my personal favorite headcanon for eddiemaddie is that they think of each other as semi distant siblings in law. where they would never hang out on their own but they include each other in holiday plans by default. they’re not friends but they’re not strangers. like they would never go to happy hour just the two of them but maddie does expect eddie to join when she invites buck over for dinner. or when she texts buck to say they got a sitter so she wants to do a night out and buck reacts to it with a 👍 no one is surprised when eddie shows up with him even though he technically wasn’t invited (she made a dinner reservation for 4 people, assuming eddie would be there). and it would be weird for buck to show up unannounced to one of these dinners with whoever he’s dating at the time, but it would also be weird for him to show up without eddie. like weird to the point where chimney would say ……..where is eddie.
