Rock It Today
I like to say rock is the Latin of the music world. Its beginnings in the 1950s have spurred and started numerous trails of different varieties including grunge, alternative and even folk and indie music. Some of the best voices came from the rock world including Robert Plant, Freddy Mercury and later on to Chris Cornell. I have specifically focused on rock music from the 1990s to today. I did this because the 1990s played an integral role in shaping the variety of rock music today. On my website there are snippets and tidbits of information all leading up to the conclusion that rock music continues to make its stamp today. Shayla Hyde

My Trip to Alaska: Slideshow Extra Credit

I decided to experiment with PhotoSnack and do a slideshow on my trip to Northern Alaska. I love photography and it was a great experience to try to capture the northern lights and beautiful atmosphere. I hope to go back with a higher end camera and get some more stunning shots of the night sky. -Taylor Bishop

Polished Portfolio

I decided to do my final project on my professional portfolio that will showcase all the work I did throughout school and internships. I knew that portfolios can take a lot of work and involve a variety of multimedia elements.
From what I learned in this class, I felt confident to create a polished, attractive portfolio that will hopefully help me get my first job. I built the site on Wix and hope to build another portfolio on Wordpress eventually. I wanted to focus on the work I’ve done but also create a platform for me to show my own voice and personality.
Thank you for a wonderful semester! -Taylor Bishop

Sweaters in the Desert

I always loved the ugly sweater trend around the holidays and was never shy to admit I actually own over 12 ugly Christmas sweaters. As Thanksgiving passed and December inched closer brought out all of my sweaters. I began to wonder why I wore holiday sweaters, where the crazy trend began and what the stories were behind the desert dwellers that wear them. To answer all these questions I began the blog Sweaters in the Desert to tell the stories of these tacky holiday traditions. Crystal Alvarez

Values within law

The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law is beautifully constructed in the heart of Downtown Phoenix. However, it is not just aesthetically pleasing. The architecture exudes of the law school’s core values, showing them throughout the entire building. Take a look at some of the best examples I found. Kara Brown

Ethics

In todays society, the practice of journalistic ethics is more important than ever. Journalists are the watchdogs of the world and inform citizens of the political and social situations occurring. It is the duty of the journalist to act ethically to ensure there is no rift between the story teller and the reader. I created a medium blog post explaining how important it is for a journalist to have a strong set of ethical morals based on the SPJ code of ethics.

Arts in “Law”

The Beus Center for Law and Society (BCLS) is the new building to the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law of ASU which locates in downtown phoenix campus. It costs ASU $129 million and begins in the summer of 2014. I still remember the first day I see it when I transfer to here. It was unfinished and there was no way to predict how it would be looked like in the future. And now, I am so surprised that it comes out so great. You can feel how great it is when you see it. We can find many arts hide in this new law building if we pay attention to it. Here is the slideshow that I make for some parts of the law building. Hope everyone can get a chance to see it directly! For my Final Project, I decided to redo my portfolio. Last semester I had JMC 305 where I learned how to make an online portfolio. By the end of the semester, however, I did not like it. So, I decided to redo it. To see the difference between my two online portfolios, here is the link to my first online portfolio and a link to my newest one. Bailey Grant

Beus

In 2013, Arizona State University began the creation of it’s modern Beus Center of Law and Society, home of the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law. The building cost ASU $129 million to build the 6-story modern learning building. If you haven’t had time to visit the new building, you can take a look at some of my photographs...maybe they will persuade you to make a trip.
