Hoo boy...
"So yeah, she did it, she kissed your husbando. But, he didn't say "I love you" to her, so you still have a chance, don't be mad."
You know what? You really pissed me off there with this line. Really, REALLY make me mad for real. This is mockery at its finest.
"No offense but language is grammar, don't try to translate separate words and just connect them however you wish."
"Trying to use あの別れ and キスのとき as separate entities is like... I don't even know what to say... How?? Why?? Grammar isn't Lego."
YES, GRAMMAR. Well... here's the thing:
Japanese grammar is kind of like a Lego. In my eyes at least. Japanese grammars are located in particles (は、が、へ、に、で、の、を), sentence structure, conjugations. At least these three are the main. So, don't treat Japanese grammar like English. It's different.
And, since you seems didn't notice why, I'll break it down. Simplified, why raintranslated feel this exact sentence:
「あの別れのキスのとき」
Is ambiguous, and why I validate it.
Here's why:
There are two, literally TWO of 「の」 particles in one sentence. First in the middle, and second one at the end of the sentence. These two 「の」 particles are what makes the sentence ambiguous.
Why?
Because these two 「の」 particles are a "belonging/possession" particles. It connected two words.
The first one, which is in the middle, connected the words 別れ and キス, and then BOOM... it becomes 「別れのキス」 which means; "Farewell kiss"
Then the second one, at the end of the sentence. It connected the words キス and とき, and then BOOM... it becomes 「キスのとき」 which means; "When we kissed."
See? Simple, problem solved, case closed (lol)
Okay, let's take a deep breath first before we continue.
Again, like I said before, these two 「の」 particles are the "problem". Because it raises a questions:
1. Did the キス connected to とき?
Or
2. Did the キス connected to 別れ?
Because here's the thing:
First of all, let's take a look at the sentence itself:
「あの別れのキスのとき」
If we omitted the first 「の」 particle in 「別れのキス」, the word 別れ will attached to あの and become 「あの別れ」 which means "That farewell". Literally or metaphorically.
Then the word キス will automatically attached to the word とき since there's a second 「の」 particle there, and become 「キスのとき」 which means "When we kissed". Clearly talking about the kiss that Kallen and Lelouch shared.
See? Two separate words but precise in its own words meaning.
But, if we omitted the first 「の」 particle, it will become 「あの別れキスのとき」 which is GRAMMATICALLY incorrect. So it can't be like that.
Then, let's take a look at the second 「の」 particle at the end of sentence. If we omitted the 「の」 particle here, the word キス will automatically attached to 別れ because, again, there's 「の」 particle there and it become 「あの別れのキス」 and とき will become it's own separate word because it didn't connected to any sentence.
So, is it become 「あの別れのキスとき」 ? No of course. Because it's GRAMMATICALLY incorrect.
Then, what should we do to connect とき with the rest of sentence? By using a particle. However, unlike the first 「の」 particle in 「別れのキス」, the second 「の」 particle at the end of sentence is REPLACEABLE. You can either keep using 「の」 or replace it with 「する」 or 「をする」
Because...
The word キス is a NOUN that always followed by the verb する. Which is why, normally, when you want to talk about "Kissing", Japanese native would always said 「キスする」 or 「キスをする」
And that's why, I gave that argument. I gave that alternative sentence. To give an example, if SUNRISE want to make the sentence clear, talking about "Kissing", then normally it will become 「あの別れのキスしたとき」 or 「あの別れのキスをしていたとき」
Heck, look back again at this sentence:
「あの別れのキスのとき」
Even if you omitted the 別れ and の, and just attached あの to the latter, it will become 「あのキスのとき」 which means "When we kissed at that time" or "When we have that kiss". It still GRAMMATICALLY correct, and it's much more clear because it's really talking about the kissing.
And then, if we do the same thing by omitted the キス and の, and just attached とき to 別れ, it becomes 「あの別れのとき」 which means "When we parted at that time". It will still GRAMMATICALLY correct, and again it's much more clear of what it means.
So, does that means 「あの別れのキスのとき」 is grammatically wrong?
OF COURSE NOT.
It's grammatically correct, but have a different nuance.
Because... Japanese language is known to be ambiguous, but also logical.
So, UNLESS, again, I repeat, UNLESS it was intended to be ambiguous, Japanese sentence would precise in it's meaning. 1 + 1 = 2. That's it.
And thus, the conclusion is... SUNRISE as the "word of god" was clearly making this sentence:
「あの別れのキスのとき」
To be ambiguous. It has double meaning. It can be the "farewell kiss" or it can be just the "farewell", like literally and metaphorically, or maybe it can be the whole situation. Who knows? It's up to people interpretation.
If you want to interpret it as "farewell kiss" then sure, go ahead. But that doesn't mean people (who understand Japanese) that interpreted in another way are wrong. Because again, the sentence has double meaning.
AND, the point that I want to make is... since Japanese language is known to be ambiguous, so a translator SHOULD be careful when translating a text. A translator should considering the context behind a text, and a possibility of double meaning, so that the translation won't be lost in translation and the meaning can be conveyed in a truest way.
THAT IS THE JOB OF A TRANSLATOR.
Because, translating something and MAKE IT LOST IN TRANSLATION is the last thing that every translator wanted to do.
Anyway, just an addition. Since you're so fixated on 別れ being an adjective, let me give a clarification that 別れ actually is a NOUN. And please mind you that even if you attached の with 別れ, it's just a nominal particles which didn't change the meaning at all.
Here's what the dictionary explains:
Tumblr media
From the very first time I made that reblog I was never debating for the sake of “shipping.” I was analyzing language, as respectfully and logically as possible, you're the one who came by saying "Don't dismissed it as shipping wars" and ended the sentence with that "So yeah, she kissed your husbando, don't be mad" thing. That is so unnecessary. Truly unnecessary.
So yeah, congrats of making me mad for real.
This would be my final arguments, if you're still being stubborn, then we just have to agree to disagree.
Thank you.
Code Geass Complete Best Regret Message // Nunnally & Kallen // Canon
The Complete Best Regret messages, also known as character poems, are message left from various characters to Lelouch, after his death through Zero Requiem. Those are available within the Complete Best OST Which gathers some of the best OST of the show.
Tumblr media
They offer us a nice last view of their thoughts and feelings directed to Lelouch, after his tragic end. Each of the letter are written and illustrated with a rough sketch of the character in their predominant color, and the first page of the booklet is a very nice sketch of Lelouch.
Tumblr media
Each of the message have a title taken after a Code Geass opening or ending, Let's start with Nunnally.
Tumblr media
Nunnally Lamperouge / vi Britannia - Mozaiku Kakera (Mosaic Shards) // Ending 2
I have been thinking about the many things that you have given me.
They can’t be counted on my fingers, for each and every one that I count, a stone is left. Lining them up, the stones can be pieced together into a mosaic. But, I will not do that. I don’t want to. (1) I will continue to count them piece by piece, always remembering their shape, their color and their touch. (2)
Even these dreams, that kindness, our rendezvous, those lies, mistakes…. Even that voice, the warmth in those hands that grasped mine, even the loneliness, the twistedness, the pain in my chest. Even that silence. Even those eyes.
Everything, I will hold dear.
Even if you had not given me many things, I could not give you anything in return. You gave me everything and you ended up leaving.
In those happy days, we did not even say “Thank you” nor “I’m sorry” between us. Those words would only invoke sadness. Your heart would grow far away. Just like that, you were myself, and I was you.
However, that day, the words you have told me still remains in my ears. You didn’t even let me reply. That’s why, while hearing your voice ringing in my ear, I will answer you from the bottom of my heart.
I love you too. (3)
(1) Lit.: I do not want to bring them (stones) together. (2) Lit.: One by one, I will continue to count them; their shape, color, and touch, I will continue to feel throughout. (1) Broken up into two sentences in the original Japanese: Aishiteru. Anata wo. (I love. You.) Translation by Blottyparchment.
Tumblr media
Kallen Kozuki / Stadtfeld - Yuukyou Seishunka (Extolling the Brave Chivalry of Youth) // Ending 1
Until I met you, I was only merely plastered with thorns. I wanted to change this truth. I seethingly and recklessly acted. But then, I didn’t believe that anything would come out of it.
When my brother was gone, I heard the sound of the heavy doors closing behind me. I cannot allow it. I will fight to the bitter end. I decided that I would not go back. Then, someday, I would have died like my brother.
Until the very end, Kouzuki Kallen would not abide by authority. That bit of willpower I was carrying with me, it slipped away from me, and I can feel it faintly. At that moment, I envisioned you as the star at the break of dawn, inviting me.
If I would think that this is for you, my body would feel light. Whatever struggles there were, the pain would go away. I would be the first to come rushing to your battlefield, raging like a lioness, crushing your enemies. I would stand being muddied so that I could create a path for you.
Looking back, it’s mysterious. Even though I should have loathed and rebelled against Britannia’s tyranny. Without knowing it, I held personal devotion only for you.
Lelouch, that parting kiss, even if it was a lie, if you had said, “I love you,” (1)(2) I would even follow you to hell. You knew that, didn’t you?
It’s not like you. You’re good at manipulating people just by your words. Really, it’s not like you to be kind. Is that why you told me to 'live on’? I fell in love with you (3) not just because of that kindness.
(1) Kallen uses the word 'aishiteru' here. It is a word that carries strong weight in Japanese and is not simply used to express love. You may say 'suki' and mean love, but 'aishiteru' is used between two intimate lovers, and within the show, only between Lelouch and Nunnally. (2) In japanese you emphasize on the end of a line; the "Even if it was a lie" is there to show how great her love for him was, the "wakatteta deshou" means Kallen was quite sure the "Aishiteru" would have come, had he not been kind with her. (3)The love here is 'suki ni naru' Translation by Blottyparchment & Lie
Hope you enjoyed.

it actually makes me a lil insane to think about how loved sebastian is. how agni admired him and saw him as a friend. how madame red said he's basically family to ciel. how Mey rin adores him for being the first person to make her feel valued and appreciated. how finny used to give him hugs so strong they would supposedly damage a normal person's spine. how bard's face lit up when he appeared in the forest in the emerald witch arc. how elizabeth felt so safe and reassured with him there on the Campania. he's become such a valuable part of so many people's lives. and maybe it is all just part of an act, part of his butler aesthetic, but in a way, isn't it kind of beautiful that a demon could be so committed to a contract with a child that he accidently ended up improving the lives of everyone around him in the process?

I am as an amateur translator myself can understand your frustration because when I translated a Japanese text, I want the meaning to stick with original Japanese, be it in words translation or the nuance. I don't want to be biased and be that "trust me, bro" person 😅
I was flabbergasted too when I read the original translation, especially with the イラついてる being translated as "plastered with thorns". When I read that for the first time (in 2019 I think?), I went "????" And asking myself "isn't thorns is 棘? but I didn't see any 棘 there in the sentence... and イラついてる means "irritated" not thorns..." but just let it flow as if nothing happened lol
That being said, just keep up with a good translation, raintranslated. I'm actually one of your translation reader and wanted to say thanks too for all your translation👌

Sorry to butt in, just wanted to give my two cents here about what I know.
I think whoever translated that Kallen's regret messages forget to translate the word 「とき」 there and focused on 「別れのキス」
From what I understand, though it's not wrong to translate 「別れのキス」 as "goodbye kiss", but it's not true either as the whole sentence nuance isn't talking about "goodbye kiss". There's a word 「とき」 in the last sentence which mean "when", "time", "moment". At least, here's what the dictionary explains:
Tumblr media
So, the 「とき」 is explaining the whole moment that happened at that time. I'm not good at explaining things, but the meaning that I got from the sentence of 「あの別れのキスのとき」 is "When we parted at that time with that kiss".
So it's not saying about "goodbye kiss" as what it was written originally, but about the "parting" or "Goodbye" and the "kiss". Since the words 「別れ」 here is likely more attached to 「あの」 rather than the 「キス」. The particle 「の」 in the middle is bridging (?) The word 「別れ」 and 「キス」. Yes it can be "parting kiss" like most people maybe wanted to perceive, but there's also the words 「のとき」 after the 「キス」、so it's like explaining two different things which are the "parting" (別れ) and the "kiss" (キス).
If we want to talk about "parting kiss" then the sentence should be rearranged. For example maybe like 「あの別れのキスをしていたとき」 rather than 「あの別れのキスのとき」
So... yeah... long story short, the sentence of 「あの別れのキスのとき」 is basically explaining the "parting" and the "kiss" from my understanding of the words nuance.
Again, sorry to butt in, since I'm also knows Japanese, so I think I just wanted to tell about what I understand 😅 cause my understanding is just like raintranslated. The sentence were telling about things in such ambiguous way. Not just about "goodbye kiss" in general.

Anime is great. Anime will be like “this is my character of ambiguous western descent. Their name is the most incomprehensible combination of made up sounds. And if not that, it is a name that has not appeared on a single birth certificate since 1773.
Code Geass went and said “most of these character hail from Future Sort-of-Britain, including our main character, who will be named Lelouch just like every single British person isn’t.” Then they decided to distract you from this by naming his love interest Shirley, cornering the market of 80+ year old grandmothers clutching their 3 bowls of strawberry sucker candy in delight. Code Geass didn’t even call it a day here they had one more trick up their sleeve and it was to name the third character in the group Rivalz, a name and a character which appeal to exactly no one.
Tiger and Bunny said “What should our western young-20′s heartthrob successful pretty-boy deuteragonist be named? What screams ‘young’ and ‘trendy’ and ‘brilliant’ and ‘sexy’? Barnaby. Barnaby Brooks. This is our Sex Symbol Barnaby.” I bet a bunch of ghosts from the 17th century were stoked about that one. I bet Barnaby walks into gift shops asking if they have any of the travel keychains in his name and he gets laughed out of the store. I bet Barnaby’s parents didn’t die, they just faked their deaths to get away from him seeing as they hated him enough to name him Barnaby.
I haven’t followed Attack on Titan in 7 years but yall have a character named Pieck Finger. That’s it that’s my roast.

GAKUEN K -WONDERFUL SCHOOL DAYS-
Fushimi Saruhiko route
AFTER STORY
Tumblr media
Finally the last installment (?) Of Fushimi's route. Translation below the cut.
Fushimi Saruhiko: "...Oi."
Konohana Saya: "Ah! Fushimi-kun...!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "What does this mean."
Konohana Saya: "S-Sorry... All that's left to do is to carry the stuff out of the closet."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Tch... I've told you before right? To do your preparation properly. The moving agents are already waiting downstairs."
Konohana Saya: "Eh? ...Ah! It's already this late!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "...Doing something like this is just a waste of time. Let's finish cleaning up the rest."
Konohana Saya: "S-Sorry...."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "If you have a time to apologise, move quickly."
Konohana Saya: "Yes!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "We have finished cleaning up for the most part. All that left to do is carrying out the furniture by moving agents..."
Konohana Saya: "Fushimi-kun, I'm sorry for making you helped me."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "It's still not over yet..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "This is just for moving preparations, and it's already like this. Could it be that you'll make me cleaning up over there... hm?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "What is this... kotatsu?"
(TL note: kotatsu is a table with electric heater)
Konohana Saya: "Ah! It's broken since winter last year, so I put it away in the closet without taking it out..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "............."
Konohana Saya: "I've been using this since I was at home. I really like this one..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Tch... just hurry up and throw away this broken kotatsu already."
Konohana Saya: "Eh! M-Maybe, it can be repaired..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Because you can't repair it, so you put it away right? Can you fixed it yourself? You have to bring it to servicing agents."
Konohana Saya: "It's just as you, said..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "I will throw away this one. You carry the rest of luggage out to the moving agents quickly. Okay?"
Konohana Saya: "...Okaaay."
Konohana Saya: (I like that kotatsu, but it can't be helped...)
Fushimi Saruhiko: "...Tch."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Oi. Hide this in the back and stack it there."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "It's a bit shabby, so be careful."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "...Tch."
+++++++++++
Konohana Saya: "Somehow, I managed to get everything done in time... Thank you Fushimi-kun."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "...Hmph. We still got unpacking things to do at the new home."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Even though we asked the agents to bring in our luggage to the room, it's our job to put it in order."
Konohana Saya: "You're right. But, fufu."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Huh? What? Why are you laughing all of sudden..."
Konohana Saya: "Because, I'm happy when I thought that starting today I can live together with Fushimi-kun."
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".........."
Konohana Saya: "I'm excited about our new life living together!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".....You don't forget about what I said that if you're too sloppy, I'll kick you out, do you?"
Konohana Saya: "I-It's okay...! Even though today is impossible, but starting tomorrow I'll be able to cook meals too!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Hm... Don't put too much pressure on yourself."
Konohana Saya: "Fushimi-kun?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Tch... come on, let's go."
Konohana Saya: "Ah, mhm!"
+++++++++++
Konohana Saya: "Mn... huh... where, am I...?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Are you still half asleep? Wake up immediately."
Konohana Saya: "Fushimi-kun!?"
Konohana Saya: (Ah, right. Yesterday we've been changing residence and put things in order, but we couldn't quite finish at all...)
Konohana Saya: (I've been in the middle of unpacking and fell asleep, huh)
Konohana Saya: "Come to think of it, we came to our new home. For a moment, I don't know where am I, so I'm surprised."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Tch... as I thought you're half asleep. Even so... I can't believe you were able to sleep so soundly in this messy room."
Konohana Saya: "It can't be helped. Yesterday, I was at my limit just with bringing everything in."
Konohana Saya: "But, I'm glad we were able to properly secure space to lay down the futon."
(TL note: Futon is a japanese traditional bed. It's foldable.)
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....It doesn't matter, just hurry up and do the arrangements. Because we will finish tidying up by today."
Konohana Saya: "Yeah!"
Konohana Saya: (I see... finally, starting from today, I can live together with Fushimi-kun!)
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....What's with that face."
Konohana Saya: "Fufu, nothing. Let's finish the arrangements quickly!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".......?"
+++++++++++
Konohana Saya: "Phew. Has the big luggage been taken care of? Oh right. The weather is good too, so let's drying the futon."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....Don't drop it, okay?"
Konohana Saya: "I won't drop it! Huh? The things that Fushimi-kun brings is..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Huh? .....oh, line this futon up and dry it while you're at it. There's still a space left, isn't it?"
Konohana Saya: "Y-Yeah, it's okay. But, that is a futon for kotatsu right?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Is there any other use for square futon like this?"
Konohana Saya: "I don't think there's any, but the kotatsu was discarded yesterー Ah!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....Tch."
Konohana Saya: "Fushimi-kun! This is... my kotatsu? .....Ah, the power is on!"
Konohana Saya: "Could it be that you repaired it for me...?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "......Everyone's going on about the kotatsu."
Konohana Saya: "Fushimi-kun, thank you! It's amazing that you can repair a kotatsu!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "I’ve repaired it before, that’s all. It’s not that amazing to make such a fuss over."
Konohana Saya: "Really? But still, it's amazing. Thank you so much!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "......If you have a time to move your mouth, hurry up and cleaning up the rest."
Konohana Saya: "Uhm!"
+++++++++++
Konohana Saya: "Tidying up is over!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "For now, looks like we can manage to live just fine."
Konohana Saya: "You're right. Haah... thank goodness it's over."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "It's about time we bring in the futon. The sun is setting after all."
Konohana Saya: "Ah, Fushimi-kun, you can rest. I will bring the futon in!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Oi, don't drop it."
Konohana Saya: "Fushimi-kun, it's the second time you said that! Huff... whoa...!"
Konohana Saya: ".........."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "........."
Konohana Saya: "........"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Oi."
Konohana Saya: "Yes!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Just now, you..."
Konohana Saya: "....Sorry. I dropped Fushimi-kun's futon to other side..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "You’re always like this, lacking attention, so even with a job as simple as punching holes in documents, you make mistakes..."
Konohana Saya: "Ugh! You bring up a nostalgic topic..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "I'll go and pick up the dropped futon. You put away the remaining futon."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Remember, don't drop it."
Konohana Saya: "I'll be careful!"
Konohana Saya: "W-Whoa..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "......How do you managed to drop it exactly in the spot right where muddy water has collected?"
Konohana Saya: "I'm sorry... I'll wash the sheets. The futon, is all soaked isn't it...?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Haah... I have no choice but to sleep in kotatsu today."
Konohana Saya: "Right..."
Konohana Saya: (It's still cold, but I have a bed cover... I feel bad for Fushimi-kun, but I'll have him use my futon today)
Fushimi Saruhiko: "...At this time, the dry cleaners should be just about to close, so I'll drop it off."
Konohana Saya: "T-Then, let me...!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "You don't have to. Just wait while preparing dinner."
Konohana Saya: ".........."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Tch... You've been working hard on cooking, haven't you?"
Konohana Saya: "Ah..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "In that case, it's because of you that I have to go all the way to dry cleaners. Don't make a terrible meals on our first day living together, okay?"
Konohana Saya: "O-Okay! I'll do my best preparing dinner!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".......I'm off."
Konohana Saya: "Uhm. Thank you. Take care."
Konohana Saya: (Fushimi-kun's futon... it would be good if the dirt didn't leave a stain on it)
Konohana Saya: (Alright! I can't feel sad forever, so let's make dinner)
Konohana Saya: (...Oh right. If we're eating a hot pot on kotatsu it should be delicious. The outside is also cold, so let's make a hot pot for tonight!)
++++++++++++
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....From all of things, kotatsu and hot pot."
Konohana Saya: "Huh? Fushimi-kun, you don't like hot pot? I know that you're a picky eater, but I think with this you can still eat by putting aside what you don't like."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "..........."
Konohana Saya: "Fushimi-kun?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....Tch, it's nothing. I just remember a little bit about old days."
Konohana Saya: "....I see."
Konohana Saya: (Did something happened?)
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Like I said, it's nothing. Don't worry."
Konohana Saya: (Even though he said to not worry, he glared at hot pot and kotatsu...)
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Foods."
Konohana Saya: "Eh?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "We're going to eat, right? You said that you've practiced cooking, but if the first day is hot pot then things from here on out aren't going to be much different, though."
Konohana Saya: "Ah! If you said that, tomorrow's meal will be based on Fushimi-kun's request."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Request?"
Konohana Saya: "Yup. Just think about what you want to eat, okay?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "...If I feel like it."
Konohana Saya: "Geez, look, the pot's boiling over, so let's eat! Sit down, sit down."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "............"
Konohana Saya: "Let's eat."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "......Let's eat."
++++++++++++
Konohana Saya: "Thank you for the meals. ...Anyway, the futon's dry cleaning, how long did they say it would take?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "They said it will take around 5 days later to finish. Well... it can't be helped."
Konohana Saya: "I see... I'm sorry Fushimi-kun. It's inexcusable, but please make do with my futon during that time."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Huh? That futon is yours. I'm fine with kotatsu."
Konohana Saya: "Eeh!? That's not okay! Also, if you sleep in kotatsu, you would catch a cold!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "It's okay. The bed cover is fine, though."
Konohana Saya: "B-But... still, it's bad, so I will sleep in kotatsu..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Tch... I said it's okay. Generally, if it's catching a cold then it's the same as you."
Konohana Saya: "It was my carelessness that caused the futon to fall."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "If that's the case, from now on, don't do something that make me end up sleeping in kotatsu. Okay?"
Konohana Saya: "Fushimi-kun... okay, thank you!"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "......If you understand then hurry up take a bath. It's already quite late."
Konohana Saya: "Uhm! I'm going to take a bath first then."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "........Hm."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "........It's warm."
+++++++++++++
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".....It's about time to sleep."
Konohana Saya: "You're right. But Fushimi-kun, is it really alright?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "I told you it's alright. It's just 5 days."
Konohana Saya: "I'll accept your kind offer then. I'm going to sleep in futon, okay?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Yeah."
Konohana Saya: "Good night, Fushimi-kun."
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".........Good night."
++++++++++++
Konohana Saya: (Ugh... yesterday, I'm tired and I fell asleep soon, but—)
Konohana Saya: (If I think carefully, I'm sleeping in the same room with Fushimi-kun, right? I can't calm down....)
Konohana Saya: (I feel so nervous somehow)
Konohana Saya: (I wonder if Fushimi-kun doesn't think anything of it...?)
Fushimi Saruhiko: "..............."
Konohana Saya: (He sleeps normally... I've caused so much trouble with moving task too. As I thought, he's tired isn't he......?)
Konohana Saya: (I can't keep causing trouble like this. I have to do my best!)
Konohana Saya: (Tomorrow, I will wake up early and prepare breakfast. I can only do a little bit at a time, starting with what I can do!)
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Mn... mnn... tch... it's cold..."
Konohana Saya: (Did Fushimi-kun woke up because of coldness? As I thought, it's better if I changed with...)
Konohana Saya: (....Eh, huh? He's coming here...?)
Tumblr media
Konohana Saya: "Fushimi-kun?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".....It's cold."
Konohana Saya: "Eeh...!?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....You're noisy. It can't be helped since it's cold..."
Konohana Saya: "T-Then, I'll take the kotatsu..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....It's better if you're here too."
Konohana Saya: "But, this situation is..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....Stay still. You're hanging out from futon."
Konohana Saya: "Uuh......"
Konohana Saya: (T-There's no way I can sleep in a situation like this...)
Tumblr media
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".............."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "...Saya, give me your hand."
Konohana Saya: "Hand? L-Like this...?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".........."
Konohana Saya: "Fushimi-kun?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....You are, warm."
Konohana Saya: "R-Really? ....Ah, that reminds me, something like this happened too before."
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".......?"
Konohana Saya: "On the rooftop, when we were a students. The snow was piling up, and Fushimi-kun's hands at that time were so cold too just like now..."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Oh... now that you mention it, it did happened, huh. You said something absurd like sending your feelings."
Konohana Saya: "Fushimi-kun's sensitivity to coldness didn't change."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "It's just normal."
Konohana Saya: "Fufu, you're saying the same thing like that time."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....You remember about that things very well, huh."
Konohana Saya: "I do remember. Because it's my important memories with Fushimi-kun."
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".............."
Konohana Saya: "When I think that I'm going to live together with Fushimi-kun starting from today, I'm really happy."
Konohana Saya: "It seems like I got way more carried away than I thought I would."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "You mean, being clumsy because you're too excited and dropped the futon...?"
Konohana Saya: "Uhh, from now on... I will, be careful."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....I don't mind if you're excited, but, you’re kinda putting too much pressure on yourself, aren’t you?"
Konohana Saya: "Eh?"
Fushimi Saruhiko: "Just because we're living together... don't act big unnecessarily. You're fine just the way you are..."
Konohana Saya: " Fushimi-kun...?"
Konohana Saya: (Somehow, I feel like his wording is gentler more than usual....)
Fushimi Saruhiko: ".....Tch. I know that you're always doing your best."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "That's why, just be normal. I don't need you to do your best or anything even more than necessary."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....I told you that I will live together with you, right?"
Konohana Saya: "..........."
Konohana Saya: (Fushimi-kun, you thought of it that way…)
Konohana Saya: "Thank you, Fushimi-kun. ...I love you."
Fushimi Saruhiko: "....Hm, I know."

This helps us walk up things!
I feel like a lot more fitness attention is given to squats and lunges - and understandably so. Those are great exercises. However, because we get better at what we specifically train, we can consider adding in some step ups to aid our upward trajectory!
In particular, some people struggle with joint pain as they go DOWN stairs. This sometimes puts more force through the knee because of the angle (upward usually involves the hips more). We can learn to adapt to this by practicing the reverse step up.
You don't have to do these. Squats are great. They're just another option to explore.
