The last of the eagle huntsmen: Mongolian tribe are the only people in the world using the amazing birds to catch prey
Dozens of Mongolian Kazakh golden eagle hunters gathered for the annual hunting competition
Today there are only some 400 Mongolian Kazakh eagle hunters left - a number which is shrinking
The traditional 17th Golden Eagle Festival has been held in the Altai Mountains of Western Mongolia
The festival was founded in 1999 to preserve the Kazakh's unique culture, tradition and to protect golden eagles

GOBI DESERT
Gobi is a large semi desert region in Asia. It covers part of northern China and southern Mongolia. The desert basins of the Gobi are bounded by the Altai Mountains and the grasslands and steppes of Mongolia on the north, by the Taklamakan Desert to the West, by the Hexi Corridor and Tibetan Plateau to the southwest, and by the North China Plain to the southeast. The Gobi is most notable in history as part of the Great Mongol Empire, and as the location of several important cities along the Silk Road. Most popular places are dinosaur cemetery - Bayanzag, Yol Valley and Khongor Sand Dunes  See more at: www.toursmongolia.com
