Holidays and divorce. . This one has been on my mind for well 7 years, but probably more so this year. . If you are a divorcee and you struggle this time of year. I see you and it’s ok. It’s ok to have moved on with your life and still feel the sting and the loss of divorce, especially during the holidays. . Divorce sucks. It’s hard. It hurts for a long time, just like any death. But here’s what I know and believe to be true. “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” . And . “He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” . And . He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. . I could go on and on and on. There’s always three sides to every story. You have to decide to be ok with not everyone knowing yours, not everyone believing yours, some not hearing yours, and some only believing what they hear from someone else. . So if you’re hurting this year from loss, especially from divorce, could I encourage you to take that pain and lay it down at the feet of Jesus as an act of worship. You see, His yolk is easy and His burden is light and He really never meant for you to carry that weight. Focus on Him. Pray for those that hurt you. Ask forgiveness from those that you hurt. Forgive yourself. Here’s where healing begins.
