Art is a sport

One common thing I see among artists who are just starting out is that they are very precious about their work -- ironically, way moreso than experienced artists. They need to get every line JUST right, because in their mind, getting that line just right is what stands between the piece being bad and it being good. I was like that too, for so long that I'm still struggling to catch up because of how it hampered my progress.

Being precious about every line is kind of like a track sprinter starting a run, but then restarting every time their foot lands in any slightly suboptimal way. This is comes off as silly, because we know that the "unit" of what they are doing is a sprint, and that they would make their greatest progress by finishing the full sprints, because that's how they train.

Well, similarly, the "unit" of art is a finished piece. What stands between the sprinter and the time they want isn't 1 individual step, but 1000 sprints. What stands between the beginner artist and making art they like the look of isn't that 1 line, but, i'm sorry to say, 1000 pieces.

Taking note of any mistakes you made afterwards is something done by both the experienced artist and experienced sprinter -- this is healthy and helps you improve. But you can do that later, after you're done.

That line is good enough.

Cookie Run Ovenbreak rambles bc I downloaded it and immediately attached myself to Rambutan and Lychee Dragon Cookie (New update spoilers)

Like?? Just seeing some of the cutscenes and their interactions made me fall in love with them. They’re such gay frenemies it’s crazy

UGHHH I GOT ATTACHED AND THEN SHE DIES INSTANTLY- SHE BETTER BE FINE AFTER THIS

And the costumes?? I managed to snag both and they’re so cute?? PLUS THIS:

Overall, I love their enemies to somewhat friends relationship, and it was written really well as the story progressed. Rambutan being the final straw to turn Lychee against Longan Dragon was also super sweet. Really want to see more of them together…

Introducing our newest Lumoise City resident:

IVY!

An anxious yet hardworking waitress for…several of the cafes in Lumoise? She works erratic part time hours, saving up for a more stable life for her and her Pokémon…or so she says.

Her partner is Sinistcha, her first Pokemon from her hometown back in Kitakami. She met her Leafeon and Whimsicott as Eevee and Cottonee respectfully during a trip to Unova, and her old childhood stuffed toy became her Banette after moving to Kalos for work! She scrounged up enough money to get a Key Stone and a Banettite just so that she could make it through the battle-heavy nights of Lumoise. She keeps her key stone in a special tea cup! But overall, she prefers not to battle with her Pokemon if she doesn’t have to.

Anyways more lore to come soon but I like making pathetic women lmao-

Like…I’m loving what I’m seeing graphics-wise, and my current switch has some issues with the joycons. But at the same time I’m a little iffy on where Nintendo is going.
