Thackery couldn’t stop smiling when she held him back. He missed her immensely, petting her hair lovingly as he spun her around. He finally put her back down and laughed before her question made his smile fade. 

“I was freed. My soul was finally at peace with Emily and the rest of my family for a good while… Until something brought me back. Some part of Winifred’s spell must’ve latched back onto my soul and dragged me back down here. Now I’m trapped on Earth once again, unable to die. However this time, I can shift between human and cat forms whenever I wish.” He explained a bit sadly.

Dani wanted to ditch the topic altogether. She wanted to forget that this had anything to do with the spell cast by Winifred Sanderson, and just enjoy getting to spend more time with Thackery.

“You don’t think she could be... you know...” Alive? She didn’t speak the last word aloud. Dani didn’t dare do so, for both of their sake. “Must be able to do a whole lot more on Earth with a human form than just as a cat, at least.” Dani attempted to lighten the mood just slightly.

“Yup. That’s them. The Sanderson Sisters-- oh, but the museum hasn’t been open for years, so there’s not much there to look at anymore.” Dani exclaimed with the slightest of shrugs. 

     “Well i can tell you that they are totally real witches. Even if lots of people those guys thought were witches weren’t, those three were. Winifred even had this creepy spell book that was protected by magic and a spell they used like over three centuries ago caused my brother to light the black flame candle and bring them back for a day. Very real witches.”

“I can see why you’d be… wary. I’m guessing the witches you’re talking about are the supposed witches who lived at the site of the museum in the town?”

“Hard to tell with the Puritans, what was really supernatural at the time and what was petty people using it for their own gain, scapegoating, or hallucinations from rotting grain stores.” It was definitely before his time.

Dani giggled lightly as the other lifted her. It had been so long since she’d seen Thackery Binx. The girl had always kept his last words to her when she was a kid close to her heart. 

“I’ve missed you too- but- but how are you here? I thought you got freed from her spell?” The happiness she had been showing was mixed with slight dread at the idea that his being here still may be on account of Winifred’s spell.
