I recently had surgery, and at the time I came home, I had both my cat and one of my grandma's cats staying with me.
- Within hours of surgery, I wake up from a nap to my cat gently sniffing at my incisions with great alarm.
- I was not allowed to shower the first day after surgery, and the cats, seeing that The Large Cat is not observing its cleaning ritual, decided I must be gravely disabled and compensated by licking all the exposed skin on my arms, face, and legs.
- I currently have to sleep with a pillow over my abdomen because my cat insists on climbing on top of me and covering my incisions with her body while I sleep (which is very sweet but not exactly comfortable without the pillow). She also lays across me facing my bedroom door, presumably on guard for attackers who may try to harm me while I'm sleeping and injured.

I don't do much physical art but I'm very proud of this work in progress. It's fanart for a dnd campaign I play in - of Whenver and an NPC, Elzaren, and they are incredibly star-crossed. It's based on Gustav Klimt's The Kiss.

So I think I maybe gave a capitalist bro coworker a minor epiphany/breakdown.
We were talking about the switch release BC another coworker got it day of launch (I think this particular coworker is also a stupid idiot for different reasons but this is among them) and it was mentioned you don't own the switch you own a revocable licence to use it, which flabbergasted capitalist bro. I said "late stage capitalism" BC I'm not surprised to which he was like "no that's communism!" To which we explained "communism is the state owning real property, this is a corporation owning private property, not the same" to which he was basically like "omg. You're right. That's crazy."
We explained what rent seeking behaviour is and I guess I did a casual cheeky "Marx also predicted that". He seemed like really bummed out which I guess is a reasonable response but I did not expect to be able to change the opinion of a guy who likes Elon Musk.
#hes not all bad you just have to not talk about American politics#idk why some Australians are like into conservative american political leaders its WEIRD#capitalism bro coworker isnt all bad. hes not been transphobic to me which seemed incongruous with his conservatism#but like idk. maybe its the whiskers#or the fact im the youngest person in the office and hes got boys#hes not all that bad if you know how to stay casual and redirect him conversationally which i suppose is how it is for everyone#anyway sorry for yhe disappearance i have been severely butned out#still making art just mostly keeping it to myself lately
