I hoped tumblr would give me Blaze powers in time for my birthday today, but instead they locked me out of @vacuously-true for my birthday! Thanks, tumblr!

I can see that @vacuously-true is still posting from the queue, but when I log into it, it does the “your connection is fucky wucky” error on every page I try to load. :(

I think my blog is back...

So I told one of my managers yesterday that I would be needing time of work this Tuesday to go and vote because I didn’t realize I was scheduled for a long shift and won’t be off before the polls close.

She then proceeds to ask me why I couldn’t early vote.

I tell her that I guess I could have but I didn’t and the option was now closed and my next and last chance is Tuesday.

Cue her giving me a hard time for not early voting.

I politely tell her that I didn’t so I’ll be requiring time off on Tuesday.

Her response?

“I mean we’ll try to get you out.”

Umm no.

I say - “Legally the law requires that you allow me time off work to go vote.”

Her response?

“Yes, I mean legally it does.”

Yes bitch, legally! As in the law! As in it is my right!

So whatever, I leave her office with a bad taste in my mouth and run into a coworker (who’s worked there as long as I’ve been alive), and I tell her about what happened.

She goes OFF, tells me I better make sure they let me go vote Tuesday and that if they try to fight me on it to tell them to look in their files for the law that she printed off for them years ago stating my right to do so.

So she leaves and I feel a bit better but just for shits and giggles I decide to look up the law for Tennessee voting rights (I knew it was a law that they have to let you off but I didn’t know the exact parameters.)

You know what Tennessee law says?

Up to three hours PAID time to go vote, (and my dumb ass was planning on clocking out.)

You best believe that if someone tries to argue with me Tuesday I’ll be slapping down a copy of that law and my ACLU membership card, I’m pretty sure they don’t want to be hearing from those lawyers.

Guess which very well behaved Leemur just got notified that @strictly-script, @vacuously-true, et cetera were terminated for definitely absolutely no reason at all whatsoever. Guess I'm using this blog again until they fix that crap. 🙃

Could'a'been first gay president and could'a'been first woman president drop out of race and endorse most establishment candidate in the race: because they were never more than establishment ideals behind the veneers of a woman and a gay man in the first place. Women and queer folks don't necessarily back ideologies that are truly beneficial to women and queer folks.

Unfortunately it's not that easy. The candidate with the best policies to strengthen women may not be a woman. The candidate who fights the hardest for the rights of lgbtq+ folks may be "only" an ally. The candidate who truly has the best interests of people of color at heart may be white. If you haven't yet learned this, please let the recent change of field be your teacher and start looking into the POLICIES these candidates are putting forward, and who those policies benefit.

I genuinely think the axiom of choice is a good axiom but also the two weeks or so we were discussing it in class the prof always yelled "DAS ZEIGEN WIR MIT ZORN" whenever he was using Zorn's Lemma which translates to "we will prove this with Zorn" but since "Zorn" means "rage" in German, it also means "we will prove this with rage" and I think that’s beautiful

Queer identities can be so complex. Most of us can't be described by just one identity, and that's fine. In fact, it's great! It's beautiful! It's human! That's why I've started a project on this blog to combine symbols representing people's individual identities into flags they can feel more fully represent them.

It was originally just going to be during pride month but I'm going to keep doing it. I want to do as many of these as I can so if you're interested please come check out the process described on the blog and share this post so people know to come find me!

Looks like @vacuously-true made a queue post a half hour ago so I bet I can log in over there. Hate that I always find out my blog is back by getting a notification that it posted all on its own instead of hearing from someone @staff.

So I extra hate when I get terminated late Friday or early Saturday and have to wait all weekend to hear from anyone on @staff.

@vacuously-true and @strictly-script have been terminated, you know, for the fourth time in a month or so. So if you need me between now and them coming back, here I am. 🙃
