FFXIV Secret Santa 2019

BUT SORIN IT’S NOT EVEN HALLOWEEN YET

shhhhhh it’s never too early for Christmas prep :D

Last year I got this started way too late, so I’m hoping that by announcing sign-ups and such now, people can start thinking about what they want to/can give, what they’d like to put on their wishlist, and so on. This was very successful in 2017 and 2018, so hopefully people are still into the idea!

Here’s what I’m thinking for this year-

- Sign-ups will begin 11/01 and close 11/20, which gives you almost a whole month to get your name in the bucket!

- I will hand out your Secret Santas on 12/01. You’ve got until Christmas Eve to get your goodies together. :D

- Though I obviously can’t make you wait for Christmas, please gift your item ON or AROUND the 25th! If you’re going to be gone or absent, of course you can gift early, but please try not to be super super late.

- If you sign up, PLEASE KNOW that you will be GIVING someone a gift as well as RECEIVING one. I’ve had people flake out both the years I’ve done this, and it’s always disappointing. Please don’t be that guy. If you sign up and your circumstances change, just contact me and we’ll work it out.

- If you say that you will be gifting in-game items, I will pair you with someone on your server. If that isn’t possible, I’ll ping you and we’ll chat about it- thus, the extra ten days I’m giving myself to get my shit together this year. :D;

I’ve relocated Sorin’s blog and split it off of this one to make it easier on me to interact with people :D I know a lot of people aren’t into interacting with NPCs, which is totally fine- I’m afraid, though, that’s limiting my ability to RP with my OC since it’s a sub-blog, so I figured this would be easier.

I’d really love to branch out more and RP with him, so if you don’t mind, would you pop over to @aetherstitch and add me? You can check out my rules/about/etc all built into the theme, all that’s there right now is sort of a “hi and thanks” post :D

It’s been a minute since I’ve been on tumblr, but I need the aid of the hivemind :| This just started after today’s patch. 

I did NOT attempt to access the game earlier today, as I read that doing so would be Bad News Bears.

All the usual things to fix it have failed (FFXIV_BOOT, regedit, etc). I’m running on Windows 10 64 bit, and I do not have the Steam version. 

Please tell me I don’t have to uninstall and re-download the whole game. ;;

Awesome, it looks like there is indeed interest!! :D

I’ll make the sign-up form and get it sent out later today, and I’ll have the pairings done ASAP. Sign-ups will close Sunday, 12/09, which I know is tighter than last year- I apologize for that! I’m trying to think of a good way to ensure delivery happens, so I suppose I should say it clearly-

Please ONLY sign up if you are able to give SOME SORT OF GIFT!

Now, this absolutely does not mean monetary (i.e. you don’t have to sprint to the mog station) - you can give in-game gifts if you’re on the same servers (and I’ll try my best to make that happen again), you can give art even if all you can draw is a stick figure with a sword and shield, you can give whatever you like- the whole point of this is to spread happiness and make someone smile!

Please continue signal-boosting and I’ll have the form done shortly!
