yes 👍
so is everyone on this website theologically illiterate or
#there's this odd sort of sentiment that seems go to around -#that if you're not of a religion#you don't need to learn about it or how it's practiced#meanwhile that's genuinely a really important aspect of cultures to learn about#including the culture that any given one of us is in.#there's a lot of people who aren't religious but still believe in its doctrine without even realizing#the fundamental concept of moralization is directly rooted in religion and divinity#our perceptions of good & evil - our recognition of even the presence of those concepts - were instilled unto us by religion#tl;dr lotta atheists who still believe in god

I'm sorry, I don't believe that anyone who has read regularly since childhood would still count Harry Potter as the best book they've ever read.
#ayorb#legendary reblog pull. thank you redshirt!#i actually remember trying to read harry potter as a kid. it was kind of boring.#some stuff i do remember reading and liking at the time - “Fablehaven” and “The Edge Chronicles”#fablehaven was more typical youth fantasy but the edge chronicles were really something special iirc

does the “only played deltarune; never played undertale” crowd know that in undertale, asgore was a powerful king of the underground who killed humans and stole their souls and nearly became a god?
or do they only know him as “pathetic divorce guy”? (which to be fair, he was also that in undertale. but still)
#ayorb#asgore is really funny because even in the game where he's a terrifyingly capable combatant#where he's revered as a well-respected king and something of a bastion to his people#he is still the most divorced loser dad of all time

So like, it's obvious to me reading the comments on my post that anti-porn people are largely like, afraid of porn. Like the concept of a sex video is really spooky to them. They're not making thoughtful critiques of the porn industry, which is genuinely a really fucked up industry, they're mostly just spooked by the concept of a sex video and what it could Do To You If You See It.
I said this in another post, but it's like, the difference between "a ton of coffee is produced using slave labor" (valid, important criticism of the coffee industry) and "coffee turns people into raving coffee addicts who forget how to interact with anyone because they're so obsessed with their coffee" (objectively not true, insane viewpoint).
It's literally just sex videos. They really cannot hurt you.
