“Luminous likes having stuff to do, which I totally understand! I like doing stuff, too! But sometimes there ISN’T a lot to do and I think she short circuits because then she has to deal with being homesick. So… I’ve been coming up with things! And telling her they’re really important to do. Like figuring out how to cook energon! I… don’t actually know what cooking is. But she really likes it, so I said Cybertron needs more of that and now I’m making pots and pans at a very small size when I’m not at work.”

“Cubefuel, but I now I wanna try all those other types of cubes in ten minutes, too. It’d probably be fun!”

Rung presses his lips thin for a moment, eyebrows scrunching.

“Cubefuel? Cubesport? Cuberelic? Cubepayment? Cubegame? Cubeunit? We have too many cubes. Cybertron needs more words.”

"What about Bruiser?" She's helping with clearing some rubble from their impromptu shelter. "I don't know if bruise is a word on Cybertron, but on Earth, it's a type of injury. The closest I can compare it to is like... a dent? You hit someone, and it makes a minor impact that messes up some stuff without getting to the major functions, and it leaves a mark but no puncture. It's pretty common in fist fighting - sometimes you'll say someone's cruising for a bruising if they're trying to start a fight. And if you want to sound a bit ridiculous.

... Okay, maybe not. But it's gotta be better than Bumper, at least?"

B is welding a roof onto their little squid-hidey-hole as Luminous talks, humming… well, it’s not real music. He’s making it up as he goes. At least he’s not rapping or something.

“Bruiser… I dunno. I don’t like hitting people,” B confesses, shaking out his torch so it can cool a bit. “With my knife hands, it didn’t even feel like fighting. The blades went right through no matter what was in the way. Punches are different.”

“If I’m gonna hurt someone, I don’t wanna do it like that. I don’t wanna do it at all, but sometimes you gotta get up and keep yourself alive! I’m not a bruiser. I’m a… slicer? If I’m gonna hurt a person, it’s my last resort! Either I’m gonna die or they’re gonna die.”

"Someone's cuddly today." Meaning he's picked her up multiple times.

“I know,” he admits, looking a bit bashful. “I’m a totally cool, stoic guy, but sometimes? I feel really jittery. Buzzy. Like all I wanna do is talk and talk and talk and maybe spin my wheels as much as possible but I still have things to do? Like, I have a job and friends now so I CAN’T be annoying, I have to be… less me, so they’ll want me around, and that makes the buzzing WORSE so usually I go down to talk with Steve and the guys but Optimus said today’s meeting was super important so I’m sticking it out. Like the tough guy I am!”

B, none of this has explained why you keep picking Luminous up.

“…you’re calming. You chill out the buzz. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the same reason you glow… sorry for using you as a strut support, but it really does work.”

He’s been quiet most of this whole time while holding her, actually. It wasn’t until she said something that he said something back- falling back into his habits around other bots before he was sent to Sub-Level 50 for good.
