a starter for the lovely @radboy-sadboy
Ava was convinced the clock was lying to her. Perhaps it was the fact that she was reaching the limit of shit she could deal with in one night but it certainly didn’t feel like half past one. The club owner would throw a fit if he noticed her absence from the stage but she’ll soon add that to the list of things she stopped caring about. Her name was Ella, from what Ava recalled, and she was heading for the backroom. Ava followed. “I get it. You’re new. You don’t know a newbie from a regular but you’re prancing around like you run this place. What you need is a little respect for girls that have been here longer. ”

Bella sighed as he heard her request. “I mean… Alright, I’ll wait up a while.” She better quick if she wanted to talk about things. But she wasn’t going to wait anymore than she already had for the night. The brunette was still mad about the situation and it would take her a lot of time to get over it, because it felt like the last straw. She couldn’t take it no more.
Tumblr media
“That’s a promise,“ Ava confirmed, biting down a smile. She was off for the bathroom before the Bella could protest. Or change her mind. Ava was never one for long showers but never the less, she made an extra effort to hustle. When she finally emerged from the shower, her damp hair hung around her waist and an old t-shirt covered her body. Bella’s t-shirt in fact; one Ava stole back when they weren’t even officially together. She leaned on the doorway of their bedroom, relieved to find Bella was still awake. “B,” she pouted, hoping to get a smile out of her at least. “Are you still angry or is it safe to get into bed?“

I knew you’d come. The four words rang in her head and tugged at Ava’s guilty heart. Even when seated on a plane from London she hoped this was an elaborate prank. A vengeful, pointless prank. It could still be so, she had to remind herself, but the wishful thoughts had nothing against the force of reality. The reality was the image of Scarlet right there, fiery locks against the pale hospital gown. The reality made her freeze. I’m so happy to see you. The pure joy that overcame her features was unbearable and Ava wanted nothing more than to turn around and go home, to leave this mess in the past. “Scarlet,” a pause. Ava cleared her throat. “Scar. Hi. Oh, lay down. Please.” The brunette was now quickly by her bedside, encouraging her to lean back with a press on her shoulder. “They told me you’re still in pain. You have to rest, okay?” Good, she thought. Distract her. Anything to avoid the question.

her emerald hues glanced around the ( rather small ) hospital room – the same white walls, white ceiling, and white floors that she had been staring at for days. her head was still throbbing, but the pain had subsided greatly since she had woken up. everything felt so weird, so complicated – in a way that she couldn’t even fathom. everything she thought was true apparently wasn’t anymore. her mind was stuck in two thousand and thirteen. her eyes lit up as a familiar face appeared in the doorway. “oh my god, you came! i – i knew you’d come.” the most enthusiastic she had been in days. “i – i can’t believe what they’re saying – about.. about us.” she started, lifting herself up from the pillow slightly, although she knew she probably shouldn’t. “it can’t be true, right?” she swallowed once as she tried to take in their presence – it felt like she had seen him the last week, they were undeniably and unconditionally in love… just last week. “i’m so happy to see you.”

“oh, of course. i wouldn’t dream of doing the opposite,” silas said, looking heavenward and briefly crossing himself. “i do appreciate this food, very much. and god, it smells absolutely heavenly.” he paused, looking over at ava. “wait, am i allowed to say that? i’m second-guessing everything i do here and now thanks to you.” he eyed the subs with delight and anticipation. “the bacon feast sounds like a hell of a story; i’ll take that if you please. and five cookies? my god, ava, you are a saint. and i am extremely well-nourished with you here. thank you, truly. you’re a gift from above.” he paused, making a face at himself. “bloody hell, i just cannot stop with the religious metaphors here. what have you done?”
Tumblr media
Ava shrugged her shoulders and reached for the Spicy Italian sub, a satisfying smirk tugging on her lips. “It must simply be my effect on people.” She flicked a strand of hair back for exaggeration. Ava could hardly be serious for long so she laughed never the less. “It smells heavenly. I’m a saint and a gift from above. Lord, if you were my mother’s son you’d get your arse kicked. Abuse of holy words...” Ava considered her words, her nose wrinkling, “or something like that.” She finally took a big bite and took the time properly look at him for the first time since she came in. “You know I don’t do soppy stuff but... I missed you, you know,” she confessed with another nudge of the elbow. “Who is going to eat five massive cookies with me if not you?”

“Oh, I don’t need it,“ she said, recognising the slip of paper with a bunch of messy numbers written on it. A phone number. “He’s completely not my type. You can have it though. He is cute.“

Every so often a mortal on Earth would be graced with the presence of one particular being… though fewer still had been honored with the visitation more than once. With so many in this world, it was truly hard to keep it all in order, especially when Naomi’s eye gravitated to those of her own creation, to those that she considered to be her children even if they never came from her own womb. There were countless humans that expressed their sorrows in the night, many who extended their heartache and pain in hopes that somebody might come to them… and while there may be times that somebody did, more often than not Naomi remained where she should be.
However, one particular girl she had visited some time ago when she was but a child had caught her interest that night. Watching her as she escaped from her home, it was with ease that she saw the extreme upset not only that she expressed… but that was harbored in her chest as well. With her own heart reaching for her, it wasn’t until Ava was weeping on her knees that Naomi descended, content that they wouldn’t be found and Ava wasn’t likely to run any longer.
Soundlessly, Naomi approached from the moonlight around her, kneeling beside the girl as her hands alighted on Ava’s shoulders with an impossibly gentle touch, “Ssssshhh.. child it will be alright.. come here,” she urged, her voice filled with utter gentleness as she pulled Ava into her form, leaving plenty of room for her to pull away should she wish.
The night was cool enough and when the breeze picked up, Ava was surprised to feel comfort rather than chill, relief rather than cool. She stayed there for a moment, drinking in the sensation, it’s fixed nature bringing a degree of stability that her breaths lacked. It wasn’t for a few moments that Ava lifted her head, which Ava realised was drooping, and found she wasn’t leaning into a breeze at all. How could she have not noted the difference? A woman, or maybe a girl though her vision was once again not to be trusted, was right there beside her. She was speaking. She must have been. Her lips were moving but the other didn’t hear; the drumming of her own heartbeat and the sounds of her own sobs bubbling from her lips shut out the world. The woman was saying something, she knew it. What was more, her arms were folded around Ava shoulders with a gentle touch. She’s always been too trustful of strangers. Far too trusting for her father’s liking anyway. Ava didn’t dare pull away; she wanted to drown in that scrap of comfort the woman’s arms granted her.
Who are you? She wanted to ask it. She had questions. Who are you? Where did you come from? What did you just say? “Your-- ” A hiccup. “Shirt. Your shirt is getting wet.” She blurted the words out and clamped her jaw shut before she could say something stupid, something that would make the other go away.

Freya grinned slightly as she looked at her. “Yeah, I think we will get along just fine.” Licking her lips she took a sip of her martini. This was going to be at the very least interesting. She tossed her hair back watching as she uncrossed her legs and reached for her jacket. Eyebrows raising as she studied her she stayed silent for a long moment. “No problem at all.” She said with a shake of her head. “I’ll look forward to seeing you again.” She said with a smile. Glancing to her drink she nodded and grinned. “Alright, I’m sure we’ll get along just fine.” She giggled. “No asking about her husband got it.” She had plenty of questions about what that was about. And she would probably ask them and just make her forget, or at the very least not bothered by her asking it.
Tumblr media
“Perfect,“ she nodded and finished fastening her jacket. With Freya still sat at the stool and Ava standing tall in her heels, they saw eye to eye. Ava wondered if she’d be embarrassed enough to look away; some of Ava’s previous girls had done just that and she still hasn’t figured out whether she thought it adorable or a sign of weakness. Perhaps it was both. The brunette leaned over to kiss the other on the cheek. They were in a public place after all. A place where people could easily distinguish Ava as a regular and anything deviating from a friendly nature might raise alarm bells. “Have a safe journey home Freya,” she said with a smile and began for the exit, speaking briefly to the hostess on her way out.

She swallowed hard and looked up at her partner, “What?” Bella asked so she could get over with it and then go to bed. She wanted to avoid talking anymore tonight. All she wanted to do was to sleep all her worries, to forget all about their messed up relationship. But she could never forget her feelings for Ava, they were a constant reminder in the back of her head. “Something quick, I wanna get to bed.”
Tumblr media
Ava took a breath and looked up at the other through her lashes, hoping that if her features mould a more helpless expression on her face it will soften Bella up a little. “Don’t go to sleep just yet,” she said slowly but before the other could protest, she continued. “I’ll take a quick shower. Get comfy in bed but please wait for me.” Tonight was not going to be yet another night where Bella fell asleep pissed off. Not if Ava can help it.

The brunette just stood there watching Ava, without saying anything. Everything she heard was excuses and that was not what she wanted to hear. No one had made her feel like she did, but was it worth it? Bella wasn’t sure it was. “So you couldn’t pick up the phone or text me?” She sighed deep, not knowing what to do at this point. “I’m not in the mood, I think I’ll just go to bed.” The anger and frustration was pulsing inside of her, but she was going to be the biggest person for once and not make the argument any bigger.
Tumblr media
Her first instinct was to just let her go. Let her go to sleep and hope the events of the night will all be forgotten once slumber does its job. And Ava was about to say just that; announce that she’s taking a shower and needed sleep anyway. Yet, she surprised herself when she felt her heart sink a little. She has actually been anticipating the evening with Bella all day. “Alright. But could you do just one thing for me?” she said in defeat. Ava made sure the other was looking at her before continuing. “Just one.”

A smirk tugged at Kveta’s lips. It was easy to see that the title had prodded a sore spot for the other. Perhaps she should have felt some sort of apologetic. But she didn’t. That’s not how it worked out here. The only person she looked out for was herself. She didn’t have time to worry about anyone else. That would get her killed. Besides, she really didn’t want to let anyone close to her. Being lonely was far easier.
“Wha'ever yews wan’ princess,” she shot back with a shrug. It wasn’t the first time Kveta had been taken to a hotel to have sex with a client. Most prefered a quickie in their car. Others though wanted to sed the petite girl splayed out across the crisp sheets of a hotel. Some of the desk clerks questioned hpw old she was, but she would just flash her fake ID: Katja Vrabecová, 18.
However, this chick had something totally different in mind. Kveta stopped dead in her tracks when she realized they were going to this girl’s home. “I ain’ stayin’ t'e nigh’ if yew take me 'ome. Yews go’ i’? I ain’ no pet. I’s give yew yewr 'our an’ go. Unless yews pay fer t'e whole goddamn nigh’.” She crossed her arms over her chest. Kveta’s eyes were guarded and wary. What was this girl really playing at?
There it was again. Princess. The more sentimental reason this nickname was bothering her has diminished; now it was simply annoying. "Well aren’t you lucky I’ll be your pillow princess tonight,” she taunted, smirking at her own wit even though she knew, with Ava walking in front, the other couldn’t see it. No, it wasn’t what she wanted but she wasn’t going to let this girl throw comments like that without a little backchat.
Ava rolled her eyes when she heard the other stop walking behind her. For someone who seemed like they wanted to make money, the girl was being extremely difficult. “Just keep walking,” she sighed, frustration slowly building in her voice. “You’re not a pet. I have to pay you. I’ve got it.” This time, she turned around and made sure the other was paying attention. “Don’t keep a girl waiting. You’re killing the mood and I’ll change my mind soon,” she delivered the words with confidence but her fingers still fidgeted with the sleeves of her jumper. Deciding she’d rather not let the other see her nerves, Ava turned right back around and kept walking, with a greater speed to her step this time around. She crossed the near empty road and turned the bend making sure she could still hear the other’s footsteps behind her. “It’s that one just there,” she announced, nodding towards the apartment block across the street.
