Mario AU headcanon vol. 1

Mario and Luigi were born in 2000 in Brooklyn, New York, to Jumpman Mario, and were orphaned from around age 3 or so. Yes, I go by the "Jumpman is Mario's dad" thing, they had to get their swag from somewhere.

Where better than from some Gen X hardass construction worker, who game from grit, street labor, devout Catholism, old country music, big family dinners all that good shit, and became a local legend after his Donkey Kong thing.

I headcanon him as a rough on the outside figure with a heart of gold, respected for being real more than anything. The way he goes out would prolly be by saving someone else's life at the construction place. Real G shit, that casts a shadow over Mario and Luigi and makes it hard for them to leave his shadow.

I might post a fanfic about it idk.

Mario age headcanons V1

Who cares about introductions.

Mario: 24 (iirc this is his actual canon age now and it fits, he's youthful yet still clearly adult, and looks way younger without the stache lol) Luigi: 24 (ditto everything i said on Mario cause they twins) Peach: 23 (partners in time has Peach unable to move as a baby whereas the baby marios can move just fine, but Island DS suggests there's not much difference, so -1 seems right) Daisy: 22 (daisy has a slightly more youthful vibe than Peach but the difference is slight, probably like a "same year but born a few months later" thing even) Toad: 18 (seems much younger than the bros, but he runs Toad Houses and has other adult responsibilities. I had him as 19 for a while but y'know what even that feels a bit much.) Toadette: 18 (she's physically like a girl version of Toad so same age) Bowser: 27 (Baby Bowser seems a bit more developed than the Baby Bros in like, every appearance they have together. He talks, walks, and can somewhat fight when Mario can't even crawl) Wario: 25 (just vibes here, him being marginally older than Mario makes sense to me, I remember Yoshi's Island DS had Baby Wario crawling when Mario couldn't so there's that) Waluigi: 25 (to match Wario) Rosalina: idk, blame space time bull, she could be a million years old for all we know Yoshi: 23 (human years. Yoshi's Island DS suggests a very slight age gap between him and Mario.) Bowser Junior: 10 (he just feels like a 10 year old moron you'd find on Fortnite yelling slurs) Larry: 12 (same as Junior but he's clearly a bit older) Morton: 14 (i imagine he's one of those teens that looks older than he is because he lifts a lot. I mean there's 14 year olds that look like this) Wendy: 15 (as much as I wanted to make her 16 for the sake of a "Sweet 16" joke, I can't picture her driving.) Iggy: 17 (Mostly just 'cause the SMB3 fight order places him in the middle, but I can't quite see him as an adult. Roy: 18 (douchebag high school senior energy concentrated in one Koopa) Lemmy: 19 (one of those guys who seems much younger than he really is. But just cause you're short does not make you a kid. Besides picturing him constantly getting carded for doing legal adult shit is funny to me) Ludwig: 20 (mature but clearly still young and i imagine the rest of the koopalings are teens so him being one year removed from teenhood works for me)
