Audrey heard sounds coming from the living room as she took off her clothes at the same time she realized she had left the door half open; already got used to live alone she didn’t remember to close it. Frowning in curiosity she wanted to go out and see what Mack was doing. “Uh… work was good.” She replied, rising her voice a little while getting her slippers on, noticing it was one of the few times they were doing small talk. “Lots of clients and lots of glitter. What about you?” She inquired back, walking out of the room and heading to kitchen.

As she walked by Audrey saw the boxes surrounding Mack, which meant there would be more Mack’s stuff in the apartment and not so much of Mack himself. Opening the fridge she grimaced. There was no food inside, no left overs and no frozen food either. It was either delivery food or cook something herself but she had been eating take out for a couple of days and all that food would not help her work out sessions with Izzy at the gym. Sighing she walked over her husband. “So… there’s no food and I was going to cook something. Anything special you feel like?” She asked him.

Feeling like a stranger in what was now his own home wasn’t something Mack particularly enjoyed. It had been a week or so since he and Audrey were married, and she’d been here more regularly than he had. Mack hadn’t really unpacked much of anything at this point, and felt a little strange about doing so. 

Mack listened a little to her reponse, laughing lightly at her mention of glitter. “Glitter?” He squinted closing the box back up and moving it to the floor so he’d be able to access a second box. “Work was alright, lots of flat tires, because winter sucks.” He commented with an eyeroll. 

At them mention of food, Mack heard his stomach growl. “You cook?” He was admittedly surprised. It made him realize even moreso how little he knew about this woman who was his wife. “So there’s no food, but you’re going to cook? What food are you going to cook with?”

30 Day Challenge: 30–Here and Now

What was the biggest factor that played into your character being where they are in their life now (another person, necessity for health, a job, incapable of changing the circumstances, etc.)?

The government played a bigger role than Mack is a fan of in where he is currently at in life. But also his Mom has always had a big impact on him. Lastly, his neighbor, without him, Mack’s not sure where he’d be working right now.

Is your character harboring any big secrets about themselves right now?

No. Except that he hasn’t told his mom about getting married yet.

Are they happy with their life right now?

Depends on which aspect you’re referring to.

Do they see themselves living where they’re at for the rest of their life? If not, where would they like to live someday?

He has no idea. But he’s realizing that he isn’t the only one who has a say in that anymore, and he doesn’t like that.

If life stayed exactly as it was with minor if any variances for the next 5 years, would they like that or would they want to see some things change? If so, in what way(s)?

He’d want some things to change. He’d like to be more comfortable in his living situation, and maybe co-owning if not owning his own shop.

When it comes to traits and behavior, what would your character consider their biggest flaws? Their greatest strengths?

He’s lazy, and he knows that. But he’s got a big heart and truly cares for people.

When it comes to traits and behavior what do you consider your character’s biggest flaws? Their greatest strengths?

I think Mack’s biggest flaw is that he doesn’t open up to people unless he’s REALLY close to them, and even then he has issues with emotions. He’s just emotionally closed off. His greatest strength lies in the people he’s surrounded himself with. He really has great friends, and though he hasn’t really shown it yet, he’d do anything for them.

What do they presently treasure most?

His Mom, and their relationship.

What is the best advice they would offer someone, or hope to receive from someone regarding the marriage law?

Make the best of it. It sucks, everyone knows that, just suck it up, and move forward.

What is something that they want for themselves and only themselves right now?

He still wants the law abolished. But he could definitely go for a milkshake.

Dear Mack,

If you don’t already have your own shop at this point... What the fuck man? Get on that. it’s been your dream for a long ass time now so step up your game. On a second note if you are no longer smoking weed for some weird reason, take some time to toke today. You miss it. I know you. I’d give you some advice, but I got nothing man. Also, if you’re still with Audrey, I hope that’s working better for you than right now. And you probably have kids. Gross. Definitely go have a smoke. You need it.

26–Funny Bone:

Sarcastic, but it’s more than that. He also uses bathroom humor, and ‘drunken’ humor.

Tell about the most embarrassing thing that has happened to your character:

One time when he was really drunk in highschool he decided to act out an entire episode of “Glee”. None of his friends even knew he watched the show, but they were thrown into roles nonetheless.

He loves jokes.

He was a prankster more when he was younger. In elementary school he used to think prank calls were the funniest thing in the world.

When he is laughing wholeheartedly it’s a head thrown back, eyes closed, mouth open laughter. His laugh, much like his voice is a little gravely.

If so, what are they? Who started them?  Lunch with this mom is a tradition that they have upheld since he graduated from high school.

Describe a favorite memory from their past, including when it took place (age range): Mack doesn’t vivdly remember a lot of things. However, he does remember scoring his first touchdown in 4th grade, peewee football. Also, he remembers meeting Darius in High school vividly.

Is there anyone or anything from your character’s past no longer in their life whom they wish was now (a pet, an old friend, a parent, a former lover, etc.)? Mack had a dog when he was in elementary and middle school named Andy.

How did your character handle upsetting news or transgressions against them in their younger years if it differs from how they handle them now? He pretty much handles them the same now. He just closes himself off to the world for awhile.

Is there any particular game, toy or activity from their past that they wish was trendy now (Furbys, Tomagotchis, Gameboys, Skip-It, Lite-Brite, etc.)? Heelys

Has your character ever used their status, position of power, or situation to purposely enact harm (physical, emotional, or psychological) on someone else?

Nope.

To what lengths would your character go to protect a loved one?

Whatever is necessary.

Does the phrase “Turn the other cheek” mean anything to them or do they tend to believe in vengeance? Blackmail?

Mack likes to piss people off, but he doesn’t usually act out on his anger, unless it is in defense of someone he really cares about.

Do they believe they are consistent or inconsistent in sticking with their morals/values?

Mack pretty much sticks to his morals, but sometimes he strays.

Do they generally see the world as black and white, good and evil, victim and evil-doer?

Everything is actually a little gray.

Would they ever think it’s okay to lie to protect their own loved ones?

He’d do whatever it takes to protect his loved ones.

What are their thoughts on cheating (cheating on a person, cheating to get ahead in life, cutting corners at work, etc.)? Is it ever forgivable?

He doesn’t like it, agrees it’s not really forgivable.

Mack has started to feel less obligated. It was hard to learn when he was younger. He’s never had a lot of money to buy things for people, but he does like to return favors when possible.

Mack knows his way around a car, and though he doesn’t admit it, is a pretty good singer.

Mack learned about cars from his neighbor when he was about 13. Now he works for that neighbor.

He definitely worked to improve it.

Not really. He’s not an attention on me type of person unless he’s drunk or high.

He gets paid for working on cars every day.

Cooking.

He’s never been well off. Mack and his mom scraped by when he was younger, and he gets by now.

He’s rather frugal.

His apartment with Audrey.

He does know how to drive, and he drives a yellow 1961 Volkswagen van

The van, or walking.

He knows how to ride a skateboard, had a penny board that he rode a lot when he was younger. ( he can bike and blade too )

Are they prone to getting lost?

Yes.

He loves a good road trip, to anywhere.

Have they ever ridden on an airplane? A train? On a boat/ship? A bus? The subway?

Mack had no desire to get married, law or not.

He didn’t want a big wedding. And he didn’t get one. I think in different circumstances however, he would’ve been more willing to have a big wedding.

He’d rather have a dog. Mack is very set on just being the ‘cool uncle’

Mack would consider it.

He most likely wouldn’t, but he’d serve as a VP to any of his friends if they asked.

14–Situations & Scenarios

Your character wakes up in the body & living the life of another person and are stuck for 1 week. Who do they wake up as (your choice) and what do they do for that week?

Mack would want to wake up as Ryan Reynolds. Between the hot wife, and playing Deadpool, Mack would be in his absolute glory.

Your character inherits a precious heirloom from a family member they did not care for. Without the ability to sell it for money, what do they do with it?

If it were an heirloom from someone who also was also related to Mason @masonbellamy   he’d try and pawn it off on Mason. But if not, he’d probably regift it to someone else.

It’s your character’s birthday! From the moment they wake up to the time they go to bed, what are they doing to celebrate?

They aren’t. Mack hates celebrating his birthday. He probably had a meal with his mom, but otherwise he isn’t big into celebrations that are focused on him. Unless of course, he has something in his system. Then he would care much less.

There’s nothing interesting on TV, Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime; nothing looks good in their movie collection or in the theatres and it’s their day off from school/work. What do they decide to do?

Mack would visit his mom for lunch, and then probably go for a drive. Then he’d end the day with his favorite bong.

Your character comes across a friendly stray animal (no collar/tags, no leash, no apparent owner). What do they do? Do they look at it and continue about their business? Do they try to feed it? Do they take it home and print up flyers, temporarily caring for it? Do they call animal control? Do they decide to unofficially adopt it as their own?

Depends on the animal. A cat he’d ignore entirely. A dog, he’d pet, then look around for anowner and maybe consider adopting.

Spouts profanities in their direction before moving forward.

Probably Harry Potter closely followed by Star Wars. (Hard not to be with friends like Darius and Mason)

Where does your character think is the best place to meet someone?

When he was single he liked to hit up bars.

Mack has a tendency to piss people off in general. But he also isn’t really a ‘commitment person’.

What qualities do they like in others?

A sense of humor is key.

What in others turns them off?

People who just make assumptions.

Do they like to be romanced?

No.

Do they like nicknames or pet names/have special names for themselves or whomever they’re with?

He likes them. Yes.

Do they get jealous easily? Do they have insecurities for themselves when it comes to relationships?

Mack is the jealous type, and he’s definitely insecure which is where his commitment fear stems from.

Are they highly protective of their significant other? Or they often protected by their significant other?

Neither. Not with his current S/O, at least not right now.

He definitely is one, but dosn’t consider himself one.

Yes. His first kiss was in 1st grade with Olivia Trent on the playground.

Mack is a foreplay guy.

What is the most special thing someone else (who is not family) has done for your character?

Mack has been seriously blessed with some great friends in his life, and there are almost too many special moments for him to count. Plus, his memory actually sucks, so he has a hard time remembering all the details.
