okay it is insane that the opening arc of s8 was giving athena closure about emmett's murder. she finally got closure from emmett's killer, who took her first love, because he was willing to sacrifice himself to save bobby, her current love.

but then... the conclusion of the season... was to take bobby from athena anyways? come ONNNNNNN

at the end of the day, it just comes down to the fact that buck and eddie have not been portrayed as "just friends" in a long long time on this show.

like. could you imagine hen surprising chim and apologizing to him for a fight they had, by bringing denny over? could you see athena and hen fight the way the fight between buck and eddie was shown? do you think that if maddie were to move to another state, linda would ask her when or how she would tell josh? exactly.

is it evil of me to say that i want eddie to somehow be caught up in the crumbling building and get roughed up a tad🤭

i think timeline wise it would make no sense and also why would he be in this random building? but let’s say he was maybe looking at potential apartments to move into bc even though he and buck have forgiven each other they’re still tiptoeing around the issue of where will eddie and chris stay? so he’s just looking at units to get an idea when boom buck finds eddie trapped in rubble and absolutely loses his mind because there’s no way he’s letting another person he loves leaves him. plus with all the call backs to the prev characters and episodes it would make sense to parallel their first big emergency together, especially since buck is taking the earthquake as a message from bobby!!! (the message is to kiss)

i just think we deserve an eddie nde and subsequent buck crash out. as a treat.

also can i just say. the point of eddie scoring lower than hen for buck’s grief assessment was not to say that he’s not as sad about bobby but to highlight the disconnect between him and buck and just how buck has no idea how much eddie is actually hurting. because he didn’t actually fucking ask.
