It could have done with a little more work on the collar, but I'm too tired lol 😊
Always loved Azi and Crowley Globe's looks 🩷

the bookshop is silent except for the soft music and the whisper of fabric as they move. the lights are low, just warm enough to blur the edges of the world. aziraphale sways a little closer, words half-whispered into the quiet space between them. crowley looks at him like he’s known the answer for centuries.

Pencil and charcoal drawings. I worked on Crowley's portrait for 6 weeks. And I spent 19 weeks working on Aziraphale's portrait. These two drawings are among my favorites 🥹

Crowley isn’t just into Aziraphale. He orbits him. Like, his whole eternal, messed-up existence just sort of leans toward the angel—like Aziraphale is his own personal gravity. He’s been cast out of Heaven, rejected by Hell, and still he looks at him like he’s the only light worth chasing. He doesn’t ask for anything. He just wants to be near him. To share a table. A drink. A quiet look that says, “If you let me, I’d stay with you until the end of time.” And the thing is… he really would.

I know it’s fun to joke about Aziraphale lying to God, but I bet dollars to doughnuts God was like “okay, so you’re lying for the sake of the humans? The humans I made? The humans I made for all you angels to take care of? The humans I cast out Lucifer for, because he refused to love Them as he loved Me? That’s why you’re lying?” and that was when She decided Aziraphale was her new favorite, and that he wasn’t going to Fall unless he turned against humanity.

So many people go so hard on "butch Aziraphale femme Crowley" and while I've made my opinions on "butch" (read: "muscly and does manual labor") Aziraphale quite clear I also have thoughts abt butch Crowley... I think Crowley is butch or butch-adjacent but not in ways that are necessarily healthy, in a way that is inherently trans no matter how you slice it
Like I think about transfem Crowley, who pushes herself into this masculine "protector" role, the dashing hero who's always there to "rescue" Aziraphale but never gets rescued herself. She's James Bond, she's Mick Jagger, she's Really Cool People. It's "butchness" as a shield because the world won't let her be anything else. And maybe she is fulfilled being a James Bond dyke with prettyboy swagger, but maybe she should be the rescued one, the protected one, the center of gentle attention just once, so she can know how it feels
But I can also think about transmasc Crowley, who feels a deep-seated need to "make up for" some "deficit" in himself - the "deficit" of being a demon or of having once been an angel but also, allegorically, of being "born a woman." No one ever talks about how much you feel like you have to compensate for when you're transmasc (which I am). The exaggerated "not nice" posturing is also in a way "masculine," there is a repulsion to being seen as kind or soft or weak, this fear that if he's ever seen as "nice" people will think he wants to be an angel again when that's the last thing he wants. It's all so familiar to me as a transmasc person whose gender/masculinity is under constant hyperscrutiny. It's not a "discomfort in masculinity" necessarily, but an overperformance of stereotypical masculinity (or evil, in this case) to make sure no one ever tries to take your transness away from you. Idk I just think trans media analysis is so interesting and can lead down so many different paths and I like to do more with trans analysis of things than fandoms usually seem to. And I like trans allegory Crowley she's deeply deeply important to me
#I love this and feel it deep in my spirit#crowley feelings#will be rotating this in my head for a while ty
