Summary:  The good news is that Lan Jingyi has found a mentor, friend, and constant companion through the difficulties in life.

The bad news is that that’s because he’s been accidentally possessed by the Yiling Patriarch.

My comments:  ohmygod ohmygawd, I spent too much of this story just… laughing out loud and disturbing my cat and my husband. It’s a HOOT. the combo of Jingyi and wwx (self-acclaimed shit-stirrers) is just pure effervescence. Of course, there’s tons of tragedy, as a matter of fact, ljy gets all of wwx’s horrific, tragic life second-hand and spends a good bit of time crying because SAD and it just makes him more determined to make him happy. But. His brain-roommate is dead, so hooking him up with lwj is right out.

They’re just, an adorable team and Sizhui goes with it, and it’s a partnership ljy is honestly happy to have last forever, but maybe a year is all he’ll get….

This is such a favorite. I love it to bits: Lan Jingyi and Wei Wuxian, two of my favorite people.

Excerpt 1:  When Jingyi sleeps, so does the Yiling Patriarch, because apparently they really are sharing Jingyi’s brain in some weird way. That freaks the Yiling Patriarch out, but Jingyi’s not unreasonably tired or headachy or anything, so he decides not to be bothered.

The Yiling Patriarch can also do that “nap” thing, where he blips out totally for a while—though he has to be awake to do it, which seems weird. He says it’s like he’s hiding in a cabinet in Jingyi’s mind. Jingyi didn’t know he had cabinets in his mind. He’s learning all sorts of stuff lately.

…Theoretically he could shove the Yiling Patriarch into the cabinet himself, but he thinks that thought very quietly, and doesn’t plan to do it ever. So far the Yiling Patriarch’s been a very pleasant brain guest. Unless he loses it and goes on an unprovoked murder rampage, Jingyi has no intention of sending him to brain prison.

All things considered, it could be much worse. Like, what if the Yiling Patriarch really was the way he’s painted in class? Man, Jingyi’s body would be a puppet and he’d just be floating in jelly forever.

Excerpt 2:  “Is he ordering you to say that?” Zewu-jun asks, still with the suspicion.

“He’s been begging me not to say a single thing I’ve said so far, actually.” Jingyi hesitates. “Well, that was true at first. Now he’s just kind of crying from embarrassment in the back of my head.”

Zewu-jun’s mouth does a weird thing like he doesn’t know whether to laugh or scream.

“Anyway, he’s a giant mess who can’t admit to his own emotions and has all the self-esteem of seaweed,” Jingyi explains, ignoring Sizhui’s judgmental sigh. “They sure don’t teach you that about the Yiling Patriarch.”

Hey, seaweed might have great self-esteem. You don’t know.

Jingyi wonders if you can perform an exorcism on yourself by banging your head against a wall for a while.

Had a wacky morning with this as my alarm LMAO

So I decided to try Ciel's schedule for a day, and he wakes at 8:30 am, so I set this as my alarm and—

WHEN I TELL YOU I WAS CONFUSED WHEN I WOKE UP.

My morning went like this:

1 ish am: went to sleep

5:10 am: woke up. Stared confusedly at my bolster for a good two minutes, mumbling nonsensically to myself, picked up my phone, opened Sudoku, played a few puzzles, shut it down and went back to sleep

8:29 am: woke up, rolled over, checked my phone lock screen clock, smiled, rolled back over onto my pillow, closed my eyes and WAITED FOR THE ALARM TO RING.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT POSSESSED ME TO WAIT FOR MY ALARM TO RING LMFAOOOOOOO

TL;DR: My morning was something right out of a WTF moment. 10/10 would totally do it again.

Genshin Time Conversion Pt. 3 (Formula)

So, I got tired of rewatching my K-dramas and animes for the millionth time and came up with simultaneous equations to ease people's age conversions from IRL to Genshin.

525960x = y y÷8766 = z

Where both x and z are in years, and y is in minutes.

x will be your age in years IRL, and z will similarly be your age in years in Genshin!

Of course, in reverse, we'd have:

8766z = y y÷525960= x

Genshin Time Conversion Pt. 2

A continuation of this post.

A few common IRL timings and their conversion into Genshin time:

Sleep (8h): 8 × 60 ÷ 24 = 20 days

School/Work (9AM to 6PM = 9h) = 9 × 60 ÷ 24 = 22.5 days

Eating, Bathing, etc. (30 min): 30 hours = 1.25 days

Steeping green tea (3 min): 3 hours

Essentially the easiest way to calculate Genshin time from IRL time is:

Minutes (IRL) = Hours (Genshin)

A short, succinct letter to Dottore, an almost illegibly scribbled reply from the madman himself, and he meets The Doctor in the Land of Wisdom.

The Second’s plan for his ascension to godhood only truly begins once the Doctor convinces the Sages of their blasphemous plan.

It doesn’t take as long as he would’ve thought it would.

Sumeru has a child god, found lying in the same place where their god, Sumeru’s Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, had fallen, presumed dead. A child, with no memory and no measurable wisdom to speak of, how could she rule the Nation of Wisdom, then?

And on the other hand, a puppet, made with divine hands and lived for approximately 500 years, almost as old as the Cataclysm itself, filled with worldly knowledge and painfully learned wisdom.

Which would be the better choice?

In that vein of thought, I suppose it was a bit too easy to convince them, he thinks, standing to the side and leaning against the wall, watching the proceedings boredly as the mad Doctor proceeds to rally the room to agree with his Archons-forsaken plan.

He only cares if they agree.

The Sages agree.

With no god to rule them, Sumeru falls to the hands of mortals, the Grand Sage Azar being old and nearing the end of his career, Scaramouche can tell. A few more years, and he’ll be a raving mad lunatic in the halls of the Akademiya, banished to Aaru Village himself.

So they desire a god to lead them, a divine being to rule them. Agreement to the Second’s plan is easy and unanimous, and so they begin.

Pain is not unfamiliar to the puppet, and a few more months of it is nothing compared to how long he was intended to live.

He bears it and ascends as Sumeru’s false god.

And then the Traveller reappears.

It reminds him of his star’s last chiding.

Unkind and dishonourable.

Angry at himself for disappointing his only guardian, and guilty for having to do it again, he throws himself into battle, desperately trying to prove he is better than who he was before.

The clash of blade against elements resounds in the workshop, and his fury bubbles over.

And then he falls.

The little god had put him through a hundred and sixty-eight samsaras to ensure the Traveller would survive and be victorious.

His pride wounded, his gnosis taken, and his existence now useless, he resigned himself to fate: a lifetime of atonement and painful reparations.

And when he wakes, his new owner has a task for him.

Walking into Irminsul, he realises the truth of his past. He was never betrayed; he was deceived. By the Doctor himself, the insolent worm.

Furious, he asks the Traveller if the past can be changed.

Their wide-eyed non-answer is answer enough.

He vanishes into Irminsul, and the Traveller is left standing in shock.

He has a lifetime’s worth of pain to give that blueberry bastard.

I Hate You

The WANDERER hates the Creator.

He hates how they always bring him everywhere, making him run around, first in Inazuma and then in Sumeru, as if he were some kind of puppet (he is) to be controlled (he isn't).

He hates that they claim to love him best, love him most, and then they turn right around and make him work for his own materials.

He hates how they play til the wee hours of the morning, their clock ticking over to two, three, four, sometimes even five in the morning and yet they don't sleep. (Don't their eyes hurt and their fingers cramp?)

He hates how much they love his voice, to the point that they constantly make him talk just to listen to his voicelines and say unnecessarily sweet things about his voice.

He really hates it; all of it.

But most of all, he hates how he can't hate them too much.

They love him, after all, and he knows it's true when they bring him everywhere, not getting tired of him at all.

So maybe he doesn't hate them as much as he thought.

IRL

1 day = 1,440 minutes 1 year = 1,440 × 365.25 = 525,960 minutes

Ratio IRL : Genshin = 1 : 60

By 1 : 60 ratio, 1 minute IRL = 1 hour in Genshin

An IRL century has 52,596,000 minutes = 52,596,000 hours in Genshin

52,596,000 ÷ 24 = 2,191,500 (number of Genshin days)

2,191,500 ÷ 365.25 = 6,000 (number of Genshin years)

THEREFORE I CONCLUDE THAT ZHONGLI IS AT LEAST 100 YEARS OLD IRL (because lore says he's at least 6,000)

A Genshin century IRL (in hours) is:

100 × 365.25 × 24 = 876,600 876,600 Genshin hours = 876,600 IRL minutes 876,600 ÷ 1440 = 608.75 (number of IRL days) 608.75 ÷ 365.25 = 1⅔ IRL years, or 1 year and 243.5 days

This has been done half-asleep and very quickly, so if there are any errors, please point them out!
