Week 8 Blog DeVry MDD410
· What did you expect to learn from MDD410 when you first signed up for the course? (one paragraph)
I didn’t know what to expect. I just told the admissions office just to sign me up for whatever I needed to complete since I am supposed to graduate in April 2018. I really didn’t care what classes I took as long it will help me get my degree in Multimedia Arts. I am really after the animation classes which I start next term.
· What did you learn that was new or that you now view in a different way? What helped you to learn this? (one to two paragraphs)
I did not know what Google Drive did or that you could draw and let others edit that and create a game with it. The week we did the lab, in week 5 we had to create a Tic Tac Toe game and allow others to play it in real time.
· What is the key takeaway that you will retain from the course as you move forward into your career field? (one paragraph)
I thought it was kind interesting how to make a AU and a 3D printable object. I like to watch Youtube.com and watch cosplay channels. Some of the professional cosplayers use 3D printing to create armor and props. Always wanted to know how that works.

Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop is a piece of software from Adobe. Systems Adobe Systems has many applications that can be used from Illustrator to After Effects. However, Photoshop is what the focus is on right now. People use Photoshop to alter photos, draw and animate. Photoshop can use and create raster images in multiple layers and supports many color models, masks and alpha composting. The word "Photoshop" has become synonymous with images that are fake or have been altered.
For example:
Here are a few pictures that were photo shopped.
http://acidcow.com/pics/70057-these-pictures-might-have-been-photoshopped-but.html
Trend to come:
Adobe Photoshop will stay as a trend for a long time. It has been used since 1988 when it was first created and is still going strong today. Granted you have to pay for a subscription if you want to keep up with the new upgrades. Which for me costs around $30 per month.
I use Photoshop with all my digital art classes and in some cases for my other classes as well.
With the new updates, Photoshop is now able to be used on tablets and other devices. The touch screen applications are pretty much out of this world. Check out https://youtu.be/PlLR9ANGsOo. As you can see you will be able to use this software on your game consoles, phones, tablets and computers to create unique photos. Change objects in the original image by just using your hands. Can we say Iron Man’s Jarvis is here? I think we can.
My Thoughts on the Technology
My thoughts on this technology is that I will most likely keeps this software for years to come. I like to be able to alter photos of my family. I have used it on my daughter’s photos to upgrade the background a little. I also have used it to make Christmas cards to send out as well.

Fads and Trends, What is the difference?
Fad:
fads a temporary fashion, notion, manner of conduct, etc., especially one followed enthusiastically by a group.
“Fad.” Dictionary.com, Dictionary.com, www.dictionary.com/browse/fad.
*Basically it is an idea or product that is popular among people at that time.
Trend:
A prevailing tendency or inclination.
A general movement.
“Trend.” Merriam-Webster, Merriam-Webster, www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/trend
*Basically it is the decrease or increase of a certain idea or product over a period of time.
Trends happen over a long period of time and have long-term influences on a market.
An example of a technology that was and still is a trend, is Facebook and it's app. Back in that day MySpace was big until Facebook came along. Facebook started when I was in my early 20's and you could only on the computer. Now it has spanned over the computer, phones and tablets. Everyone uses it.
