Day 3: Parade. The pictures from our first trip to Disneyland are hilarious because my sister and I were terrified of the non-human costumes. Specifically the Toy Story ones, they are TERRIFYING. Day 2: Giant. We used to spend the weekends in a public pool that had a HUGE waterslide. When I was little I was terrified of heights, so it always looked super scary to me, but my mom encouraged me to try it. I remember it being so magical. Since then I think I went down that slide hundreds of times. . I always cherished the memory of the day I stopped being scared of heights and big slides, but when we went back to that pool a few years later, I discovered that this “huge” slide was actually pretty small. My mom keeps telling me she was convinced I was gonna become a biologist because when I was little I would spend HOURS in our garden looking for the weirdest and biggest bugs. I’d then name them and bring them inside (to the misfortune of my parents). From ages 5 to 10 I lived in Venezuela, so imagine all the bugs the tropical weather brought. I don’t know how I never got hurt or stung badly because THERE WERE EVEN SCORPIONS AROUND. There were so many crazy things in our garden, that’s a comic for another day. .
