We are very excited to announce that following the Region South RTS Awards on Friday evening, our Graduate animation Why Won't Anyone Eat Me walked away with the win.
With all three nominations in the student animation category being from our very own crop, we were guaranteed a win, which is always fabulous. But predicting which one of the nominated three it would be, really wasn't easy.
We had representatives from two of the nominated animations and one animation lecturer attending the shenanigans at the Hilton Utilita Bowl in Southampton.
The various student awards were mixed in amongst the professional awards, with all winners coming to the stage to receive their trophies and give a short thank you speech.
Simply being nominated for the awards is a great achievement, so well done to our two other nominated animations - This Is the Life and Is Anybody Out There.
And a huge congratulations to the RTS region South winner of best student animation - Why Won't Anyone Eat Me!
All the regional student winners will go on to a second round. The judges will once again select three nominees for each category, this time from all the 14 regional winners of each category.
The second batch of nominated films will go on to compete in national awards, usually around June in London. We will now have to wait to find out whether Why Won't Anyone Eat Me will be among the national nominees. Fingers crossed.
