It's my 4 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳

Woah...4 years since I started writing ML. That's interesting. Puts a lot in perspective. 4 years of this, essentially 4 years of the MWG. 4 years of having writing be a hobby I can list on tinder. 4 years of turning dormant ideas into actual work. 4 years of mulling over big projects that I've never gotten around to.

That's a lot of years. And I've changed a LOT in those years. 19yo me is unrecognisable.

That's a good thing, and I think this anniversary is a good thing.

Happy Birthday Azurite Artist, may your simulacrum of me continue for stories to come.

And to everyone I've met over the years, everyone I've come to call a friend or mutual or something? Thanks for being a part of my life so far. You've been incredible, and I'll always keep you in my heart going forward. This community taught me so much about how to be myself, through failure and success.

Truthfully, I'm worried this is nearing the end of AzuriteArtist. My other secret account (started at the same time as Azurite) for another secret fandom died in 2021, really. And I haven't posted on Azurite recently, and even during S5 I posted less than I did before. Things have changed, not necessarily for the worse, but I'd like them to be better. Even the fandom slowly died down, at least in my corner. S4 really was the height of the ML fandom (so far?).

But hopefully, things will pick up and improve again. And I'll write more. I am in a creative writing course now, and it's already improved how I think about stories and write them. I hope AzuriteArtist and the stories I want to create don't die. But I can't guarantee anything. And I don't like talking about the potential for failure, but it's never really all that useful. But maybe acknowledging the problem will nudge the solution along.

So, onwards, to the next great thing!

So I’ve been going through and adding particularly good fics I’ve read throughout the year. Only Complete fics, of course. Enjoy!

Chat Noir and Marinette decide to fake date in order to get Buttercup jealous enough to confess. Why won’t that boy make a move on such a wonderful girl as Marinette? And why is he beginning to hope that Buttercup stays blind?

Adrien wakes up in Nino’s arms. Neither of them have any explanation for this, considering they were nowhere near each other the night before. 

Marinette and Zoe uncover a ring stashed away in a closet. Why does it have an unusual effect on Chloe?

Felix isn’t careful enough when he goes snooping around the Agreste Mansion. Gabriel decides that he can’t let him roam free.

Kim bets Alix that she won’t be able to attend all of her friends’ weddings in a row. She has never been one to turn down a challenge.

Miraculous Ladybug Femslash February 2024 is here…! 

I tried to include most female characters in these ship lists, including some newer characters from Season 5.

All main girls get at least one or two pairs, but some are more popular in this chart than others. Once again, f/f starring older female characters are double-booked to allow more pairings.

I'd literally just transcribed Hesperia's intro when @azuriteartist asked for the translation, what perfect timing. I am also pretty obessed with it haha

Here's also the French version, since the song format is a bit odd to translate; I suspect the "Grand Soir" (translated to "great day", even if literally it would be "big evening"), is a reference to a revolution rather than a random thing to rhyme with "espoir" (hope): Je m'appelle Gabriel. J'étais un homme comme les autres. Mais le destin a fait de moi le seul à pouvoir lutter contre les forces du mal... Désormais je suis... Miraculous Hesperia! Miraculous! Héros courage! The purple made her kinda look hawkmoth-y. Which is...an idea. (I tried adding a monarch akuma mask using the palette, but it didn't look good)

In uni we've been doing a lot of lighting studies using a limited colour palette, so this was right on the mind. It is traced from the show, but I quite like it! Working with such a limited palette was hard, but neat!
