I read RA in polish and I think that literally not a single name was changed?? maybe of some really minor characters?

(Oh and also Tug becomes Wyrwij and Maddie's horse is named Zderzak)

But I think that one little change would've been justifiable

A0nd it's changing Horace to Horacy. It's just the polish version of the name but it makes the declination. SO. MUCH. EASIER.

Has anyone ever talked about the fact some names are a bit butchered in other languages?

Like in Dutch, most translatable names are just in Dutch, like 'Tug' turns into 'Trek', 'Blaze' becomes 'Bles' and 'Treaty' becomes 'Verdrag'.

For the rest, most names are the same, at least on paper. They do get pronounced a bit more aggresively, like the G in Gilan becomes the weird Dutch G sound and Will and Halt are suddenly more aggresive to say, but there's two that were changed.

The first was Rodney. He was turned into Roderick, which is just a Dutchified version. Not too bad.

But (if you're not Dutch) you probably don't know who Arnaut is.

It's Horace.

This has confused me so much when I started checking out the online fandom a few years ago. I was just casually wondering who this Horace guy was. Until I saw his surname, that was. Altman stayed the same, somehow.

Also, I still can't remember Schopper's name in English. Every time I'm just like "is it Striker? No, wait... maybe Puncher? Nonono.... Oh yeah, it's Kicker!"

Takes me 10 minutes every time, including while writing this.
