I’m really bored so: here’s what district I think each f1 team would be in the hunger games (part one)

Mercedes: District 1 Luxury, I mean, obviously, Lewis and George scream “luxury district careers” pair that with Mercedes history of winning, their junior program, any their overall aesthetic and it’s obvious.

(I also really wanted to put Ferrari as district one but…)

Red Bull: District 2, Masonry and Defense, besides the checo ‘minister of defense’ joke, Red Bull is another team that I would call a ‘career’ team if it were hunger games, another junior program controversy heavy team, with a lot of power and dominance.

Mclaren: District three, technology; up and coming, I could make a joke about that back wing from earlier, but needless to say, McLaren has got the tech

Ferrari: District four, fishing; another career district that teaches them young, still a career but less successful than one and two I feel like The current Ferrari boys kinda give finnick vibes, but I also really wanted to put Ferrari as district one because obviously but I couldn’t decide between it and Mercedes so here

Haas: district 5, power and electricity; they’re a bit overlooked, but they can change the course of a whole race and cause chaos at any second (ie: Monaco crash, Brazil black flag)

Again this is dumb but I was so bored. Please comment ideas for this or yell at me in the comments if you disagree

“crazy how Checo is so supportive of Yuki and Franco but not Liam—” no, crazy is how Checo was so supportive of MAX when he entered Toro Rosso 10 years ago. the entire grid was screaming bloody mary about how teen Max was the living antichrist and Checo’s just like “he’s a talented guy. And what a nice kid <3” while max was out there committing active terrorism. It’s actually hysterical that Checo was so vocally kind to young Max, got signed to redbull, proceeded to gentle-parent max into the perfect teammate for the next three years until max stopped hissing and scratching him like a feral cat and started defending him with a gun… he dealt with all that, but THIS INCIDENT with Liam being his line in the sand just absolutely SENDS ME. its as much a comedy as it is a commentary on Checo’s character.

THIS!! Ollie and Oscar’s radios made me almost tear up, even in alcan snow rally racing if it gets too snowy we board up. Do better FIA

franco wishing to switch to wets only to get denied causing him to crash. ollie saying it’s dangerous and he’s trying not to die.

oscar normally so calm and collected constantly radioing in distress. fernando who’s been here longer than anyone saying there should be a red flag. all the other drivers having no visibility, having trouble staying on, saying it is dangerous, and the race should stop.

the stress of this race isn’t “who’s gonna win”. it’s “who’s gonna crash/hit the wall/collide with another driver/spin out”.

i’m thankful no major injuries came out of that, but if there were, it hurts more that it could have been preventable. says a lot. jules died because of these same conditions. must we let history repeat itself?

safety is never a joke. death is never a joke. these are real people with lives.

Esteban Ocon whose parents sold their house, lived in a caravan to support his dreams. Esteban Ocon who was about to go back to flipping burgers after winning f3 coz he ran out of money, saved only by Toto Wolff whom he calls his fairy godmother. Esteban Ocon who believed he doesn't have the 'right' to lose coz of everything his family gave up, and everything they did give up... Esteban Ocon, a 'normal' guy who clawed his way to the top in this sport rife with generational wealth and nepotism. No one loves nepotism more than an f1 fan, no one. Y'all already root for Kimi's son, Max and his gf's hypothetical kids. "DOES VOWLES KNOW HE'S BADMOUTHING F1 ROYALTY, SEB'S GRID GODSON, MICK SCHUMACHER!?!" Those were the exact words I read few days back.

So next time, when u think Ocon is being too agressive, fighting too hard, also think about the teen who had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Think about the little boy who managed to claw his way to the top with all odds stacked against him only coz he fought hard.

Tf u mean he drove the last two races with a broken rib??? When he talked in the past about just bruising his ribs he said it hurt to sneeze no wonder he didn’t jump into the McLaren crowd when he won, shit woulda hurt. (Not to mention that’s just not who he is) absolutely iconic of him to give no context as well. I love the lore this gives him, definitely something that adds to that 1st win, and probably something that’s gonna be mentioned even when he’s a legend.

Oscar Piastri, the truly ace driver you are.

Ik I’m supposed to dislike lance stroll but I just, can’t. He was a kid who had a dream, his father had the means to make it happen. I don’t have a kid, but I do have a brother who’s a lot younger than me, and I can tell you, If I had the money to make all his dreams come true, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Lawrence stroll is just a dad who could make his kids dream come true.

Not to mention!!!! Lance isn’t even that bad a driver!!! He came first in two of his junior series. If he was truly a bad driver we’d see him at the back of the grid consistently, guess what. We don’t. No matter how good a car is it can’t account for a bad driver. Lance stroll is not an awful driver. He’s not the best driver on the grid, but I don’t think he’s the worst on the grid either

Anyone who has decided they don’t like fun racing and have decided to be an over the top Oscar hater for some reason is not getting the point of f1. I like Lando but not at the expense of Oscar, Oscar is a talented and unproblematic person (unless you’re alpine) and doesn’t deserve any hate, leave Oscar alone and be happy your team is doing well.
