the way of kings is great because you have the pretty classic fantasy story of a backwater boy with magic powers he doesn't understand and a tragic backstory being mentored by an older man who knows what he's doing, except they're both women, and they both kind of suck

Madam Shyarly in One Piece fits this. Absolutely the hottest mermaid showed in the series as well, if you ask me.

why all the merdudes gotta have the cool ass shark fins? why can’t some merladies have cool sharkfins and the merdudes have some sparkly ass beautiful scales that you need metaphors about rainbows to describe
