Let's Begin
It was the first thing in the morning and, just like Uncle Donald had said, they were out in town to get gear and supplies. But first, they made a stop at the diner. "Okay boys," Donald began. "Today is the day you go on your adventure. But I have a question for you. Do you want to go?" Donald asked, leaning on the table.
They were all finishing up their breakfast with their Pokemon. Donald only had Purser, his Poliwrath, and Bell, his Medicham, with him. Now, it isn't typical to have more than six Pokemon, but it is allowed. It is, however, illegal to use more than six pokemon for battles. Even six pokemon in a battle is excessive. So people normally only have two or three pokemon on their teams.
Huey glanced at Louie and Malachite as Pheonix gave an excited chirp. DJ and Dewey were all for an adventure. DJ was bouncing up and down as Dewey threw his fists in the air.
"Heck yeah! I can't wait to kick butt!" Dewey exclaimed.
"Being a trainer is more than just battles, Dewey." Donald interupted.
The boys looked at him, confused.
"What do you mean?" Huey asked, taking out his JWG. "My guidebook says that 'Pokemon trainers are known for their battling skills, and their excessive battling'." He read out loud.
"Yes, that's what they're known for. But that is not everything they do." Donald explained.
"What do trainers do, than?" Louie asked.
"Most people battle as a hobby. As a trainer, it's a full time job. But being a trainer has more than battling as the daily checklist. This is why most people aren't trainers anymore. The main reason is that every professional pokemon trainer must have a book of the law and have a good idea of the rules. The reason for that is because trainers work really closely with police, and are expected to be able to help people when the police can't be there in time." Donald explained. "That's why the League is in charge. They are basically the head of the police force. It's also why they get to make the rules." He added.
"What? They can't just dump that on children." Huey said in an exasperated tone.
"They don't make the choice, you do. That's why you aren't allowed to become a trainer until you're thirteen, at the lowest. Thirteen is when you are able to make clear decisions, even if it confuses your brain and makes everything an extreme." Donald told them.
"Okay. But being what's basically a superhero? Sign me up!" Dewey said, his smile growing as he slapped his hand on the table.
"That's not the only other thing you need to know." Donald said. He took a deep breath to hold in a groan. He knew they weren't ready for this. Dammit, Della! If only Uno was here to help him. "The thing is that you are now basically an underaged parent but you don't get your own house. You're constantly traveling with your team and whoever else you pick up on the way." He explained.
"That's not that ba-"
"You also need to keep money on you at all times." Donald cut in, taking a sip of his coffee. "Every time you loose a battle, you have to pay the other person a minimum of 50P for every Pokemon they have left standing. That's part of the law. Doesn't matter if you're a trainer, if you engage in a battle, even a practice one, you need to be able to pay. So keep track of your money at all times." Donald told them.
"What?!?" Dewey exclaimed.
"Come on!" Louie groaned.
"That's not fair!" Huey complained.
"It is. It only feels unfair because if you loose, you're the one who has to pay." Donald said, gesturing for them to calm down. "But, being a trainer also has its perks. Preforming in contests, staying in hotels, and healing your pokemon at Pokecenters are all free. Everything additional that you buy there is at a discount, except for performance prices. Those are full value and very expensive. I suggest you make your own props and costumes." Donald explained.
"Wait, why do you know so much about contests?" Dewey asked.
"I will have you know that me and your mother were prized performers for two years in a row with our conjoined teams. You should have seen Private. He was so awesome. He always stole the show." Donald told them with a fond smile. Purser smacked Donalds leg, making Donald wince but chuckle. "You were great to, Purser, don't worry bud."
"Cool. Can't wait to see how contests work." Louie smiled. "All the gold..." He chuckled menacingly, rubbing his hands together.
"Unfortunately, most awards aren't actually gold. You have to be a prized performer before you can get actual trophies. But I'm sure you can get there someday." Donald corrected.
"Awe man." Louie grumbled.
"How do battles and Performances work?" Huey asked, holding a pencil, as he had been making notes in his guide book the whole time.
"I can't tell you that." Donald replied.
"Why not?" Dewey asked.
"Ever since you were little, that was the one thing your mom wanted on your adventure. She wanted you guys to figure things out as you went, just like us." Donald explained. "But for battles, they go by turn based rules. You only have one turn to do something before the other person can do something. Than your pokemon attack at the same time. You can have single battles, or double battles if you're facing two opponents." Donald whispered, as if Della would hear. Huey quickly wrote this down as Donald gave Purser a pointed look. "Don't you dare tattle, you traitor." Donald hissed, pointing at his Poliwrath. He got snickers from both Purser and DJ, Bell shaking her head from where she was sitting on the floor.
Once Huey finished writing everything down he glanced to Dewey. Dewey was thinking as hard as he possibly could about this. It was a weird sight, but Huey could understand. He glanced down at his notes before looking to Pheonix. Pheonix was looking at him with an expectant look. He let a smile slip onto his lips as he pet his Torchic, making him chirp in enjoyment. But then he looked over to his baby brother.
Louie was looking to Malachite, almost in a silent conversation. It made Huey nervous. He thought he had his answer, but to be completely honest, he would never leave if his brothers weren't with him.
"So," Huey snapped out of his thoughts, looking to his uncle. Donald put his cup down before putting his hands together and resting his head on top of them. There was a hesitant pause as he looked each boy and their pokemon in the eye. "Do you wanna go?"
"Yes!" Everyone looked to Dewey as he stood up. "This is all I've ever wanted. I can take the responsibility. Give me this chance and I can prove I can take everything thrown at me. A little hard work never hurt anyone." Dewey told their uncle.
Donald let a small smile come to his lips as he looked at his nephew in admiration.
"I think I want to go, too." They all looked over to Louie, who had his hand raised as he held Malachite in his other arm, like a child would their toy. "I think Malachite would like the travel. Plus, who knows what buisness opportunities I could get." Louie told them.
"Huey?" Huey looked at Donald. "What about you?" Donald asked. There was a moment of hesitation, but Huey slowly began to nod.
"Yeah, yeah. I can't wait to see all the pokemon. Do you know how much research I could get in? I could learn more than I could ever dream of! There's no way I'm not going!" Huey said, getting more and more excited with every word, starting to bounce in his seat and flap his hands.
Donald sighed as he flagged down a waiter. "Can we have our check, please?"
The boys were running down the street with their Pokemon as Donald and Purser walked behind them. The boys had no idea where they were going, and Donald knew that. And, right on time, the boys stopped on a street corner and looked at the signs, confused.
"Which way do we go?" Huey asked.
"Uh, maybe right?" Dewey questioned, scratching his head.
"What? I thought you guys knew where the, uh- What's it called again?" Louie asked, Malachite landing next to him.
"The DPP," Donald answered, stepping up to them. "It stands for Department of Pokemon Professions. And it's riiiiiiight there." Donald said, grabbing Louie's shoulder and gesturing to the building across the street from them. Donald held in a chuckle as Dewey threw his head back in a groan, Louie facepalmed, and Huey shook his head in disappointment. "Come on, don't beat yourself up. Me and Della did the same thing when we got our license, and we were older than you.
"Yeah, by like a year." Dewey grumbled, crossing his arms.
"Three, actually. But that was a good guess, Dewey." He corrected, patting said nephew on the head before ushering them across the street.
"What! You were sixteen when you started your adventure?" Dewey exclaimed.
"Yep. Scrooge was just as terrified as me and didn't have a second opinion to bounce off of, so he refused to let us go for years until Mrs. Beakley finally put her foot down. Good thing was that we got to travel with our cousins. Well, maybe not 'good thing', but it's what happened." Donald told them. "But, that also means you three are the youngest in the family to get your licenses." He added.
"Wow." Huey breathed out, clutching his JWG close to his chest.
Donald opened the door for them before leading them to the front desk. A young lady was at the front desk, sorting papers. It usually took two days for trainers-to-be to come into the DPP, so it was understandable that she wasn't really doing much. The four walked up to her.
The woman noticed them and gave a smile as she put the papers to the side. "Hello there. What can I help you with today?" She asked them.
Donald leaned on the desk. "Three trainers licenses, please." Donald said, putting three fingers up to emphasize his words.
It took a moment for the woman to realize what he said, making Donald a little annoyed, but when she did realize what he said her smile grew. "Oh, you guys came in early. Are you excited for your adventure?" The woman asked the boys, logging into her computer.
"Oh my gosh, yes!" Dewey exclaimed, grasping the counter. DJ began jumping at his side as he squealed in excitement. Dewey picked the pokemon up. "We are going to be the best duo the world has seen. Mom is gonna be so jealous!" He announced, making his brothers shake their heads.
"Wow, that sounds exciting. What about you four?" The lady asked the other boys and their pokemon.
"Oh! I'm gonna learn all I can about our world! Can you imagine all the things we haven't discovered about Pokemon yet? It's amazing!" Huey said, bouncing with his book and Torchic in his arms.
"I bet. And what about you? What are you excited for?" The lady asked.
Louie just shrugged as he pet Malachite, who was sitting on the counter. "Not much. I just want to see what buisness opportunities I can get." Louie replied.
"That's a good idea. There are jobs all around the region that need you to be a trainer to apply for. I like your thinking kid." The woman slightly rambled. She pulled up the stuff she needed and smiled. "Okay, lets begin. We'll have all your stuff out here in no time. Do you have explorer bags at home?" The woman asked.
"Yes, they do." Donald nodded.
The woman smiled, as she didn't need to figure out what Donald said because of the nod. "Great. Than we'll just give you your stuff in grocery bags. Now. Do you already have X-Trancevers?" The woman asked.
"X-Trancevers?" Louie asked.
"X-Trancevers, they're also known as X-Trans. They came out a few years ago and are now mandatory for all trainers. They help you while traveling, being anything ranging from a map to a multi-person screen caller. It can even send Pokemon to people to watch over, or trade them." Donald explained, Huey taking notes again.
"Oh, than no, we don't." Dewey said.
"Okay, you'll each get one. That's an extra tax on the gear, though." The lady said with a guilty expression.
"Don't worry. I can cover it." Donald waved off.
"... Oh, okay." The lady said once she processed his words. She typed it down in her computer. "Are you traveling together?" She asked the boys.
The boys traded looks before answering. "Yes." They all said, together. The woman giggled at this as she typed it in.
"Great. So you'll only need one rule book and trainer guide. Than I'll print out some papers you need to fill out individually before we get your licenses and gear ready. Oh, and sir?" Donald signaled she had his attention. "Do you want them to have a tent or two?" She asked.
"No thank you. Can they just get sleeping bags?" He asked.
"... Yes we can. Do you also want them to have pouches to hold Pokeballs in idle mode?" She asked.
"Yes please." Donald nodded.
"Great. You can go sit down for a moment and I'll bring the forms over in just a moment. We should have your gear ready within the hour." The lady informed.
"Thank you." Donald said as the boys began to walk towards the seats.
"Oh, it was no trouble." The woman said, already knowing what he was gonna say. Donald gave her a great full smile before walking over to his boys.
It had been an hour and they had gotten their things from the lady at the fronts. "And here are your ID cards." The lady said, holding out three cards out to the boys. They awed at the cards as they each gently picked theirs up. Without warning, they started to jump around in excitement, whooping and cheering together. The only Pokemon bouncing around with them was DJ, who was snickering as he danced with them.
The lady giggled as Donald and Purser grabbed the bags of gear. "Thank you again, ma'am." He said.
"Huh? Oh, you're welcome, sir. I hope they do well. Now, have a good day." She replied with a smile and a wave.
"You too." He said, making his way to the door. "Come on boys! We got more shopping to do!" Donald called, getting them to follow him as they danced and cheered, Pheonix and Malachite following behind.
They raced around town, getting everything they could think of that they needed. They even stopped by Fethry to get their own specialized pokedex's, his treat. Donald had told the lady to hold the pokedex's before they turned the forms in earlier. The boys were being very smart with what they got, watching their allowance money as they bought potions and antidotes. They even got a pass for helper pokemon, for a whole year. Donald smiled, softly. Maybe they were ready for this.
They were now outside of the houseboat with their bags. Their Pokemon were in their balls and Donald was currently checking them over. "So, you're all ready? Last chance to back out." Donald told them.
"We're ready." Dewey said.
"We're not missing this chance." Huey added.
"Or else this whole day was a waist." Louie finished.
Donald chuckled. "Okay." He than checked his watch. "The sun goes down in three hours. The next town is four hours away. Are you sure you don't want to stay here tonight?" He asked them.
"We'll be fine, Uncle Donald." Huey said. "We have a fire type with us, and plenty of flashlights, so we have more than enough things to be able to see. And we have plenty of potions, so we'll be able to heal our Pokemon on our way there." Huey said.
"Just remember, you have a limited amount of potions and antidotes." Donald reminded.
"Yes, Uncle Donald." The boys all said together.
"You're welcome back any time. Now get going, before it gets too dark to start walking." Donald told them. He watched as the boys waved their goodbyes and began to walk away. He watched as they whispered stuff to each other as they walked. What confused him was when they stopped and dropped their bags.
Without any warning, the boys came running at him to tackle him in a hug. He stumbled back a little, but kept his balance. He held his boys tightly, knowing they would be gone when he let go.
"We love you, Uncle Donald." Dewey whispered to his uncle. Donald tightened the hug, nuzzling into his boys to hide his teary eyes.
"I love you three, so much. Please, be safe." He mumbled.
"We promise." Huey quietly replied.
"We always will be." Louie added.
"Okay." Donald breathed out.
They all stood in that hug for what felt like an amazing eternity before the boys let go. They waved once more before grabbing their bags again and walking off. Donald watched them walk, refusing to cry until they were out of sight. They kept peaking glances back until they finally turned a corner.
Donald finally broke down into tears, almost falling to the ground. His Pokemon brought him inside and sat him on the couch, Cutlass laying his head on Donalds lap as the rest of his pokemon tried to calm him down.
He was not ready for this.
The boys were set up in a hotel room in the town their Uncle had told them about. They were forced to all share a bed, but it was fine. I mean, they were used to it. It was the cheapest option, and they always did it on vacation with their uncle. Donald couldn't always afford more than one room, so he would get a room with two beds and two boys would share one bed while the other slept with Donald. It's just how they were.
The three were laying in their bed as their Pokemon slept in a pile at the foot of the bed. Again, Louie couldn't sleep, but he wasn't alone this time.
"Hey, guys?" He asked in a hushed voice.
"Yeah?"
"What is it, Louie?" His brothers asked in mumbled voices.
"Can we make a promise?" He asked.
"What promise?" Huey asked.
"Promise me we won't be against each other. I mean, we'll be against others, and even hate them, but let's never let that happen to us. We're in this together and always support each other through anything. Promise me?" Louie asked, sounding almost scared. His brothers didn't need to look at each other.
Dewey hugged his little brother. "I promise." He mumbled, a sleepy smile on his face as he nuzzled into his brother.
"Me too." Huey replied, bringing his brothers into a protective hold.
Louie smiled as he laid between them, cuddling closer so he felt safer. "Thanks, guys."
They didn't have trouble sleeping after that.

Epilog
Donald doesn't want to admit it, but he knew this day was coming.
Donald is reading the paper as he sips on his coffee. Cutlass, his Keldeo, is sitting at his feet. It was a quiet morning, as his boys had gone into town to get each other presents, and get icecream. They did this every year for their birthday. They would spend hours in town as he got the house boat ready for their family party. They were probably visiting Uncle Scrooge right now. He always comes into town for their birthday, ever since their eleventh one. The boys were thirteen today.
The rest of Donald's Pokemon were off doing something to get ready for the party. They always liked get small presents for the boys. They all usually come back with random things that they find near the docks. Cutlass had alread gotten his present for the kids before anyone had waken up, as always. Every year, Donald would take their small presents and put them into three boxes for the boys. The boys got a lot of bobbles and trinkets every year.
Donald took another sip of his coffee before giving a sigh. A nice, relaxing day was just what he needed. He felt a tap on his leg, causing him to look down at his side. Chief, his Primeape, had a box in one of his hands, three small, differently colored bells on top of it. Donald was a little more than curious at this.
"Hey, Chief. Late mail? That hasn't happened in a while." Donald said, reaching for the box. Donald paused when Chief shook his head. "Did someone give it to you?" Donald asked. Chief nodded. "Do we know them?" Another nod. Donald sighed in relief as he gently took the box from his Primeape. "Thank you. I like the bells. They'll look great on the boards." He smiled, making Chief jump in joy before running off to find the other Pokemon. "Don't fall off the boat again!" He shouted.
Donald waited a moment before he heard a comedic splash. Cutlass sighed at the same time Donald shook his head. Cutlass raced out to go help Chief as Donald turned his attention back to the package. "What could you be?" He asked, taking the tiny bells off. He took the letter out from under the string that held the paper package together. He looked at both sides with a critical eye. It was addressed to him and he knew that handwriting anywhere. Della. He carefully ripped the envelope open and unfolded the paper inside.
'Dear, Donald'
Oh boy. She's scared. He could tell by the formality. Despite that, he continued to read.
'I know you said they weren't ready, but I think they are. But, ultimately, this is your choice. Inside the package are three Pokemon I think the boys would like. Uncle Scrooge helped me choose them.
Scrooge is already counting the days until the boys come to challenge him. He thinks they're going to be the youngest league challengers yet. Please, just consider it. Besides, Feathry and Gladstone are excited to see them on the road.
Gosalyn and Webby are getting their Pokemon today as well, funny enough. I promise, I had nothing to do with it! My boys just happened to be born on a national holiday where children thirteen and older come together with Pokemon and become trainers. I don't make the rules.'
Yes she did.
'Well, I hope you think about it. Just remember, this is your call. You are allowed to say no if you want to. I'm spending time with the boys before they go back to the house boat. I have a meeting down here, so I thought it was perfect. See you this weekend.
Sincerely, Della.
P.S. Daisy wants you and the boys to call her before the party starts. I hope you got her package.'
Donald inwardly groaned as he leaned his head so far back, he thought his chair was going to fall back. He heard a clicking noise at his side, causing him to look over to see Cutlass looking at him with concern. He looked at the package on the table before nodding.
"It's time."
-
"Happy birthday to you~!" Donald finished singing. The boys blew their candles out, trying to see who could blow out the most. He could hear Killick, his Gearadose, make a chuckling sound from out the window. Donald and his many Pokemon cheered once all the candles were out, making the boys smile happily.
"Present time!" Dewey shouted, standing on his chair and throwing his hands in the air. Huey and Louie snickered as Donald gave Dewey a stern look, causing the boy to quickly sit down.
"Okay, you can have your presents. First, team presents." Donald said. He pushed up three presents in distinct colored wrapping. The boys always got their favorite colors to mark their gifts. They each opened their gifts to see an assortment of things that were clearly found around the docks. Stuff people had dropped, things that had fallen off of peoples clothing, loose change, really smooth pebbles that looked like specific things, ect. They each had eleven things in their boxes if Donald had counted correctly, and he knew he had. And like every year, they thought it was adorable and thoughtful. They, of course, gave each Pokemon their praises and pets.
Donald put down their present from Daisy, split into three boxes. The boys opened their presents to find they had gotten specially made explorer bags with their names on them. Dewey got an over-the-shoulder bag while Huey and Louie got backpacks. They loved the presents so much, but were confused why they got adventure bags instead of school bags.
"Okay, your last present of the day." Donald said, pushing a paper wrapped package towards the boys. The boys were confused by this, a lot more than before.
"Last present? No clothes?" Louie asked.
"Don't you get us clothes every year?" Dewey asked.
"Yes, he does." Huey confirmed, relying on his memory alone.
Donald sighs with a chuckle. He knew they would question him.
"Boys, you still get clothes, but they're already hung up in your closet." Donald told them. "This present is from Della, Uncle Scrooge... and me." Donald explained. The boys couldn't miss the hesitation in his words. "Go ahead. I'll explain when you see what it is." Donald told them with a reassuring smile.
The boys looked between each other to see who would open it. Louie grabbed onto Deweys arm as Huey reached for the package. He undid the string and pulled off the paper before taking the lid off. They peaked inside and saw something they thought they would never see. There were three pokeballs sitting in the box.
They all looked to their uncle with shock. There was no way in a million years that their uncle was going to let them go on an adventure alone, let alone out of his own free will. There was just no way. Donald must have seen the hint of suspicion because he just gave them a reassuring look.
"I admit, it wasn't my idea. Della sent them this morning while you were out in town with her and Scrooge. I got a letter explaining she thought you guys were ready to go on an adventure. She picked them with Scrooge, but it was my decision to give them to you. I think you guys are more than ready to go, and that scared me for the longest time. But it doesn't matter how I feel. I'm giving you permission to go on an adventure. Now it's your decision to make." Donald rambled. He watched the boys trade looks before standing. Before Donald knew it, he was tackled in a hug with three pairs of arms.
Donalds pokemon watched with admiration as the boys hugged their uncle. Donald held them close, almost scared to let go, and his Pokemon knew it. But once they did let go, Donald gestured with his head to the gift box. The boys carefully brought the box over to Donald.
"Can you introduce us?" Huey asked with a sheepish smile.
Donalds surprise melted into gentle joy as he carefully took the box from them. "Of course." He nodded. The boys stepped back as Donald stood and put the box down. He grabbed one Pokeball and looked at the label that was under it. With a press of a button, a red and orange puffball came out and landed on the table with a chirp. "Torchic, the fire type pokemon." He told them.
Huey smiled as he looked at the bird. He didn't need a second opinion. He stepped up to the Torchic and leaned down to be face to face with it. "Hi, I'm Huey. Do you wanna be my pokemon?" He asked in a hushed voice. Donald's heart seemed to melt as the Torchic carefully walked over and nuzzled into Huey's face. Huey giggled as he picked the chick up. "I'm gonna call you Pheonix." He said with a bright smile. Phoenix chirped in agreement as Huey walked over and sat on the couch with him.
Donald didn't need to say anything before grabbing the next pokeball. He pressed the button and let a blue blob land on the table. It looked at the boys before snickering. "Piplup, the water type." Donald introduced.
"Oh my gosh, you are adorable!" Dewey squealed. He ran up with an excited smile. "Do you know any tricks? Can I be your trainer? Can I call you DJ? It's short for Dewey Jr." Dewey asked. The Piplup nodded excitedly and Dewey picked him up with a bubbling laugh. "This is the best day of my life!" He exclaimed, spinning around. He sat on the ground, near Huey, so he could play with DJ.
Louie was distracted by his brothers until a flash of light caught his eye. He looked back over to Donald to see a pokemon he recognized. "And this is Rowlet, the grass type pokemon." Donald introduced.
Louie pulled a chair up to sit in front of the Rowlet. "I remember you." He mumbled, laying his head on his arms.
"You know each other?" Donald asked in surprise.
"Yeah, me and Uncle Fethry found him hurt last time it was just him and me. His wing wasn't working too good, so we took him in. He's pretty chill if I remember." Louie explained. He pet the Rowlet's head with a lazy smile. "I guess I got to keep you after all." Louie whispered.
Huey and Dewey cooed from the sidelines, getting a glare from their brother. Louie was about to bark back at them when the Rowlet tucked himself under his chin and in his arms. He hummed in satisfaction, closing his eyes. "Thanks, bud. I'm gonna call you Malachite." Louie mumbled, letting his eyes close, lazily.
"I'm glad you guys are getting along. We'll go get your gear first thing in the morning." Donald told them, getting cheers from all three of the boys, plus DJ and Pheonix.
-
Everyone was asleep. Donald's Pokemon always slept scattered around the houseboat, hiding wherever they could fit. Huey was asleep with Pheonix sleeping next to his head. Dewey was asleep, his body sprawled out across the bed. DJ was on his chest, also sprawled out. Donald was asleep in his room, the only Pokemon sleeping in his room with him was Cutlass and Private, his Blastoise. The only ones not asleep were Louie and Malachite.
Louie couldn't fall asleep, and Malachite could sense this. They sat on his bunk in silence for a good while. Louie knew it was well past midnight by now, but he just couldn't sleep.
"Malachite?" His Rowlett looked up at him, sitting across from him. "Do you want to go on an adventure?" Louie asked in a whisper.
Malachite tilted his head.
"If you don't want to battle that's fine. If you want to stay here, than we can stay here. I'm not going to do anything you don't want to do." Louie said.
Malachite walked over to his leg and nuzzled it, causing him to chuckle.
"Does that mean it's my choice?" He asked.
Malachite looked him in the eye.
"Okay." He mumbled. "What do we do now?" Louie asked, reaching for his blanket as the room began to get cold.
Malachite walked over to his pillow before faceplanting into it.
Louie let out a soft chuckle at this. "Sleep. Sleep is good." Louie mumbled in amusement as he pulled his blanket higher and laid on his pillow as well. Malachite rolled under the blanket and under Louie's chin, getting him to latch onto the Rowlet out of instinct. "Goodnight, Malachite. I love you." He yawned before they both fell asleep.
Huey sat in bed, staring at the wall as he listened to his baby brother begin to snore. He didn't know what to think of what he had just heard. Huey was always a light sleeper, so Louie had woken him up with his first word. Oh how he regretted it. What was he supposed to think? His brother might not be with them tomorrow because his Pokemon might want to stay with Uncle Donald... But that wasn't always a bad thing. It was just unexpected. That's what he reminded himself. Everyone is different and has different priorities. So do pokemon. It's best to just think about it tomorrow.

Writing Prompts
"I saved every letter you wrote me."
"Should I care?"
"Perfectly imperfect."
"Would that be enough?"
"Could I be enough?"
"It's quiet uptown."
"I love you too much."
"I'm your wife!"
"Couldn't I be enough for once?"
"I'm sorry it's not satisfying, Mr. Perfect, but it's all I've got."
"You'll never be satisfied, will you?"
"... My window..."
"Okay, but why?"
"Fool, I'm not actually a man! I'm actually... a man!"
"Who died and made you sultan?"
"... Again?"
"Burger demons... Again?"
"Pikachu, use charm!"
"... Holy sh;t it actually worked."
"Look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now."
"Stay..."
"You can stay!"
"Since when were you a god?"
"... Thanks."
"Just my luck."
"I remember when we met."
"Pokemon suck" "You take that back!"
"Fight me, (name)!"
"Oh my g@d. What is that?"
"Die, coward!"
"Babe, shut up."
"Well f<ck me gently with a chainsaw."
"Since when were you a queen?" "Since when were you so nosy?"
"Monkey, monkey, monkey man."
"You know, for kids!"
"Tomogochi is life."
"It would be weird if I didn't know him. He is my boss, after all."
"That's adorable."
"Cute?"
"Well hello there, shadow man. I hope you've had a good lunch today."
"No weapons at the table."
"No! Down Cerberus! Bad dog!"
"We just have a lot of laughs..."
"We are the first of many."
"Wait, your dad was a sorcerer?"
"Bad day?" "You have no idea."
"Today's my lucky day!"
"Nothing can stop me now-"
"That's underrated, really."
"A horror movie?"

BLOOD WARNING ⚠️
Rap Battle Hero
Everything was going great in the lab. They'd only had one experiment explode today. Scrooge and his family also came down to praise Gyro and hang out with Fenton, or they were just dragged along. Fenton had walked out of the lab to get cleaning supplies because their supply closet was destroyed in the daily explosion.
Huey was looking over Gyro's notes while he was distracted by Scrooge and Donald was rangling in his brothers, and Webby. He was about to figure out how the formula worked when the elevator dramatically burst open. Everyone looked over to see something that looked like a shadow in a long sleeve shirt and a cape. Donald quickly stepped in front of the children next to him while Scrooge hid Huey behind himself.
The shadow looked over all of them before landing on Scrooge and Gyro. He pointed at them with a sinister look. Huey could tell the shadow would be smiling if it had the capability.
"Where are you hiding that shrink ray?" It asked the two adults.
Scrooge and Gyro knew the answer already, but glanced at each other nonetheless. Scrooge was the one to speak up.
"I'm sorry, but I don't believe you have the authority to ask that." Scrooge said with a smug smile. It was just another shadow monster, he could take it.
"Uncle Scrooge!" Scrooge heard Webby call. "That's a Rhythamow, a shadow like creature from the beginning of spoken language itself. Legend has it you should never willingly enter an encounter with it. Only words can defeat it. Unless you know what to say, it is impervious to harm." Webby explained.
Scrooge scoffed at this. It couldn't be that hard to yell it into submission. He would have been completely confident of the creature didn't give a menacing chuckle.
"I'm sorry, but you'll not be getting any farther. I hope that's okay." The shadow almost purred. And right in front of them it began to morph into a giant jaguar. Scrooge took an instinctive step back as it went on all fours.
Huey was quickly pushed to the side by Gyro, hiding him behind the desk more, also bringing him closer to Donald. Huey took the opportunity of Scrooge's distraction to run over to his siblings and uncle. Donald quickly grabbed Huey and put him right behind his self, never looking away from the Rhythamow.
There was a moment of silence and tension as Scrooge and the monster stood in a Mexican stand off. Gyro had a ray gun in his hand, aimed straight at the beast, ready to shoot once it moved. Donald had the kids backed up against the destroyed supply closet, holding a defensive stance, ready to protect his kids by any means necessary. Huey could see just by the look in his uncles eye that he wasn't going down without a fight. Huey glanced around at the kids around him. Louie looked terrified of what was about to happen while Dewey and Webby looked ready for battle. And in a split second, he made a decision he hoped he wouldn't regret.
The shadow roared as it jumped at Scrooge, who quickly jumped back. All at once the chaos began. Gyro began to shoot the beast as Donald ran towards his uncle. Dewey and Webby were about to chase after him so they could join the fun, when Huey pushed all his siblings into the supply closet. There was no door and not much protection, but where else was he supposed to put them to keep them even remotely safe? This was his best option, and the quickest.
Donald jumped onto the jaguar, locking his hands together around its neck as he pulled back. It reared back before quickly shaking him off and batting him to the side. Scrooge went to get a hit in, but a dark claw came down on him, leaving a deep cut in his arm. He was lucky he dodged in time to only get one cut. He bared his teeth to try and bite down the pain, switching his cane to his other hand as he fought the beast's claws away.
Gyro was still shooting, but realized that his gun did nothing. He stopped himself and threw the gun to the side before running to the other side of the room and sliding behind a work bench. He grabbed the prototype of what looked to be a nromal gun. He jumped up and began to shoot at the shadow again with tiny bombs. He watched the beast with every small explosion, and saw no reaction except annoyance. Gyro growled as he dropped the prototype back on the desk and looked around for what could work.
Huey watched as his uncles fought the beast the best they could, but could tell they weren't winning. He tried to think as his siblings tried to get past his arms and fight along side their family. Huey refused to let them fight after he saw the blood seeping out of his uncles arm. All he saw was chaos. But he quickly realised that nothing could hurt the beast and all of the adults were yelling at it, but none of it was working. Huey was terrified, and Louie was crying behind him as he tried his best to keep Dewey and Webby in the closet. He had no idea how he was keeping both of them in the closet, but refused to let them go.
Scrooge slammed into the metal wall of the lab, leaving a giant dent behind him as he fell to the ground with a disgusting 'thud'. He tried to stand but Gyro was thrown on top of him. He had been caught while trying to figure out what he could use against the beast. Gyro was groaning as he sat up, but Donald was then brutally added to the pile after being slammed to the ground and batted over to them. Donald was out cold as he laid in Gyro's lap, and Scrooge was sure he was close to joining him. Gyro tried standing, but yelped as he moved his arm. It was definitely out of its socket.
The Rhythamoe turned to the kids with bared teeth as he stocked towards them. Huey's siblings weren't fighting to leave anymore. Huey stood protectively in front of them as the beast came face to face with him. Their faces were inches apart and it was terrifying how he couldn't feel it breath.
"Where is it?" The shadow beast asked.
"I don't know." Huey answered without hesitation. He was scared, not stupid. Of course he wasn't gonna lie to the thing.
"What is this? What do you mean you don't know?" The beast asked.
Louie stood up, still terrified and crying, but he came forward and grabbing his brothers arm. "He said he doesn't know! Will you just let it go!" He yelled. Both him and Huey saw the beast flinch slightly, and Huey swore it's ears got just a centimeter smaller. Something clicked in Louie's head, Huey could tell with just a glance.
The beast raised it's claw, and was about to swipe at them, when they heard a door open. "Sorry it took so long. The elevator was broken so I had to take the- Que pasó aquí!" Fenton exclaimed from the opposite side of the lab, towards where the adults were piled together. He had dropped his mop and bucket, causing the water to spill all over the floor.
The beast looked back at him and Huey could feel it's smile. "Another one? It is so." The beast purred as he stalked away from the children and ready to circle Fenton.
"What are you?" He asked, a little scared.
"Fenton!" Everyone except the beast looked to Louie. "It's a rhyming monster! It only speaks in rhymes and can't be hurt! Use his words against him!" Louie shouted.
Fenton heard the slight growl of the dark jaguar, making him smile. "Huey!" He shouted. "What are the rules?" He asked, no trace of fear in his voice as he eyed the beast.
Huey was speaking before he even realized what was going on. "No swearing, no using other songs, but other languages are allowed." Huey named off. His brain finally caught up to everything and he mouthed an 'oh' as Fenton loosened his tie and took it off, throwing it on the ground.
"Just swearing? Okay." Fenton's smile seemed to grow more. Gyro groaned loudly on the sidelines and Scrooge was quickly catching onto what was going on. Webby and Dewey were still confused, but they usually were. Louie whipped out his phone and quickly went on a music app so he could play out a beat. Fenton rolled his shoulders as he stepped a little closer to the beast.
"Epic rap battles of Duckburg." Louie said in as deep of a voice as he could muster. "Fenton Cracksell-Cabrera vs the Rhythamow. Begin." He finished.
"Yo." Fenton started. "Who the heck are you? You come onto my grounds and think you can just do what you do? Unbelievable really, just coming over, thinking we're a bunch of kiwis. I mean, madre de Dios, who do you think I am? You walk in all 'excuse me ma'am' and think I wouldn't set you on fire? Look at you, you're on the ground, I'm getting higher. Magica called, she wants her shadow back. This is like a video game. What do I get? Counter attack." Fenton rapped, the most confident any of them had ever seen him. Everyone could tell the shadow had gotten smaller, but not too small.
"That was very generous of yo-"
"I'm not finished." Fenton cut in. The shadow shrunk again at his words. "You think I'm gonna stand here and get diminished? Nah man, I'm just messing around. But now we see who's really got the crown." There was a second or two of silence before Louie dramatically brought the beat back in. "I'm singing a little song. You best just move along. Just watch me and tell me I'm lying. You'll be swept up like dust while I'm reclining. Nothing in life is fair, that's what they all say. But hey, it's not my fault that you're just going crazy. You're just a little theif while I'm the God that's growing. I'm fighting a war, but you'd never know it. I'm that good! Do you think that I'm blind? You thought I was easy, well guess, what I'm blowing minds. I guess this is a video game. I'm the boss and you can't beat me. You're all trying to find a way, but you can't cheat me. I'm the God of lightning, just call me Zeus. I'm the conductor of this train while you're stuck at the caboose. Nothing's changed since we began. Well, maybe your heehaw. But that? We'll just forget it. Let's pretend that we never saw."
The kids went wild and the beast was about the size of a big puppy at this point. Louie decided to go faster and that just made Fentons smile grow.
"That's no-"
"Oh I'm not even close to done." Fenton interrupted again. "This is a speed round, so guess you better run. Did you think you could just attack a child and get away with it because you're from the wild. Get that thought out of your head. If you rather I mop, I could use that instead to beat you into submission. I never murdered anyone, but I'll make you my addition to the line of killers around the world. If I'm Freddy Krueger, than you're a little girl. You're an easy target I can defeat. I don't have me suit, but can I still grind you to meat. So here's a suggestion. How about you don't fight my familia. I'm just saying, if you didn't, this would be a lot easier. Don't you think it's funny how I wrecked you and you can't even say a word? You thought you could best me, but I'm still undeterred. I guess this is a lesson to never mess with me." Fenton walked over to the shadow that was now the size of a spider. He picked it up by the back of the neck and grabbed an open jar. "So how about you stay in there and sit reverently." He finished as he dropped the shadow into the jar. He grabbed the lid and screwed it on as the shadow shouted at him, back in its original form.
"Fenton!" Fenton looked over only to be tackled to the ground by Dewey and Webby, still holding the jar. "What was that?" Dewey asked.
"That was amazing!" Webby squealed.
"Teach me how to do that!"
"How did you do that? It didn't even look like you took a breath the whole time! "
"Fenton, you are my new favorite uncle!"
"You're almost as cool as granny!"
The two kept yelling on top of him as Huey rushed over to the adults. Scrooge was smiling proudly, but getting drowsier by the second. Gyro was trying not to show he was impressed, but was failing enough to let Huey see that he was. Donald was still out cold but he could hear his uncles quiet snores. Huey looked back to Gyro to see that his arm would be the easiest thing to take care of. He walked over to Gyro and hesitated as he reached for his arm.
"Ready?" He asked the scientist.
"Just do it." Gyro grumbled. Huey quickly grabbed his arm and pushed it upwards. Gyro let out a pained hiss but began to push Donald off once Huey let go. His arm still hurt, but at least he could use it now. He stood up and both him and Huey helped Scrooge stand. Louie walked over and knelt next to Donald, worried to death about his uncle.
Fenton finally got the two excitable kids off of him before standing. He put the jar on the desk before looking behind him to see Huey and Gyro helping Scrooge to a seat that wasn't damaged or destroyed, which was across the room. "Wait! Stop!" Fenton exclaimed as he rushed over. He stepped in front of the three to stop them before quickly putting one arm behind Scrooge. He put Scrooge's hurt arm on his stomach before just sweeping the old man off the ground and bringing him to Gyro's desk, which was mostly not harmed.
He laid Scrooge down as the other two curiously followed him. "He needs to stay still. Huey, get me a clean cloth. Gyro, call the police and tell them we need medical attention." Fenton ordered. The two nodded before immediately getting to work. Fenton glanced over to see Louie and Webby sitting next to Donald in panic. "Louie, bend Donalds leg a little so we know he has blood flow. Webby, tilt his head back and make sure he keeps breathing." Fenton ordered. Webby saluted and the two got to work.
Huey raced back over to Fenton with a small towel. "Here you go. I hope it's okay." He said.
Fenton took the towl and smiled. "That's perfect, thank you. Now go over and see if you can see any signs of spinal damage on Donald." He told the young boy.
"On it." Huey said as he ran off. Fenton looked back down to Scrooge to put the towel over the cut and put pressure on it. He then finally noticed Dewey on the other side of the desk, just watching Fenton in astonishment.
"How do you know all of this?" Dewey asked. "And how can you carry Uncle Scrooge?" Dewey added.
Fenton gave a calm smile as he tried to stay focused on Scrooge. "My m'ma is a police officer and detective. She made sure I was able to take care of others when she couldn't. And your Uncle Donald was the one that taught me all my medical knowledge. He's a very smart man." Fenton explained.
Dewey glanced back at his uncle in confusion. He knew his uncle knew this stuff and was always careful about everything, but he never questioned why. He just thought it was annoying. But now he wondered what incident caused his uncle to be so cautious.
"Their on their way." Gyro said, walking over. "I'll take over. Go check on Donald." Gyro said.
"Of course." Fenton quickly let Gyro take over before rushing over to Donald.
Louie was the first one to see Fenton rush over. He got Huey and Webby out of the way as Fenton slid over to them so he could kneel at Donalds side. He double checked Donald to see that they had done what he said. But he also saw a peice of green cloth under Donalds head. He looked to Louie to see a part of his sleeve was ripped off.
"What happened?" Fenton asked.
Louie rubbed his arm, tears coming to his eyes again. "His head was bleeding, so I did what he told me and covered in. I didn't want to risk hurting him by holding it to his head so I just laid it under him. I also didn't want to ruin your tie, so I used my jacket instead." Louie explained.
"Thank you Louie. That was a good move." Fenton praised. He double checked Donalds breathing to see it was almost perfectly normal. "Okay, he's not too back, but him and Mr. McDuck will both need stitches. Webby, go upstairs and wait for the paramedics. They won't be able to use the elevator and they might not know how to get to us." Fenont said.
"Yes sir." Webby nodded as she raced up the stairs he had come from earlier.
"Question." Huey asked. "Where are Manny and Lil Bulb?" He asked.
"They're off for the day. We had everything handled, so we let them have the rest of the day off." Fenton said without hesitation. He was too focused on Donald and trying to see if there were more injuries. He lifted Donald's shirt to check and didn't find anything but a lot of bruises. He hummed in thought at this, but put Donalds shirt back. He checked Donalds arms next.
"What was that for?" Louie asked.
"What was what for?" Fenton asked.
"That hum." Louie replied.
"Oh, your uncle has a lot of bruises in his abdominal area. It's not likely, but there's a chance he has internal bleeding." Fenton calmy explained as he checked Donalds arms over. There was nothing to indicate major injuries. "Those bruises were too quick to be anything good. But it could just be a cracked or broken rib." Fenton continued.
"So, Uncle Donald got the worst of it?" Huey asked as Louie looked like he was beginning to have a panick attack.
Fenton took notice of Louie and quickle slid over to him. "Hey, breath, Donalds okay. It's nothing he and the hospital can't handle. Everything will be alright, I promise." Fenton tried to sooth, trying to get Louie to take deeper breaths.
Huey watched in wonder and slight worry as Louie started crying again as he asked Fenton questions and Fenton just answered while holding him and trying to get him to relax. Huey never knew what to do in these situations. Only Uncle Donald could calm Louie down when he had a panic attack, but Fenton seemed to have things under control.
Soon everyone looked over as they heard the patter of feet running down the stairs. Webby was the first to emerge from the stairwell as she announced the arrival of the paramedics. Soon, the room was swamped with people trying to get the two really hurt people up the stairs and usher everyone else out at the same time. Fenton quickly grabbed the jar with the shadow, who was very slowly beginning to grow again.
It had been thirty minutes since they left and now Fenton, Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby were sitting in the waiting room. Soon, Gyro came out to join them, his arm now in a sling. They waited for around another hour until a doctor came out with clipboard. The dog looked them over before smiling. "Donald and Scrooge, I assume?" He asked.
Without warning, the kids were at his feet, begging for information about their uncles. Fenton quickly tried to round them up as Gyro just looked annoyed.
"Yes, we are." Gyro said, grabbing Webby by the back of her shirt as Fenton picked up the boys with a little bit of struggle. They sat the kids back down as the doctor chuckled to himself.
"Okay, good. The good news is that they'll both make a smooth recovery." The doctor told them. The kids sighed in relief, along with Fenton.
"And the bad news?" Gyro asked.
"It's not bad news, just not great news." The doctor began. "They'll both be staying for two nights, and then they can go home. Mr. McDuck's arm will be in a sling and he won't be able to use that arm until his wound completely heals. That can be from around a month to six months depending on how much he bends the rules. Don't let him break the rules."
"What about Uncle Donald?" Dewey asked, both him and Huey holding Louie. They had seen the panic building up in him a while ago and decided to keep him as calm as possible.
The doctor softened his smile and knelt down in front of the kids. "Your uncle is fine. He has a few stitches on the back of his head, so don't let him touch that area. That should heal quicker than Mr. McDucks. But because of his cracked ribs he won't be able to move quickly. So we're having him use a cane until he's all better. It'll take about six weeks for them to heal, so don't let your uncle do anything too dangerous or active. He won't always need the cane, just on days when he's having really bad pain. Can you take care of him for me?" The doctor explained.
Louie giggled to himself at this and his brothers nodded. "Of course we can. We're the Duck brothers." Dewey confirmed.
The doctor nodded before looking to the two adults. "The two won't be able to go on any adventures for a few months. Don't let them do anything too hard, or anything that requires a right arm, for Scrooge's case." The Doctor finished explaining. "If there's anymore family that wants to come visit them, they can come tomorrow during visiting hours. They're still trying to set the two up and they need all the rest they can get today." The Doctor added.
"Thank you, doctor." Fenton nodded with a relieved smile.
"It's no trouble. Have a good day." The doctor replied.
"You too, sir." Fenton said before he and Gyro ushered the kids out of the hospital.
The next day, Launchpad brought Fenton, Della, and the boys to see Scrooge and Donald. When they walked in the doctor from the day before explained that Scrooge was asleep, but Donald was waiting for them. He showed them to Donalds room, and once the door was open the boys ran over and tackled Donalds arms and legs.
"Hey boys. Is everything going okay without me?" Donald asked. He saw Fenton and Della waiting at the doorway so the boys could talk with with him.
"We're doing fine." Huey said.
"You should have seen it yesterday! That shit was crazy!" Louie exclaimed, making Donald's eyes go wide.
"Language!" He scolded.
"Fenton murdered a shadow yesterday, and you're asking me to watch my language?" Louie asked in exasperation.
"You need to get your priorities straight." Dewey said, shaking his head.
"Wait, murdered?" Donald asked, looking to Fenton. He couldn't tell if the scientist was embarrassed of uncomfortable. They seemed completely different in this moment, and yet Donald couldn't decide which one he saw.
Della was watching Fenton too. She was surprisingly kept in the dark until now because the boys wanted to tell her and Donald at the same time.
"Uncle Donald, you should have seen him rap. It was like watching Uncle Scrooge fight monsters." Huey said.
"It was so seamless, so smooth." Dewey said with a weird voice.
"It was Awesome!" Louie exclaimed, shaking his uncle's arm. Donald looked back to Fenton with surprise.
"You rap?" Donald asked.
"Eh, well sorta... It's not that good." Fenton said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck as he averted his eyes.
Della began to laugh at the boys loud protest. "I think it's their word against yours, Fen." Della told him. Fenton gave her a slight glare.
"Fenton was amazing! After he destroyed the shadow dude, he was telling us how to take care of you and Uncle Scrooge. You should have seen him. He was so calm the whole time. He even helped Louie calm down." Dewey rambled.
"Wha- I- no- it's jus- psh- Whatever." Louie denied, stuffing his hands in his pockets and looked away in embarrassment, causing Donald to smile warmly.
Fenton was trying desperately to cover his blushing face as he tried to hide how flustered he was. Della thought it was adorable. She looked to Donald before her smile softened.
"Okay, ya squirts." Della said, walking over and ruffling Louie's feathers. "My turn to talk to Uncle Donald. I need to talk with him alone." Della said.
"But mom!" The boys groaned, Fenton swallowing back a chuckle.
"No buts. Go outside with Fenton and wait until Donald says." Della said.
"Yes, mom." They groaned before all three of them walked out of the room. Fenton shut the door after giving Della a nod.
Della turned to her brother, sitting on a chair next to him. "I think I found your soulmate." Della said, making Donald quack in suprise.
"What?" He exclaimed. "Della, don't be ridiculous." Donald grumbled.
"Come on, he's perfect! You're both dorks, you both are too caring for your own good, and he's a superhero. Besides, he helped the kids." Della named off.
Donald crossed his arms and grumbled. "Stupid Dumbella, he doesn't like me." Donald pouted.
Della raised a brow. "So you do like him?"
Donalds eyes widened in panic. "That's not what I meant!" He shouted, wincing after he did so. He clutched his ribs with a slight groan.
Della looked at him in concern, gently laying him back. "Donald, what's wrong?" Della asked.
Donald sighed as he pinched between his eyes. "Ever since you disapeared I hadn't even thought about a relationship. All that mattered for years was the boys. Me and Scrooge were out of touch for ten years, I almost lost touch with Jose and Panchito, Duckworth died and came back, Launchpad was just a chauffeur until we came back to the mansion, and not to mention you were gone and I could do nothing. To say a romantic life was low on my list of worries would be an understatement. I forgot how it worked. When I met Fenton I didn't know what to think of him. But then, whenever I visited the Bin, he always made an effort to be friendly. It was a cute attempt. But then the shadow war happened and I found myself fighting a room full of shadow people. I was almost done with them when Fenton saved me from one I hadn't seen. I think that's when I realized I might actually like him. It's stupid." Donald rambled.
"No, it's not." Donald stopped to look at Della. "What's stupid is that I didn't realize it sooner. I guess I should find a way to repay you for watching my boys for so long. Maybe a date?" Della said with a teasing look.
"Della-" Donald began to warn when there was a knock at the door.
Fenton popped his head in with a sheepish smile. "Uh, am I interrupting?" He asked.
Della gave Donald a mischievous look. "No, not at all. What's going on?" She asked Fenton.
"Oh, uh, Mr. McDuck is awake. The boys went over to say hi. I thought you might want to know." Fenton explained, not noticing the smirk Della gave Donald and the glare he returned.
"Well, I might as well join them." Della said, standing. "Donald has a few things he wants to talk to you about." Della said, walking toward Fenton. Fenton opened the door all the way in his confusion. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have an arm wrestling match to win." Della said before racing down the hall, calling for Scrooge.
Fenton stood awkwardly, slowly shutting the door behind himself as he and Donald just stared at each other with awkward smiles. "So..." Fenton started, taking a few hesitant steps towards Donalds bed. "How has your day been?" He asked, mentally slapping himself.
Donald almost awed at this, going for a calmer smile instead. "It's been good. My family came to visit, my ribs don't hurt nearly as much, and my head isn't bleeding. I'd call that a win." Donald said in a joking manner.
Fenton let a chuckle slip out. "That's good. That's good." He mumbled, nodding. There was an awkward pause between them as they tried to figure out what to do.
"Fenton," Fenton snapped his attention back to Donald. "Thank you."
"I-uh-what did I do?" Fenton asked.
"You're the reason I'm still here, instead of in a morgue." Donald replied with a genuine smile. "If you didn't take out that Rhythamow than I probably wouldn't be able to hold my boys anymore. My sister couldn't tease me anymore... And I wouldn't be able to see your face again." Donald explained.
Fenton could feel the heat come to his face. "Oh, uh, yeah. It was no trouble, really. If I hadn't remembered your lessons, than none of us would be here, probably." Fenton said, stepping a little closer to Donalds bed, reaching the foot of it.
"Yeah well, it's a good thing you listen." Donald chuckled. There was another pause. "...So, you rap? Do you sing too?" Donald asked.
Fenton stiffened a little. "I, uh..." He didn't know how to answer that. "I, um- I don't really sing much. And, I don't think I'm that good of a rapper." Fenton chuckled awkwardly.
"From the way my boys talk about it, you must have been at least a little good. How did you do it so fast? Dewey did say it was, and I quote, 'so seamless, so smooth'." Donald said with a slight chuckle at the end.
Fenton felt his face flush as he tried to stutter out an answer. Donald was trying so hard no to start laughing at this.
"Fenton, sit down. You're gonna hurt yourself." Donald said.
Fenton hesitated before sitting at Donalds feet. "Well, to answer your question, Mr. Duck..." Fenton hesitated. "It's just natural. My brain never shuts up, so I just, kinda, always know what to say. I just second guess myself." Fenton mumbled, playing with his tie.
Fenton snapped his head up when Donald started laughing. He was a little hurt at this, but the laugh was so cute, he couldn't be mad. "I... I'm sorry... It's just that... It reminds me of when I was younger..." Donald said as he began to calm down. "When I was younger, my brain was full of so many thoughts, that I always second guessed myself. But I kept speaking, no matter what others said. I wish I was still like that. And please, call me Donald." Donald said.
Fenton chuckled. "I guess we're not too different, aren't we donald?" He said, giving Donald a smile.
Donald returned the smile before thinking. "Hey Fenton. I have a question."
"Shoot." Fenton replied.
"Would you like to go out after I'm out of here?" Donald asked.
Fenton froze for a few seconds, giving Donald a slight panic attack, before letting a small smile slip onto his face. His smile then turned mischievous. He scoot forward before kissing Donald on the forehead. "Just don't forget your cane." Fenton teased.
Donald paused in confusion before he became furious. "I have to have a cane?!?"

Pokemon au!
Another Ducktales AU! Shocker!
Welcome to the inevitable crossover! There are three versions of this (trainers, human trainers, and reverse gejinka) but we'll just focus on the human trainers first because I'm not comfortable with showing my Ducktales drawings yet! This is just for fun and not definitive. I'm going to be doing this like a real adventure! We'll be following the triplets as they travel the region of... Americaw... Sure, we'll go with that for now.
I want this to be a story in many parts. I also want all their adventures from the cannon to be here as well, except it's just the kids facing them most times. Like let's say all the battles are monsters and baddies they've actually fought in cannon. That would be fun!
Oh, let's bring characters into the mix. Let's say that Webby is the boys' rival and best friend. Violet is also their rival but on a slightly lesser scale(mostly to Huey). Boyd also becomes a rival of sort later on(mostly for Louie). So that only leaves Dewey, and to be honest, I'm not sure. I think Webby would be his biggest rival but he doesn't have a secondary rival. I might just make my own rival for him too be honest, but I wish I knew who to put that's around his age. (Also, I realize Boyd is Huey's best friend but Violet is literally his rival in an episode.) I already have an idea for Lena so I can't add her to the rival crew anyways.
Let's talk about the Duck family.
So I decided it would make the most sense if Della and Donald shared custody of the boys. Donald is still Uncle Donald, don't worry. But since Della is always busy with the league they decided it would be easier to just have them both raise the boys. Donald is basically a stay at home dad while Della is constantly working as one of the core members of the elite four. Della is a flying type expert and Scrooge's favorite relative.
Feathery is an amazing boy! He's constantly working with the elite four as the Regions main professor. He's so excited about all pokemon, but his favorite are water types, because they make him giggle like a little kid. He's Huey's favorite uncle and the only adult he can truly relate to. Feathery is still the biggest sweetheart but now everyone takes him seriously and hang on his every word, even if he doesn't realize it.
Gladstone is one of the sole reasons the champion is still the champion. Because of his luck no one has gotten past him and his grass types. If he didn't have his luck people wouldn't have this issue, but he's cursed with it so he literally can't lose. Of course every Pokemon he has ever caught has been a shiny because they seem to gravitate towards him. The only time he can't find one is when he wants to give one to his family. I guess that's just his luck.
Scrooge McDuck, the richest duck in the world. Despite being part of the elite four, he doesn't really have to do anything. Since he's challenged after Gladstone his battles are few and far between. So he began running his company's full time. Although he does have to leave his work to protect the region at least once every two week. He is the most loved of the elite four and also the most hated, with all his enemies. Good thing he's the best of the league.
Region time!
So, Americaw is based off the world of Ducktales and all the places they've been to by the time of the season three hiatus. I also decided you can find any pokemon in this region (even if characters share pokemon sO MaNY TIMES!), and some come earlier than we're used to. Most of the region is mostly forests with ruins but later on is more of the places we know and love, victory road and the league is even one of my favorite places in the entire series.
Gym leaders, baby.
Gym leaders are characters that are associated with the McDuck clan, mostly working for them in some way. I also tried to put a twist on everything and some of the gyms are ones you wouldn't expect for that character. Let's go over them real quick, shall we?
Owlson, the Normal type gym leader. I thought she was perfect for this because she does technically work for Scrooge now. There's nothing too special about her except that she really wants things to go right and she doesn't have room for silly things. I thought she would be fun as a first gym so the kids could get a taste of the adventure ahead of them. She uses a Hoothoot (to harken to her being an owl) named Natasha, and she has a Porygon (to harken to her being a buisness woman) named Charity.
Ludwig Von Drake, the Poison gym leader! As goofy as the man is he is very competitive. He works with Gyro and Fenton on many projects but has his own lab away from them. I think he works the best for poison because than he could be more of a chemist than the other two scientists. He's also the gym leader we see the least of. He's always in a rush to finish his project just to get on the next one thats probably even more dangerous. He uses a Grimmer (chemicals) named Paul, and a Toxel (science in general) named Corey. He also has a Rotom, named Walker, that just helps around the lab.
Fenton, the Steel gym leader. Since fenton is a superhero I thought he could take his typing from Gizmoduck. He's the main one out of the three scientists that makes weapons and items for the police force. The military forces also thank him very frequently. But since he has so many idea's there's no way for him to do them all. He usually overworks himself because of this and it's obvious to anyone who so much as looks at him. Even so he is the most optimistic of the gym leaders and goes nowhere without a smile. He uses a Pawniard (Gizmoduck) named Hero, an Aron (Robots) named named Titanium, and a Scizor (Gizmoduck strength) named Bromine.
Gyro, the electric gym leader. I thought Gyro fit best with electric because of presumably obvious reasons. Gyro is the wildcard of the three scientists and will do anything for science. He can't count how many times he's almost accidentally killed himself with an experiment. He might seem like he's the only one that slows down out of the three scientists, but you're dead wrong. He probably works the hardest and has the most unhealthy habits out of all of them. He's the best scientist in the region and refuses to give the spot up for anything. He's currently trying to find a way to turn his blood into coffee. He's as brutally honest as ever, and still full of himself, but will admit defeat. He uses a Magneton (robots) named Maggie, a Rotom (Lil' Bulb) named Tom, and a Vicavolt (robots) named Vic.
Duckworth, the ghost gym leader. He might be a ghost but that just makes him better at his job. He's extremely neat and gets annoyed if a picture is tilted. He doesn't hesitate to greet challengers with a smile and even give them tips during battle. When he looses he still acts like a gentleman. He loves his work and refuses to leave life without "good reason". He uses a Gengar (his demon form) named Káge, a Banette (being able to poses things) named Mary, a Polteageist (because he's fancy) named Green, and a Mismagius (just because he's a ghost) named Lady.
Lena, the psychic gym leader. I told you she had a job. But I also know this typing might not seem like it fits. But trust me, it does. Her magic is what I imagine when a pokemon is Psychic type, so I thought it was perfect. She's rough around the edges when you first meet her but she grows on you once you get to know her. She's loyal to her friend's and already knows the kids once they get to her gym. I believe she is the only one that doesn't work for Scrooge in the cannon. She's basically the same she was in the show. She uses a Hypno (dreams) named Dreamcatcher, a Hatterene (being trapped by magica) named Princess, an Espeon (her necklace) named Garnet, and a Lunatone (the eclipse) named Lunar.
Launchpad, the dragon gym leader. Plot twist! Let me explain before you start yelling at me. I wanted Della to be the flying type specialist, so I had to do something else for Launchpad. It took me forever to figure out what to give him, I even considered the option of repeating flying, before I finally remembered dragon. It hit me that it was perfect! The dragon type embodies everything he loves. Flying? Boom, dragons fly! Superheros? There's a dragon that looks like it was made for a superhero. Airplanes? There's plenty of those. Acting like a child? How about one that looks like a child's imaginary friend! The list goes on! The dragon type was perfect because it's so loose. Anyways, back on track. He uses an Altaria (clouds) named Fluff, a Salamance (superheros) named Comic, a Noivern (DW) named DW, a Flapple (childish) named Flapper, a Drakloak (Sunchaser/Cloudslayer) named Sunchaser, and a Duraludon (vehicals) named Crash.
Ms. Beakly, the dark gym leader. She's a freaking spy, of course she's dark type. She's the hardest gym to beat, even for final gyms. She's tactical and knows (almost) every trick in the book. She'll point out what you're doing wrong and still beat you if you do everything right. She doesn't go easy on anyone so you better be prepared. Despite all of this she is one of the kindest people you will ever meet. When you loose to her she has a plate of cookies for you to take with you when you leave, and if you beat her she gives you an item that'll help you the most with the league, plus cookies for your travels. She loves Webby so much, enough to teach her almost all of her tricks. She's a good woman. She uses a Tyranitar (strength) named Tyrone, a Pangoro (capabilities) named Gordy, a Grimmsnarl (I just thought it fit) named Grimm, a Malamar (that expression) named Mal, and a Honchkrow (spy) named Krow.
I love this idea and can't wait to expand apon it. I alread have so many ideas that it's hard to not spoil any plans I have. I just hope I don't overdue it. I want it to kinda be like a little more serious version of the pokemon anime. Not too serious, but I want it to be like what you'd find in ducktales (just maybe a tiny bit less kid friendly).
Well I hope you enjoy my idea and have fun with it. Well anyways, have a great day!
Also, here's a picture of the HDLW designs.

MOBSTER AU!
Hey, another Ducktales AU!
This one is a bit different, I'll admit. But dang I love myself some mob au's. They aren't my cup of tea but I wish they were! We'll just be stereotypical I guess.
So, let's first get the cast set up.
Scrooge McDuck, the boss of the operation.
Scrooge is the riches crimelord the world has ever known and prefers to keep it that way. He's even more egotistical, more greedy, and sharper than ever. He trusts no one but knows he can't run the world alone. So logical he started an empire early in his career and chose his heirs.
Donald Duck, the heir of the family.
Donald was born into being the heir of the clan. He thought they chose wrong because of his bad luck and getting his sister "killed". So when he was old enough to take over he ran away with his sisters babies. He raised them alone for a good ten years until an unfortunate "accident" happened and he had no choice but to go back to Scrooge, bringing the kids with him.
Bettina Beakley, Scrooge's right hand woman.
Beakley is who Scrooge trusts the most out of his whole criminal empire. She tells him everything that's going on and the important news of the world. She acts as his maid, making all the less noticeable that she's Scrooge's deadliest henchman. Best try not to get on her bad side.
Launchpad McQuack, the personal chauffer for Scrooge and his family.
Launchpad originally only asked for the job thinking it was an innocent summer job that normal people had. Nope. He got roped into some dangerous adventures and surprisingly loved the thrill. He asked to stay on the team and Scrooge said he wouldn't have it any other way. Now he's one of the most loyal members of Clan McDuck.
Webby Vanderquack, the innocent.
Despite the name, she's not innocent. Being the granddaughter of Mrs. Beakley, she knew more than a few tricks. She was sent in for spy missions or to steal anything without being caught. She was Scrooge's own personal ninja, and because she was only allowed on the manor grounds outside of work, she didn't think anything else mattered. Scrooge McDuck came first and everything else came last.
Huey, the second in line.
Huey, being the oldest of the triplets, was the caretaker when Uncle Donald was trying to keep food on the table. He did most of the chores and read none stop. He is extremely intelligent but lacks the ability to understand much outside of books. When he meets Scrooge he's the one Scrooge would want the most to be a henchman for himself.
Dewey, the popular one.
Dewey is always out on the town, talking to whoever catches his eye and trying to be the next biggest thing. He loves the thrill of adventure, and the pumping of adrenaline excites him. He's the most athletic of the brothers and surprisingly the most musically gifted. He loves attention and will stop at nothing to get it, even if he sometimes plays the bad guy. He's the one Scrooge is the least concerned about when they meet.
Louie, the insider.
It scares Donald how alike Louis and Scrooge are. There are a few differences though, one being that Louie has a heart and cares for his family. Louie can see patters and predict most things a mile away. He can come off as manipulating but he tries to use his natural charisma to help others out of a slump. He's the best actor of the three brothers and the most trusting. He thinks it's his duty to change the world and help everyone he can. When him and Scrooge meet, well, let's just say Scrooge is a little terrified of being replaced.
That's all the main ones! I wanted to turn everyone to their extremes and decided to change, for lack of a better example, their alignment. I wanted each character to seem like the same character in a different world. Louie is still cunning and charming, Scrooge and Huey are still smart and obsessive, and Donald is still and angry dad. I just turned specific traits up a few notches.
I was thinking that it would be set around the great depression and the family would run a casino ring (if that's even the right term). Scrooge wouldn't be as old as he canonically is, being at a more realistic age of aroud maybe sixty or something. There are loads of other characters that I can expand on that would be part of this. I haven't even touched the side characters yet. Now this is supposed to be closer to a swap!au rather than the normal Ducktales, so be prepared for usual villains to become like police officers or some crap.
Well anyways, I hope you have a good day and enjoy my au. More ideas to come!

Hey, this is my first post!
Also, you know this person?
Tumblr media
This person right here?
Tumblr media
Yes, this person is a beautiful person. This person is very hard to miss.
Tumblr media
Blame this person for this dumb and wonderfully beautiful idea that I love so much. So here we go.
Dugan Duck AU!
Now hear me out!
What if season three didn't happen. What if I threw out all of the cannon we know now and just focused on background characters, or relationships we rarely get to see? That's what I'm planning to do. (To be clear, Daisy is staying. I love her and she's never leaving.)
I've decided that Dugan is about five by the time he comes into Feathery's care. It makes sense, since Feathery has been in the lab for four and a half years. @drummergirl231-2 had the idea that Feathery never knew about Dugan because he was in that lab for so long, and I think it's brilliant. But I also think we could go further.
What if Mary didn't want Feathery to know about Dugan because she thought he would be too distracted from his work (or something, I'm still working it out). But one day Mary gets really sick and has no choice but to send Dugan to his Uncle Feathery. I can only think of the chaos and cuteness that would bring.
Just imagine it. Scrooge is in his office after the events of Moonvasion. He's minding his own buisness when Feathery's can rings. Scrooge begrudgingly answers to an almost panicked sounding Feathery, telling him to hury over. Against his better judgment, Scrooge goes to visit, dragging Donald and Huey along with him, because why not. They get there and Feathery shows them the last thing they'd expect. There's a freaking toddler on the floor, just laughing to himself as they all stare at him. Feathery explains the situation about the baby NONE OF THEM KNEW ABOUT, and how Mary had kept him a secret. He would tell them he was taking the kid in but had no idea what to do, and all three of the other ducks would immediately start 'helping' in their own way. Donald would be the only helpful one as the other two just play with Dugan the whole time. Donald tells Feathery the basics and Feathery takes little notes in a torn notepad he had in his coat.
JUST IMAGINE IT!
Also things our lovely friend thought of that I didn't and I decided to add onto.
1: Feathery would ask for help at the worst times from Donald.
Absolutely true! No matter how many notes he took he would think he was doing something wrong. So, of course, he would call Donald at wildly inappropriate times. I mean, he would call during normal times too but that's not the point. It doesn't matter the time or day. If Dugan is sick at three in the morning, Feathery is calling Donald to get advice, getting reassurance and a death threat instead, not that Feathery would notice the threat (He's not dense, he's just focused on Dugan once the threat comes out). Dugan refuses to go to sleep? Feathery calls up Donald for advice. Dugan is slow at learning something? Donald is on speed dial and is groaning before Feathery even touches the call button.
2: Feathery rambles about Dugan.
Not only does he ramble about Dugan, he's always thinking about Dugan too. Sometimes he'll be rambling about Marinebiology and accidentally replace some of the creatures with Dugan without even realizing it. His family would be proud that he found something knew to be one of his special interests, but even Mrs. Beakley and Donald would get tired of the relatable stories and constant questions. But no matter how tiring it gets there is a silent agreement to never tell Feathery to shut up while talking about Dugan.
3: He does surprisingly well as a father.
Yeah, he's far from perfect, but he has so many fatherly tendencies already, you would think he was already a dad. He's willing to protect others at the cost of his safety (and maybe his life). He'll stop what he's doing, no matter how much he loves it, in order to make others happy. He even knows so much of how to take care of sea life, like they're his kids. I mean, he sings to his krill to make them happy and glow, he makes the sea worms feel loved, and then there's Mitzy (I don't think I need to explain that one).
Now here are my ideas.
1: Feathery's job. (This one is partially inspired)
Scrooge would suggest a job as soon as he knew that Feathery had taken in a kid, but Feathery would refuse. He would want to get his job the old fashioned way and want to earn it. He would find a research job and work super hard at it. Once he got home he would work even harder to take care of Dugan. That persistence never goes away and he almost over does himself a lot of the time until he finally does crash and Dugan somehow calls Donald to come over, who sees what happened and takes over from there. Feathery works so hard at his job that when Donald calls his work and tells them Feathery can't come in they don't even ask any questions and let's the family go on with their life for the day.
2: Gladstone and Feathery are really close.
I love the idea that Gladstone and Feathery kept in touch while he was in the lab. Once Dugan was adopted Gladstone made it his mission to become even closer to Feathery. He visits on weekends, babysits when Donald is busy, and he even helps Feathery with money on bad days. They're just so close and Feathery wishes he could return the favor, but Gladstone turns the suggestion down every time since he's "the luckiest duck in the world". It's just so cute.
4: Ships!
Of course there will be Feathery ships. I just don't know which one to choose. Should I bring Gloria (his girlfriend from the comics) back or should I do a ship from Ducktales? I don't know but I'm so excited!
5: Feathery has bad nights.
Feathery already has trauma like Della does. He was stuck in the lab for so long without any human (Is it human? I don't know the term.) contact. I bet he would have nightmares about it, refuse to get out of bed at night because it reminds him of the lab, jump whenever he saw seamonsters on tv, or just get sad because one of his favorite things was partially ruined because of the experience. He just hopes it's not obvious to Dugan and that the fear doesn't grow onto him.
6: Dugan is a wild child.
Dugan is the wildest child and you can not change my mind! He's more hyper than Dewey and Webby combined and it sometimes scares Feathery because Dugan always wants to do crazy stunts. He's met Webby and wants to do what she does. He loves animals, specifically jungle animals. His favorite animal is a porcupine and really wants one for a pet. Instead, Feathery got them a hamster and named him Porky. Dugan loves Porky almost as much as he loves jungles and adventure. Another thing to know is nothing can stop him when he puts his mind to something... except Uncle Feathery. He refuses to make Uncle Feathery mad. He hasn't yet and he wants to keep it that way.
7: Feathery is a giant neat freak.
After leaving the lab he realized how much of a neat freak he actually is. So once he got a house, Feathery made sure everything was spotless. He met Dugan and one of the first things he taught him was how to be neat and do things by himself. He will not tolerate toys on the ground or drawings on the wall. He will, however, tolerate spills. Accidents happen and he'll clean it up later. He's not strict and he lets Dugan bend the rules on occasion, but Dugan is not allowed to break the clean house rule, and Dugan refuses to break it. It's an unspoken rule, but it's the biggest rule.
And that's everything I've thought of so far! If you're reading this please say hello to @drummergirl231-2 for me. And Drummer Girl, if you're reading this... I'm sorry.
Have a good day!
(I just realized I never explained who Dugan is... he's Feathery's nephew in a comic that's not originally in English, so most of this is from scratch.)
