life behind and join the frostwalkers in order to keep Wisp safer.

Splitpaw

A starclan cat that contacts Wisp at the start of the game, Splitpaw is a nervous and usually shy tom, who by the time the game starts has become more expressive. He claims to have never died- despite the blooming branch he has impailed his chest from time to time- and has memories of his life up until he discovered a collapsed tunnel and began digging it up. The only thing he remembers afterwards is a name- Shardpaw.

Glade

Leader of the Frostwalkers, Glade is the 'main villian' of Burned Embers. Emotion driven and kind of heart, Glade often is seen going out of his way to help injured cats and hunt for others. For Wisp, it was devastating to see him resort to having to raid another clan, although Wisp knew they had to stop it. After the attempt on the raid, Glade went into hiding and secluded himself, and ever since the Frostwalkers have been in a tight spot, with food and resources slowly growing sparcer.

Asterpaw and Splitpaw saw their fair share of winters - but usually, they had just stayed in the barns. Going down snow-covered rocks is a bit nervewracking, but Houndpaw and Parrotpaw are making sure they don’t slip!

I can’t find who requested it but someone asked me to do the bee duo and michael, since I’ve already drawn Tubbo here’s Ranboo and Michael as splitpaw and squealkit.

Splitpaw has been recovering from the affects ex-leader dreamstar had in him. Him and wasppaw were on a territory patrol one day when they happened apon a small, half blinded kit. Of course the kit is staying in the nursery den, but splitpaw and wasppaw pride themselves on being phudo-fathers to the kit in their spare time. Splitpaw is often compared to sootsong because of their shared tall stature.

More about my DiD cat oc. She was named Darkkit for her dark coloration but, after she began to show signs of DiD, her father requested she be named Splitpaw since she was split off from the clan. Everyone tried to get the med cat to take her as an apprentice but he refused, saying she was destined for aomething else. So, she grows up with a few different alters (no names decided yet) and the med cat has to fake a propechy about her to get her AND the alters warrior names. Her father is not happ

Splitpelt was born to two cold parents. They considered him cursed due to his unusual appearance, and the fact that all his littermates died at birth. He grew up resenting both his looks and those around him for shunning him. As he grew older, he learned to lie and sneak his way into getting what he wanted. After twolegs captured the small group of rogues he was living with, he went to join the clans. Not many trust him, as he can be extremely shifty. Fallenstar allowed him to join because she felt pity for him.

Born as Icekit in the harshest leaf-bare the clans have ever seen, his mother tried desperately to feed all her kits, only to have Crinklekit and Softkit die from malnutrition. In her despair, Swanleap blamed young Icekit and took him out to die in the cold. When he didn’t freeze to death, she grew angry and started attacking him until his father, Stoneleaf, followed them to where they are. He attacked Swanleap, giving Icekit the chance to escape, effectively killing his mate in the process. Icekit was found by Autumn and Ferret, who cared for him and raised him with Lilac and Birch. They raised him as Ice, and was very supportive of his curious nature. They answered all his questions about the Clans and his former family as honestly as they could. After Ferret died from an attacking patrol from StreamClan, Ice told his family that he needed to go ask StarClan what he needed to do. Autumn agreed, saying that she hopes that he gets answers soon and that she will always be proud of her son. Ice goes to the Moonrock and asks his ancestors what he should do and they tell him he needs to do what he believes is noble and grand. When he goes back to his family, he meets Losteye, a tom that was abandoned as an apprentice for his missing eye and has been living as a strong rogue. Ice realizes what he needs to do, and asks Losteye if he’d be willing to create a Clan of misfit and disabled warriors. Losteye fulheartedly agreed, wanting to prove that disabled cats can still be warriors, and they set off to gather cats looking to become honorable warriors. He dreams of a StarClan leader, who was proud of his destiny and gave him his warrior name Shatteredice. He recruits Limptail, and soon after a young kittypet who he later names Splitpaw. Soon rogues, loners, and abandoned cats of all sorts of uniqueness, went to search for Shatteredice. Once he and his warriors have set down borders, announced their Clan at a Gathering, and created their camp, Shatteredice went to the Moonrock to get his 9 lives and leader name, Shatteredstar.

Curlpaw: being good at climbing and jumping would lead me to think that this cat has excellent balance. So, an agility-based suffix would be suitable.

Splitpaw: nothing really jumps out at me. Maybe, maybe -storm, but that’s about it other than -fur/-pelt.

Burned Embers

Hello! The first post will be an explanatory post, describing the game and the concept before any of the game posts begin.

Burned Embers is a Warrior cats fan game set on an island based off of Flowerpot Island, with three clans and three rogue and loner groups. The game currently is set towards an two hour long story mode, minus random events, random battles, and optional content. Burned Embers is in a point and click choose your own story fashion, along with battling, relationships, and class and leveling systems, with multiple endings and various achievements. The goal for the end of the game is to have 15 interactable cats in each clan, 7 in each loner group, and at least 25 random event characters and npcs. This totals out to just over 90 npcs, not counting background characters or main characters. The game features an LGBTQA+ cast, with the main character, Wisp, being pansexual and nonbinary, and various trans characters and gay/lesbian/bi/poly relationships, and of course, romancables. The game also has elements of @official-darkforest's second death au, so please check them out as well!

The three clans are Barkclan, Mossclan, and Shoreclan, and the three outside groups are the Empty eyes, the Frostwalkers, and the Nightingales. All these groups and clans will be further described in another post.

The game follows Wisp, a member of the frostwalkers who was adopted and raised by Adder, a loner who got attached to Wisp when they were a kit. Wisp gets contacted by a starclan cat named Splitpaw, who claims to have never truly died and has lost all his memories after discovering a series of collapsed tunnels. Wisp promises to help Splitpaw, who tells them to ask the Frostwalkers leader to see if he knows anything. Wisp wakes up in the middle of the night and goes to talk to Glade, the leader, when they discover that Glade is planning a raid on the clans. Wisp and Adder leave and warn one of the three clans, and after warding off the threat the clan offers to let Wisp join the clan. The game goes through Wisp's life as they attempt to help Splitpaw find out what happened, as Wisp gets used to their new life in a clan.

Sorry for the lack of posting! Most of the staff has been working hard on exams and final projects, so we havent been able to work as much on Burned Embers as we would have hoped.

However, since exams are finally over, we now have lots more time to work on it, so expect more from us soon!

To make up for it, heres a WIP drawing of Splitpaw.
