Words can't even begin to describe how proud I am of Anthony Mackie. His portrayal of Sam Wilson is so beautiful; the gentleness, the kindness. Often times black people are depicted as loud, obnoxious, violent, and ignorant. And there's nothing wrong with being balck and being those things, but the intentions on why they do it is the issue. They want to stigmatize and ridicule us. But Anthony Mackie? Anthony Mackie handled this character and this message with the utmost care. Many people aren't going to agree with me, but I like that Anthony is the new captain. Because like he said, the shield means something different in his hands. As a black women, as a black person, seeing someone be unapologetically black and proud and hold a place of power and wants to evoke change brings tears to my eyes. I don't know how else to explain it other than I'm proud, I'm happy and thank you. Thank you Anthony Mackie, you don't know how many people you are impacting.

Let’s just acknowledge how...

Taehyung went from being BTS’ secret member that wasn’t shown until their debut and was skipped by people during fansigns to one of the most popular idols worldwide. Named the most handsome face of 2017, being on ads all around the world and in two major ones in times square for his birthday, having one of the greatest numbers of fansites, turning from a guy who was laughed at for his fashion by classmates to the one Vogue named the best dressed man of the night at BBMAs. Started in a drama while touring for his world tour and excelled in both making BTS, the staff and fans proud but also the public bewildered by his good acting (when they doubted him at first). Was said to be the ‘dumb one’ but proved everyone wrong by being interested in art and photography and giving in one single Vlive the wisest words of advice ever. He is not only talented and is a good singer with one of the most unprecedented attractive voices you will ever hear, but he has the kindest heart. He loves animals and babies too. He is always grateful to everyone for what he is given and perpetually asks for people to love BTS as a whole. He is still growing and is a very surprising man that I am sure will keep surprising us. Please keep looking warmly at V the artist and Kim Taehyung the individual warmly and lovingly. Today was his birthday so I hope you send him great wishes for all-embracing health, success, and happiness.

Mental illness is real and deadly, just because you don’t see blood doesn’t mean there is no bleeding. Just because you only see smiles on their faces doesn’t mean they don’t swallow tears. Just because they seem successful doesn’t mean they are happy. Depression, for example, makes you belittle yourself even if you are beautiful, rich and famous. Just like cancer, it spares NO ONE! So choose your words wisely even online. That stranger you dissed for a stupid reason may be holding into the last strings of hope and your word may be the bullet. That celebrity you hate for no reason may be devastated and lonely. That someone you always saw laughing today may finish his days tomorrow. So be kind and understanding, people. Just because you were lucky to not suffer like them doesn’t mean you can’t learn and understand. 

Today a very bright celebrity Jonghyun left and your favorite person may be next. He was handsome, rich, very talented, had millions of fans, a successful career, a huge house and expensive cars and killed himself while neglecting it all. Why? That’s what many people have been asking online:

 because when you are mentally sick, you get tired of battling yourself and even the money of the world seems meaningless. But you know the worst part? … Society judge mental illness so people keep it a secret. They hide it well and you when you ask “how are you” you automatically believe “fine” means fine. No it means ‘We are not close enough for me tell you’ or 'Even if I told you how will you understand’ or 'no one cares’ or 'there is no hope anyway’ or 'you will judge me’ … 

Most people value life and don’t understand how someone will willingly decide to give up and choose death. and many still ask: 

You know how hurt you feel when someone curses at you and you can’t even curse back because they have power over you? Imagine it like that person that scolded you to the point tears just came up. You felt lowered and hated. Of course, you will be sad for a moment but soon you will move on. Now imagine if that person was in your head 24/7 or pops up at unknown moments. Not letting you do simple things like sleeping or eating. When we hear something, again and again, we start to believe it and there is someone we always think will be truthful to us: ourselves. Just because we are saying it to ourselves we think it true and day after day … you get tired. Battling yourself is arduous and it’s at that time that nonexistence looks like the only solution to shut down the voices, reality and thoughts. So … don’t think of something like this as lightly and I hope this great man’s death will change the industry a little or at least the opinions.

Is there anyone out there, from our Blue Night family, that is crying alone tonight? Not crying out of pity for something or someone, but instead because they cannot help asking why they are living in the way that they are? Is there anyone that is feeling sentimental or guilty, needlessly? Don’t be like that. I hope that you believe that these bitter days of crying alone will prove to be the most beautiful days of your life. You’ll realize, with time, that your life is actually pretty alright. I promise you. In fact, I’ll write you a guarantee! The most beautiful thing in all the world is right now. This moment. You. Don’t ever forget that.

Artist of the Year: BTS!!

So as you all know, BTS has won Artist of the Year at MAMA, making this their second year in a row. Why did they deserve this award? Well let’s take a look, at least with all the things I remember for this past year!

Back in February, BTS released the “You Never Walk Alone” album, performing their hits “Spring Day” and “Not Today”. They only promoted for a hot second before starting their World Tour, Wings.

The group then traveled around the world, doing many shows and met thousands and thousands of fans. They especially had a successful run in the States, with all their shoes selling out within minutes.

During their first time in the States this year, many American companies and artists began to show their interest in the boys. Many people were worried that the boys would become whitewashed. But they stuck true to their colors.

BTS then went on with the tour and later got nominated for a Billboard Music Award for Top Social Artist. What’s more? They won. They stood on stage in front of many of the artists that they admire on one of the biggest music award shows. They promised they would be back in the States!

Later on in the year, BTS released the “Love Yourself” album, urging listeners all across the world to love yourself first. They performed hits like “DNA”, “Go Go” and “Mic Drop”. BTS then released their campaign with UNICEF to #EndViolence. Through this campaign, BTS will be donating $500k to UNICEF, helping so so many kids around the world. Truly an inspiration to many.

BTS then kept their promise of returning to the states when they got invited to perform at the American Music Awards, making their US TV debut. Over the course of a tight week, they went on shows like Jimmy Kimmel, James Corden, and Ellen. If people didn’t know them before, they certainly did now. Their performance was the most anticipated at the AMA’s and not a single person was sitting down when they performed. They got love calls from so many artists. They truely felt welcome and they continued to break the barriers set for them.

BTS then dropped he “Mic Drop Remix” ft Desiigner and Steve Aoki. It stayed on the US iTunes chart at number one for two whole days, beating out other songs like Havana and Thunder. They received more love calls from artists like Charlie Puth, one of Junkookies favorites.

If this wasn’t enough, they performed amazing stages at MAMA last night. And BTS won the “best music video” and “Asian style” award. And last but not least, they won “Artist of the Year”. And they clearly deserve it.

But I’d like to also shine light on the smaller things they have done. Though they’re not always promoting, they’re always keeping in touch with fans through things like twitter and V lives. They filmed for “RUN BTS” whenever they can, making my Tuesday mornings a lot more fun. They’re still the same boys they were before all their massive success. Being humble is a virtue the boys all carry so well.

This years has been huge for K-pop as a whole, not just BTS. Many artists have came out with amazing music this year. So many new fans are popping up around the world thanks to all the hard work each artist puts out. As the end of the 2017 is nearing, let’s celebrate and wish everyone well for all their hard work, they deserve it.

To BTS, my boys, my kings: You all are doing so well. You guys are the same boys I started to love four years ago and to think about all your hardships and struggles to get to where you are now? It’s heartwarming. An inspiration to never give up. Thanks for shining on light on social problems around the world. Thank you for producing great music. Thank you for showing me how to love myself more. Thank you, for being you.
