I need more of this
All dominant species in the galaxy has something that sets them apart. From healing broken bones and severed flesh, losing 2/8 of our blood, to being infected by literally billions of parasites, Humans have the gift of simply refusing to die. It freaks the heebie-jeebies out of everyone else.

Lotor may trust his Generals but not necessarily care for them. He is known to use people for his own agendas. Why would he blame Acxa for failing to stop Voltron when all she was doing was following his orders down to the last detail? That in itself gives a clue to how Lotor really sees his Generals. He trusts them sure but he also kind of manipulates them. He makes them believe his duplicitousness is ok and that he should never be held accountable for his mistakes.
I’m not really sure where you read that, and I’m not saying that to be argumentative, I’m saying that because I genuinely don’t get that impression anywhere in Lotor’s behavior.
We see Lotor discussing, with the team, exactly how he engages with the main empire and how he manipulates people like Throk. They’re the people he discusses his real feelings with behind Throk’s back.

Everyone’s always about how Kaneki was so sweet and cute and innocent and all in the beginning, but...... like............ he was reading serial killer horror books for casual recreation...... I don’t think he was nearly as innocent as we make him out to be.

Heroes. The show, I mean. Heroes.
Humans have begun mutating at an alarmingly swift pace. Some humans consider the mutation to be an evolutionary advantage they have been blessed with, while most humans are purely disgusted by the changes they cannot understand.

“Humans are average in everything basically and you are saying that we shouldn’t invade them. You are kidding, right?” The alien king looked at the prophet. “They might not have shown anything special thus far, until you decide to go and wage war.”

The Torturer
Tumblr media
So, I know Yamori was tortured pretty nastily by that one psycho CCG guy (not Juuzou, for those who don't know), but man, he just fricking lost it after that! I mean, at least Kaneki kept some semblance of caring after his torture, but Yamori had absolutely nothing left.
Despite all that's coming to light with the V Organization, Furuta, and the whole Washuu thing, I still hold that Yamori was one of the most straight-up badass villains in Tokyo Ghoul. Honestly, the only character I'd say was on par with him, at least in terms of psycho-ness, is Mutsuki.
Idk, Yamori is a super cool character.
Not that great, I know, but do feel free to tap that like button and maybe even leave a comment! Thank you for your time, enjoy the rest of your day, and God bless!
Oh yeah, the art is hand drawn by me. Character belongs to Ishida Sui, creator of Tokyo Ghoul.

A Christmas Kiss
Tumblr media
There hadn't been sparks. The whole thing had been more of an explosion. Kidnapped, isolated, almost tortured... she was sure she'd almost lost her mind. But there he was, her... boyfriend sounded too normal. Her best friend. Her life. She laughed with relief, tears in her eyes, when she saw him. How long had it been? Days? Weeks? She didn't know. With no means to tell time, she had been at a total loss. But, there he was. Free, finally, from her captors, she still couldn't run to him. Her legs wouldn't support it, starved and underused as they were. But he ran to her. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close into a warm, comforting embrace. So they stood, letting the others finish the cleanup without them. No one disturbed the reunion.  At last, when the work was done, he drove her back to her house. They stepped out of the car and walked toward the door, his arm supporting her. They stopped, hesitating to say goodbye, even for only a short time. They'd spent too long apart already. She looked down, blood rushing to her cheeks. she hardly even knew how to thank him for everything. A joke seemed too out of place now, and any words that would normally have been said seemed... insignificant. So they waited, but for only a moment.  "I..." she began, "I don't really know how to say thank you, for everything. I just... I missed you..." Her voice faded in to silence. And suddenly, it was silence and so much more. Once again, he pulled her gently into his arms. And in the half-light under the mist-shrouded moon, he kissed her for the very first time.  --- Merry Christmas, friend!! I hope this story brightened your day a bit, even if it was cheesy. :D  Anyway, God bless, and again, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! - Carina

Also good shit for ships.
good shit: when a character with a reputation for being selfish and uncaring gets injured while doing something to protect others
good shit: when they pretend they’re not injured and did nothing to protect anyone, because they want to keep up that selfish reputation
good shit: when the characters they were protecting only find out about any of this when the character collapses from the injuries they’re trying to hide

Do you know of any tips to writing dynamic, realistic sibling relationships? I’m an only child myself, so I don’t always understand all the nitty-gritty details of how siblings interact, for better or for worse.
I’m an only child, too, so I can’t help you there. :) BUT I can give you some ideas about how to do research for your story:
Interview a friend who has siblings. Ask them general questions about sibling relationships, as well as questions that relate to your particular characters.
Get someone with a sibling to read your story and point out anything that seems unrealistic.
Read books that feature sibling relationships. See how other writers have portrayed siblings in literature.
If possible, spend some time with siblings that are about the age of your characters and take notes about how they interact.
Talk to parents that have multiple kids. They will give you a whole new perspective about sibling relationships that the siblings themselves might not have.
Lastly, while research is important, remember that a sibling relationships can be as individual and unique as the siblings themselves. While there may be some things that are similar across all siblings, ultimately your characters are individuals. Think about some of the stereotypes about only children–do you relate to all of them? I’d guess that some of them ring true, but others don’t. Don’t make the mistake of overcompensating for your lack of direct experience with siblings by making your characters too stereotypical.
Ok, that’s all I’ve got. Hope this helps!

Fury
Tumblr media
Say hello to the Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. Hijikata Toshizo is his name. If you've watched the show, Hakuouki Shinsengumi (or "Demon of the Fleeting Blossom" in English), remember the scene when he drinks the elixir in order to fight Kazama. As with all the Furies, his hair faded into white like a demon's and his eyes turned a deep, blood red.
I know a lot of people have issues with this show because of it's protagonist, Chizuru, but I honestly love it. The mix of historical fiction, vampire/demon, romance, and horror was nothing short of epic! Basically if you haven't seen it, you need to.
Because Hijikata and Chizuru were absolutely adorable! Although I'm still bitter that we didn't get to see more of their relationship and development.
Anyway, here you go, Hijikata going Fury. I hope you liked it! Have a glorious day and God bless!

tag yourself
aquiver (quivering, trembling): headphones on full volume, cold winter breeze, nervous glances, desperately trying to live life to the fullest, to-do lists and journals, daydreaming, missed opportunities and wanting to prove onself
mellifluous (sweet, smooth, pleasing to hear sound): dried flowers, morning rays of sunshine, eloquent sentences, waiting for a sign, mythology and fairytales, sucker for aesthetics, Polaroid pictures and old architecture
hiraeth (a homesickness for a home you can’t return to, or that never was): neon lights, airports and gas stations at night, either being extremely private or always oversharing, the adrenaline of winning arguments, marble and ice
limerence (the state of being infatuated with another person): long eye contact, staying up until 3 am, wanting to pick a random train and get away, being described as “out of it”, sitting in a car just to finish listening to that song, fatalist humour
syzygy (an alignment of celestial bodies): never being fully satisfied, inferiority superiority complex, overthinking, reading 5 books at once, dark academia, late night conversations, “is this all there is?”
ephemeral (lasting a very short time): chasing the feeling of being alive, laughing and crying at once, wishing to be a mermaid, saying “I don’t care” very caringly, either writing really long answers or just “ok”
vellichor (the strange wistfulness of used bookshops): googling random trivia in the middle of the night, being extremely enthusiastic but never actually finishing the project, poems and pretty words, caring too much, never having enough book marks

If you want to use copyrighted material in your own published work (particularly in your book), then it may be necessary to request formal permission for its use. And whether you really need to request permission depends on whether your use would fall under fair use guidelines.
Determining what’s fair use is a gray area, and depends on your risk tolerance. To eliminate all possible risk, then it’s best to either ask for permission or eliminate use of the copyrighted material in your own work. This flowchart helps you evaluate what you might need to ask permission for.

I’ve seen five different authors take down, or prepare to take down, their posted works on Ao3 this week.  At the same time, I’ve seen several people wishing there was more new content to read.  I’ve also seen countless posts by authors begging for people to leave comments and kudos.
People tell me I am a big name fan in my chosen fandom.  I don’t quite get that but for the purposes of this post, let’s roll with it.  On my latest one shot, less than 18% of the people who read it bothered to hit the kudos button.  Sure, okay, maybe that one sort of sucked.  Let’s look at the one shot posted before that - less than 16% left kudos.  Before that - 10%, and then 16%.  I’m not even going to get into the comments.  Let’s just say the numbers drop a lot.  I’m just looking at one shots here so we don’t have to worry about multiple hits from multiple chapters, people reading previous chapters over, etc.  And if I am a BNF, that means other people are getting significantly less kudos and comments.
Fandom is withering away because it feels like people don’t care about the works that are posted.  Why should I go to the trouble of posting my stories if no one reads them, and of the people who do read them, less than a fifth like them?  Even if you are not a huge fan of the story, if it kept your attention long enough for you to get to the bottom, go ahead and mash that kudos button.  It’s a drop of encouragement in a big desert.
TL;DR: Passively devouring content is killing fandom.

Almost Karma
Tumblr media
Hello, all, and PLEASE WELCOME BACK PICTURES!!! I left my camera at my sister's college when I visited a couple weeks ago and that's why I haven't been posting pictures lately. Anyway, here you go! If he reminds you of someone, it should be Karma Akabane from Assassination Classroom. Not that I colored it, obviously, but I based it off Karma.
If you haven't seen Assassination Classroom, I do recommend it. It's got a couple awkward parts, but on the whole it's a fun, motivating show. Basically it's a bunch of misfit, almost-dropout kids trying to save the world by killing their teacher. It's great. Also, badass assassin kids.
Also, am I the only person in this whole freaking fandom who doesn't ship Karma and Nagisa??? Seriously.
Anyway, thanks as always for reading my random blog of random art and fangirling, God bless you, and have a glorious day!
