Etched Hearts and Broken Parts
Chapter 4
You watched as the thin man paced back and forth in the corridor of the apartment complex. His tan skin illuminated every time he passed by a ray of light coming through the concrete breezeway.
Is this considered “normal, everyday,” celebrity clothes? You wondered as you looked him up and down. Donned in a tropical shirt that obviously looked expensive and name brand, black chokers around his neck, tight white jeans and loafers that looked at the very least limited edition. His mask, dad hat and sunglasses did nothing to hide his celebrity status. He was about as “incognito” as a neon sign in Vegas.
Whether it was looking down at your old converses, rolling and unrolling the sleeves of your striped shirt, or playing with the straps of your overalls, you tried to distract yourself from everything except looking at him.
He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. It looked so soft you wanted to just reach up and touch it.
WAIT. Get it together. You cannot get attached. Cut it out!
As he paced down to the end of the corridor, he turned around and stared you down. “Who are they to you?” he asked.
“I’m sorry?”
“I said, what are they to you?”
You were both facing each other on opposite sides of the hallway. His gaze was strong. Not so strong that you felt fearful or intimidated, but a strength you couldn’t quite place. You weren’t afraid of him, that much was certain. The other one you were much more afraid of, the one who didn’t want you. Either way, you knew you couldn’t get attached. It wouldn’t work, you were the flaw in the system. The accidental soulmate to an already mated couple.
You looked up and you didn’t know when, but he was right in front of you. You almost had to strain to look up at him. “Please, just… who are they? Why do you live with them? What’s your relationship?” He asked again, “Are you…”
Before he could finish, a couple passed in between causing him to break off and go back to his “side” of the hall.
“I- I-,” you began as the couple walked in their apartment down the hall.
Kill this. NOW. Do not let yourself get any kind of hope. You are NOT made for them, for this. You are a fault and nothing more.
You sighed then looked up with determination. “Mr. Park I do not think that’s any of your business.”
“And it’s not any of his business,” Yixing said from the door. He walked up to you and put a hand at your back, “Please leave.” He said as he led you back to your apartment and slammed the door behind you.
***
The next day you had quite a few words for your boss. You stormed in the studio and yelled, “Jongdae, get your ass in here!”
The guy from the other day was there. He averted his head when your eyes met, obviously feeling a little awkward seeing you again. Jongdae made him sign a waver after the incident so word wouldn’t get out. It had worked, no one who was there that day said a word.
“Please, _______, don’t kill me,” He whispered as he peeked from the side of a prop he was setting up.
“I will if I want to! How DARE you give out my address! That’s against the law!”
“Actually, it’s technically “not” against the law seeing as we’re actually, “technically” part - OUCH!”
His speaking was cut short by your swift pinch to his arm. Partially as payback for giving Park Jongin your address, and partially for almost revealing the secret you had been keeping since the start of the company.
Yes, your boss was not technically your “boss”. You and Jongdae had started the filming company from the ground up. But the thing was, you absolutely hated the business end of it. Paperwork made you gag and the thought of trying to sell why your company was the best made you want to do anything else but the sort. Though you did have to admit, you would defend your company any day, it was one of the top in Korea at this point, all due to the fact that you and Jongdae kept to your positions in the company.
There was also a perk to working behind the scenes in the company. You had one of the highest employee satisfaction ratings almost solely due to the fact that you were behind the scenes. You were friendly with all of the workers, as the saw you as just a co-worker, so when they complained about something in the company to you, you and Jongdae did your best to correct the situation.
Yes, people were suspicious of you and “the boss” and your quirks, but they just chalked it up to you and him being best friends, and you keeping him in his place.
They trusted you and it was better this way. It was best when no one knew, a permanent “undercover” boss situation.
As Jongdae stopped whining, he looked at you as smiled so mischievously you had the urge to give him another good pinch. “What else did you do?”
“A movie deal,” Jongdae said as he wriggled his eyebrows.
“Wait... what did you just say?”
“A M.O.V.I.E. DEAL!!!” he emphasized again, “And not just any movie deal, THE movie deal. It’s going to put us to the TOP!”
You were hesitant, it wasn’t like you hadn’t done movies before but they were mostly indie movies, the kinds you send to film festivals, not the big screen.
“How much?” you asked hesitantly.
Jongdae got out his phone and typed the number on his calculator. As you saw zero after zero entered in you began to get giddy. This was it, your chance to prove yourself, to prove your company, to prove your workers, everything.
you screeched as you both hugged and jumped up and down.
The other guy cleared his throat from behind you. “I’m sorry, but what does this mean?”
You put your hand on his shoulder, “It means the big screen buddy. We are going to the BIG SCREEN.”
You turned back at Jongdae, and he had this guilty look on his face. His excitement vanished.
“... what’s the catch Jongdae?”
He looked up at you as he shuffled his feet, “Yeah, about that...”

Laptop part is IN!!! UPDATE ON EH&BP TOMORROW!!!!!!
I know I promised to update and left everyone hanging. I apologize. I had a bunch of personal stuff happen after I posted an update saying I would continue. I lost health insurance (been out of my medicine for almost a year now), lost a job and had to find a new one and my laptop broke and lost ALL of my chapter blurbs. Had a friend I needed to help by driving to and from work and college, among other things. But now with being laid off from the new job I had and all due to what's happening I have free time. I used my last paycheck to get something to fix my laptop so when that comes in the next week, I'll be back to it. Thank you for being so patient with me. I know a lot of people have been waiting and I apologize. I will try better. Again I am sorry.
Edit: I'll try to start now but it will take more time since I'm on phone. Thank you so much for everyone who has shown interest in both the omega's secret and EH&BP. Etched Hearts will be the first to be updated.

I know it's been a long while since I updated. I've been going through some things emotionally. Also this is my last semester of uni so I've been busy like crazy. But I promise, I havent forgotten about these stories. I will update as soon as possible. I may have to put omegas secret on hold for a bit due to writers block. But I do have an idea as to how EH&BP will be continuing. I just need the time to write it down. So for everyone asking, YES. I will be continuing.

Etched Hearts & Broken Parts
Chapter 3:
The café was bustling. People moving in and out almost as if they were their own tide, trying to get to their next destination. Many babbled on the phone. Telling their boss their soulmate is sick, calling soulmates to tell them when they’ll be home, it all made you sick. You knew you hated the idea of soulmates, you knew what was coming since you were little. You had prepared yourself for this possibility. This probability. The feeling of it though. The thoughts of not being wanted floating in your brain and heart were like an anchor weighing you down in your seat. However, the rejection that seeped into your pores seemed all too familiar. You had lived this before, it had hurt like hell the first time. But this? This was worse. You guessed that’s what happens when it’s your own soulmate.
***
“She still won’t come out baby,” he said after plopping down on the couch. “I don’t know why you send me to ask if she won’t even come out for you.”
“I swear, I’m going to rip them apart when I see them. How dare they?!” She roared, smashing balled fists into the coffee table.
“Ok, Hulk. Let’s not break the mahogany,” he whispered as he grabbed her hands to hold in his.
“It shouldn’t have been like this,” she said with tears in her eyes.
“I know, but it’ll get better,” he reassured, wiping her tears with his thumbs. “We’ll make her better, I promise.”
***
When you finally made your way out of the room you were sure to do so extremely early in the morning. As you crept through the door, it’s creak sounding like a siren in your head, every step past their bedroom was quiet and precise. You knew every floorboard that creaked and made sure to avoid them. You felt like a treasure seeker in a sense, trying to make it past sleeping monsters to get to the glorious treasure, which in this case was food. When you finally made it to the kitchen, it seeming like the light at the end of a tunnel, you stopped dead in your tracks seeing an all too familiar back standing in front of the stove.
“Sit,” was all you heard. You obeyed without question. Quietly pulling up a bar stool and jumping to get on. You wrapped your legs around the bars and scooted up to the counter. It was a habit of sorts, you knew full well that your thighs and butt were too thick – too much you thought – to keep you upon the small seat for very long.
“Umm…” you whispered. You didn’t know what words to say. You hadn’t really talked since the incident and if you were really honest with yourself, you wanted to keep it that way.
“We’ve been worried sick,” he said as he brought a plate towards you. You could smell they soy sauce and beef smell wafting off the plate sitting in front of you. It was enough to make your mouth drool and your stomach growl at the same time. “Go ahead, you haven’t eaten in days.”
You didn’t need to be told twice as you dug in, savoring the flavor on your tongue. There was a quiet and awkward silence that fell between you. For minutes, neither one of you wanted to pop the bubble. This was the first time you had been in such close proximity to each other in almost three years. He just sat on the bar stool beside you watching you eat. But you could only stand the bubble of silence so long before you felt the urge to pop it.
“How did you know I’d be up this early?” you wondered aloud. You couldn’t even face him, the weirdness between you too great. After a moment of silence, you looked from the corner of your eye to see him walking down the hall towards the bathroom. As you saw him duck in and out, you quickly turned back to your plate almost giving yourself whiplash in the process. You finished your plate of food in silence.
As you braced yourself to get up, a hand held you in place. He grabbed your wrists and pulled the first aid box he had brought from the bathroom over to sit in his lap. The next few moments were spent with you staring at his face as he cleaned and put ointment on your wrists. “The longest you’ve gone without food is three and a half days, you were bound to come out eventually. You’d also try to avoid us so leaving in the morning was the best bet.”
“Huh?” You asked.
“You asked me how I knew, I’m just answering,” Yixing said smiling and looking up at you. It almost felt like old times.
“Oh, um ok,” you slid off the bar stool leaning your hand on his shoulder to find balance. “I gotta go to work now.”
“Take these and wrap it around your wrists,” he stressed as he threw 2 bandanas at you. “I know you probably don’t want to be reminded all day. If you cover it up, it’ll be like it never even happened.”
“Ah, thanks Xing,” you mumbled as you did as he said. You put your shoes on and exited the door. When you were out in the hallway, you stopped hearing feet come up behind you. Arms wrapped around your neck as a warmth spread behind your back.
“Everything is going to be ok,” Yixing said as he squeezed tighter. “I promise. We’ll take care of you,” he said as he placed a kiss to the back of your head. You stayed like that for a couple of seconds until his hands released.
“Kay, bye!” You ran down the stairs without looking behind you, your face heating up from the embarrassment.
***
Work was slow at best. Jongdae coddled you like a baby, and the staff members acted awkwardly towards you. There was also something different. Two really buff guys stood at the entrance to your work all day. When you asked Jongdae, he had said that the studio had just gotten better security while you were gone, but something about it seemed fishy. You didn’t really care though, you couldn’t wait to get home and lay down. Tired of everyone that day treating you like you were easily breakable glass.
You dragged yourself through the door of your apartment, ready for a lecture from your best friend. What you truly came home to was three pairs of eyes looking dead at you from their seats in the living room. The tall man sitting in your chair stood up and called your name and before you could think of anything he strode toward you, grabbed your arm, and walked out the door with you.

Etched Hearts & Broken Parts
Chapter 2:
“Why won’t you meet him? Come on~ I really like him,” you try to whine through the phone. You hated whining to try and get your way, but most times it worked.
“No, I’ll meet him sometime later. I don’t want to… Now stop asking me!!!” she yelled quickly hanging up the phone so you couldn’t protest anymore. You knew she was angry because she rarely yelled at you, but you had no inkling why.
You had just wanted her to meet your boyfriend, and she had been putting it off for six months. Excuse after excuse, and you were really getting annoyed. I like him though, what the hell is your problem. Can’t you just meet a guy I like. Maybe she was trying to insinuate that you shouldn’t date anyone that wasn’t your soulmate. She knew what your “soulmates” were though, she knew that the likelihood of you meeting them and having them was into the negatives when it came to chances. So why is she so adamant about not meeting him?
You looked up from your phone to try and see him through the crowd immediately spotting the man who really resembled a lost puppy on the street. He was wearing an oversize navy blue and gray color block cardigan with a pink white ombre shirt, gray jeans and plain white tennis shoes. His hair was parted to the side and stopped right before an extremely large scarf enveloped his neck. You had joked about that scarf while you were shopping one day, saying it was cute because he looked fluffy and warm in it. You never expected to see it around his neck today.
You were clad no differently yourself. You wore black straight leg jeans to try and hide the size of your hips (which didn’t really work because you are mostly hips and thighs), black ankle boots, a white sweater, matching burgundy beanie and scarf, with a black and white plaid coat on top. You were the matching cozy winter couple.
You giggled as snow began to fall which caused the man, who was still looking for you even though you were five feet from him, to become frantic. You giggled once more as you leaned forward and grabbed his arm.
“Yixing~!!!”
“Oh? _________!”
                                                                                        ~ * ~
You looked up and saw him and for a moment he looked just like he did back then, but your eyes adjusted. He seemed to be calling your name, trying to get your attention probably, but you weren’t paying attention, you just brushed past him and went out the door of the building, quickly hailing a taxi to take you anywhere. You didn’t care, you just needed to get as far away as possible.
                                                                                    ~ * ~
“Where are they Jongdae?” Yixing said as he burst into the studio. He had tried to run after her, but she had already hopped in the taxi and was most likely on her way home. At least he hoped.
He walked in to see Jongdae, two very stunned men, and a woman and another man were talking very loudly asking each other questions.
“Xing! Did you catch her? Is she ok?” Jongdae ran up to him as he walked in.
“She took off, I don’t know where she’s going,” Yixing said as he looked to the two men at the back of the room. One of them had snapped out of it and was walking towards him, while the other stood still in his place.
“What do you mean she took off? Where is she?” the man asked. At least, it was worded as a question but sounded more like a command.
“I don’t know, but it’s none of your business. You’ve done enough,” Yixing growled at the man. He usually wouldn’t be so angry or bold, but this guy just got under his skin and he knew exactly why.
“None of our-” he scoffed, “She’s our soulmate!”
“She’s not your anything!” Yixing yelled back, not noticing the other man had come up beside them. “She is ours and we’re not gonna lose her to the likes of you.”
Jongdae tried to grab Yixing and pull him back. He had never seen the man angry before and truthfully, it was kind of scary. “Xing, I don’t know what’s going on ,but you need to cool it-” Jongdae said but was quickly cut off with Chanyeol grabbing the now furious Jongin and practically dragging him out the door.
“And you. You don’t even want her. I can see it in your eyes,” Yixing said before Chanyeol could get Kai all the way out. “Don’t you dare come near her if you can’t even stand seeing her name on your wrist.”
                                                                                        ~*~
“Ma’am, you need to get off,” the man said as he stopped in front of the beach. “We’ve come all the way to Busan from Seoul, and I need to get home.”
After you paid the man and thanked him you practically slid out of the taxi and onto the ground. You didn’t know where to go at that point. You just wandered for a while, still dazed at what had happened. You found yourself plopped down on a bench in front of a large apartment building. You had followed a couple of people to the spot and sat down to watch the event unfold in front of you. There were a few dozen people standing outside the apartment building yelling and holding signs. You assumed it was a protest, though you weren’t positive. The voices kept jumbling together making them incoherent.
You reached in your pocket for your phone, only to realize you had left it on top of the cables in the studio. Great. Just perfect. She is going to kill me.
You walked toward the crowd thinking that one of them might know where the closest bus stop was. As you walked closer, you started to understand what they were saying and you fell to your knees.
“Chanyeol, Kai! I’m your soulmate!”
“I have the tattoos look!”
“It’s me! I can totally see them right here!”
“Move lady! We’re trying to see them here! You’re in the way!” One guy said as he grabbed your wrist and pushed you out of the way. The newly formed marks on your skin were still sore, so you let out a yelp as you were practically pulled out of the way.
You walked around trying to find a way to get to a bus station and as far away from the building as a possible. A black BMW coupe screeched to a halt as you came around the backside of the building. The windows were almost pitch black, and when a man stepped out of the passenger side, you turned to try and escape but he had come up and grabbed your wrist to try and stop you.
You let out a yelp and pulled away, “Why is everyone trying to grab my wrists! It hurts!”
“Who grabbed you?!” Jongin yelled.
“I don’t think that’s any of your business,” you mocked back.
“Jongin…” Chanyeol growled as he exited the car, trying to calm down his soulmate.
“Not my business? I’m your soulmate!” Jongin yelled back.
“You don’t know that!” You yelled back both trying to get him off your back, and to attempt to convince yourself of what you knew was a lie.
Jongin sighed as he pinched his temple, “This isn’t how it’s supposed to be… Just come inside and let’s talk.”
“That’s not a good idea Jongin,” Chanyeol whispered as he came up beside his lover.
“She needs to rest,” Jongin insisted, “And we all need to figure this out. Please… just come inside and clean up ok? Let’s uhm… put some ointment on that.” He gestured to your wrists which you were now holding with your hands to try and soothe the ache.
The apartment was just as you pictured for two rich male celebrities. Sleek light gray walls with high end amenities, dark hardwood floors and floor to ceiling widows that overlooked the Busan skyline. The first floor seemed to house the dining room, kitchen and entertainment system, while the second floor looked to hold a dance studio on an open balcony and a closed off room. You could tell there was a third floor, but you couldn’t quite tell what it was used for. Probably the bedroom, you thought.
“The bathroom is in that corner,” Jongin explained. “We’ll just sit here and wait for you to get done.” Jongin said as he took a seat at an extremely long dining room table. You didn’t know why two men would need such a long table, but you also figured it was none of your business. I’m the mistake, I shouldn’t question what they do. It’s not my business.
You finished washing your wrists and just stared at the new “tattoos” that formed earlier that day. Once you turned off the water, you heard the men talking amongst themselves.
“What are you expecting to happen?” Chanyeol wondered.
“I don’t know,” Jongin deadpanned.
“You’re wrong if you think I’m going to accept this,” Chanyeol warned. “She’s going to ruin everything.”
“She’s our soulmate, Chan,” Jongin emphasized. “She can’t ruin it, she’s a part of it.”
“She’s not for us. She’ll never be a part of us. I’m never going to accept something like this. Have you seen her? What would we do with her?” Chanyeol almost pleadingly begged. “No. I’m not going to do this. I’m not going to be a part of anything like that.”
You tried to quickly make it to the door without them seeing you but right when you opened it, the ding of the alarm went off. Both turned to look at you. No one said a word but both pairs of eyes looking at you seemed to speak volumes. One begging you to stay, the other begging you to leave; maybe for your sake, maybe for his, you couldn’t tell. But you knew, the latter was right. You didn’t belong.
“Listen,” you began, “I know how disappointing it must be for your second soulmate to be someone like me. I don’t know you guys, but he’s right. I don’t belong here. It’s not you guys, it’s me. I’m the mistake. It’s just best if we leave it at this. Goodbye.”
You closed the door behind you as you tried not to cry. You didn’t know them, they shouldn’t have meant that much, but why did it hurt so bad?
                                                                                   ~*~
They stared at the door for what seemed like forever, until Jongin turned to look at his soulmate who potentially just ruined both of their lives. “You need to fix this.”

Hey! Wow, I didn’t expect to get so many people interested in “Etched Hearts & Broken Parts”! I’m sorry I haven’t been able to update, school has really been trying to kill me. But I will have an update for both EH&BP and TOS (The Omega’s Secret) by Saturday night (EST). By the way... do you like the title for EH&BP? I kinda thought of it on the fly (with help from my bff).

"Etched Hearts and Broken Parts" - Chapter 1
Tags/Warnings: Chankai x Chubby!Reader, mentions of blood, insecurity mention, angst
As you rounded the corner you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket for what was probably the tenth time. You didn’t know if your phone could take as much action as it had been getting in the 10 minute span since you left your house. You examined your poor little phone as you slid it out of your back pocket. It hadn’t been the newest edition when you first bought it and that was a couple of years ago. Being a videographer who could do anything when it came to television and filming, your slim little touch phone with all of its cracks and scratches had seen everything from hardwood, to concrete, to asphalt and everything in between, yet still the poor thing held itself together. It wasn’t that you couldn’t buy a new one, you had enough money to. You were just frugal and you felt like you and the phone had something in common. Broken, but still holding it together the best you both could.
You slid your finger across the broken glass thankful that after all this time, you had never been cut by it and dialed the number that had been texting you practically non-stop since you left the apartment.  “You’re going to kill my phone if you keep this up. What is it?”
“You didn’t give me a hug goodbye,” she said. You could easily picture the big pout that was spreading across her lips.
“I’m sorry?” you giggled at the random childishness she was showing. “I’ll hug you when I get home.”
“You didn’t give Xing one either,” she said matter-of-factly.
“Tell him I’m sorry I guess?” your awkward reply went up a higher pitch at the end signaling to her that you were uncomfortable with the current topic.
“So you’re going to come straight home after work right?” she asked and you could hear Yixing in the background immediately ask her what you had replied.
“Yes. I’m coming home, right after work.” you emphasized. “It’s just an interview it should be a really quick shoot then I have to put away all the equipment and stuff. I promise I’ll be home right after that.”
“Ask her if she’s going to be working the camera today,” you heard Yixing ask. Before she could even repeat his question, you began to reply. “No I’m not going to be working camera. Jongdae is probably going to have me doing all kinds of work with audio and directing but I’m not going to be on camera.”
“GOOD,” they both exclaimed in unison.
“What’s going on?” You asked, “Why does it matter if I’m going to be working camera or not?”
“Ummm… well….” She mumbled a habit she always had when trying to come up with some kind of excuse when she was caught doing something she knew was wrong.
“Your sunburn!” Yixing yelled, “You always start feeling really sick after you get a sunburn and you got one yesterday. So ummm….”
“We just want to make sure you won’t be standing up the whole entire time. You know…” she explained.
“You know so we don’t have to hear you complaining about your legs and back being sore while you’ve got sun sickness,” Yixing began again. “No one wants to deal with that. Ha. Ha. ….. Ha.” His laugh was more awkward than usual but you didn’t have any more time to argue with them. The strange conversation distracted you from how long you had actually been walking and you had already made it to the subway.
“Okay. You guys just enjoy being weird together while I’m gone. I’m at the subway, so I’ll talk to you when I’m on my way home,” you were about to hang up when you heard Yixing yell your name.
“Come home soon. Okay? We’re waiting,” he said.
You let yourself get pulled back into the nostalgia of it all, and giggled as you walked down the stairs toward the subway, “Yeah, be back
                                                  ~*~
“What happened to you?” You heard an all too annoying voice
“I don’t know, Jongdae,” you sneered over at your “boss” if you could or should even call him that. “Maybe my “boss” had me training a bunch of newbies in the scorching sun all day yesterday. Does something like that ring a bell?” You raised your eyebrow as you looked over at him, he was rocking back and forth on his tiptoes and whistling obviously ignoring your complaints.
You made your way to the brightly lit studio room and set your bag down to the side bringing out all of your labeled cables in case the camera operators. The studio was normal, nothing special really. A big room with a wall and floor at one end painted completely in white with three chairs in the middle, cameras docked in their rightful places at the other end, a ceiling covered in lights with some hanging down for more controlled light, and a control room off to the side; completely closed off so the ambient noise from the control room wouldn’t contaminate the studio.
You bent down to make sure all of the cables were labeled correctly, you knew they were but the double checking had become a habit.
“Here,” Jongdae said as he waved a tube of crème in your face.
“What is it?” you didn’t move to take the tube, you wouldn’t put it past him to sneak something in it.
“Here,” Jongdae grunted as he took your hand and almost smashed the crème into your hand. “It’s for sunburns. I bought it on my way here. I have a feeling that I’m going to get a call later from a very pissed off couple complaining that I’m a slave driver and giving my best worker a sunburn. Please tell them I got you this.”
His pleading look made you laugh out loud, “Thanks man,” you said through tears as you put your hand on his shoulder. You started making your way to the control room when you were stopped by a tug on the back of your collar.
“Actually about that… we’re down a few people because of the interviewees. They wanted as little people as possible and well… I have a floor manager and I’ll work all everything in the control room but I need you to work camera.”
“What?! Oh come on!” you huffed but you knew there wasn’t anything you could do.
                                                  ~*~
After 30 minutes of helping Jongdae get everything ready in the control room, the interviewer and floor manager filed in. Figuring that the interviewees were not far behind, you made sure that the two cameras (one on the interviewer and one on the two people being interviewed) were in place and made your way to the camera in the middle, which you would be using the most.
Just as you predicted, it wasn’t very long after that two men strolled into the studio. The taller of the two came in first. He wore a black button up shirt with white stripes going both horizontal and vertical, making a tick-tac-toe pattern, which was tucked into his black skinny jeans, and a black blazer. There was a wide black leather band on one of his wrists, and the outfit was finished off with a pair of black ankle boots. The other, just a bit shorter but not by much, wore a white button down, with a black leather jacket on top accentuated by large gold zippers, blue jeans and black pointed ankle boots with gold studs around the bottom. Their outfits matched together perfectly and accentuated the best parts of them – which was everything from what you could tell.
You looked down at your own outfit and almost guffawed at the stark contrast. You were wearing a gray bomber jacket with an alien patch, a rainbow tie dye tank top, light wash blue jeans with rips at the knees, and gray converse. The separation of worlds just by clothing alone was comical.
The men went to sit down in their two seats to the left, and just sat and talked with each other as the interviewer reviewed the questions a few more times. The floor manager came up beside you and leaned down to your level, “This is so exciting,” he whispered.
“I guess,” you shrugged as you moved from camera to camera checking focus, headroom, and all of the other things that were needed to make the shot look good.
The floor manager didn’t hesitate to follow you around while you were doing your last minute checks, “You’re not telling me you’re not excited that one of the top celebrity couples came out with a big secret and we’re the first ones to interview them about it?” He asked but you just stared at him with a blank expression.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you replied, “I don’t know who these people are. I’m just here to do my job.”
“You mean you don’t know –” he began to say rather loudly but you couldn’t hear what he said because Jongdae had stuck his head out of the control room and yelled for everyone to get ready.
You went back to your main camera and put your headphones on waiting for directions from Jongdae. When you looked in the view finder, both men were staring at your camera so intensely you peered from around your position to see if you saw correctly. When you did, they quickly went back to talking with themselves until the floor manager started counting down.
“We have the exclusive interview here with the most popular couple in Korea!” The interviewer began, “They’re with me today to answer some questions from their fans and also to give us an EX-CLUE-SIVE announcement!”
You had started feeling sick from your sunburn about halfway through the interview, so you weren’t really paying attention to what was being said until you heard the announcer’s voice cut in after the last commercial break. “Let’s not waste any more time,” she smiled as she turned from her own camera toward the couple. “Chanyeol, Jongin, please tell us about your BIG announcement.”
Your eyes widened and you stared down at your wrists, you could see it written there, as clear as the first day you saw them all those years ago. The two names written on your wrists that no one else could see, that for years no one believed were really there. Park Chanyeol, written on the left, Kim Jongin, written on the right.
You just stared at the marks on your wrists until you heard something that caused you to jolt your head upwards.
“So what do you mean you have a third soulmate?” the interviewer asked in shock.
“Well, it means just that. We have another soulmate out there,” Jongin said as he held his husband’s hand.
“It’s hard to talk about since we obviously have no proof of it, but it is true. We have a soulmate out there somewhere.” Chanyeol reiterated as he took his other hand and placed it on top of Jongin’s and squeezed.
“So are you looking for them? Why did you wait this long to announce news like this? Why did you decide to announce it now? You’re already married, how will this other soulmate fit into the mix?” The interviewer came at the couple with a barrage of questions.
“I mean we’re not particularly looking for them,” Chanyeol mumbled.
“We don’t really have all the answers right now,” Jongin said, “All we can say to the fans, to those watching is that we can no longer – in good conscience – hide that we have another soulmate.”
You were back to looking at your wrists after that not even knowing that the interview was over, it was like you were frozen in place. You were telling yourself that it was a coincidence, that maybe you weren’t the only person born with Park Chanyeol and Kim Jongin written on your wrists. That these two people, this famous celebrity couple you didn’t even know about, they couldn’t be your soulmates. They must have been someone else’s. Not you – the ugly, overweight, poor, useless, nobody. You looked up and saw the couple and the interviewer headed towards the door to the control room when Jongdae came out of the door waving his hands around.
“_________, what are you doing? Pack it up and go home. Did you get sick from the sunburn or something? Why are you just standing there?”
Your eyes widened with fear and your heart started pacing.
“____________?” your left wrist started to burn and sting and ache.
“____________.” your right wrist began to feel the same as the man named Jongin took a step toward you.
You turned on your heels and without looking back, without thinking, you ran. As you felt the blood start to trickle down from your wrists, as you felt the stinging of names being carved into them by some unknown force, you felt the tears stream down your cheeks because , your fears had been right all along. They were perfect, they were in love, they were married, and you were an overweight nobody. You had been left behind for the second time in your life. You were broken.

They estimate that it was around 25 years ago when it probably started, around the time you were born. Soulmates. Children being born, growing up, and telling their parents that there was a name on their body that only they could see. Teenagers meeting a stranger with the same name, hearing their own name said by the owner of the ghost writing, and tattoos forming where the invisible monikers once stood.
“Somehow activated by hearing your soulmate say your name” you remember one scientist said on late night television. It was during the time when hundreds of cases of tattoos on minors started popping up. “You’re children aren’t lying, they really do see a name on them,” TV Psychiatrists would say on the talk shows your mom used to watch.
Name. Name. Name. NAME. Just hearing SOULMATE made you sick to your stomach. You knew from the first time you told your mother. With the way she looked at you, the way she didn’t believe you, you knew. At seven years old, with two names written in invisible ink on your wrists… you knew that you were broken.
                                                                  ~*~
You grunted as you put your bag down at the entrance to your apartment. The bag was weighed down with what felt like 50 pounds of headphones, and cables. You shuffled off your work boots and slid yourself down to lay on the cold floor which might not have done much for cooling you down, but it still felt good. You felt your white tank top sticking so tight to you from sweat it might have to be surgically removed, your black, and green plaid shirt was splayed out on the floor almost giving you angel wings and your rolled cuff blue jean shorts (which at the beginning of the day fell about an inch above your knees), had ridden so far up your thighs, they might as well be underwear at this point. Being chubby and in the heat is never a good combo.
“Don’t get your nasty sweat on the floor, I just mopped this morning,” your best friend scolded as she walked down the hallway and stood in front of you. She was in her normal lounge at home outfit, a black t-shirt, and heather grey leggings. You were in direct eyesight with her teddy bear slippers, and you poked one of the bear’s nose before sliding across the floor and crawling on the couch. “Tough day?” She asked as she set your head on her lap and ran her fingers through your hair.
“We got a bunch of newbies who didn’t know how to work any of the equipment and the client was almost an hour late. Apparently, she was with her soulmate and lost track of time AND it was an outside set. In the Summer! Do they realize this is KOREA, it’s hot as hell here! I sat by Satan on the subway ride home!,” you scoffed and scrunched your nose.
“I can understand wanting to spend time with your soulmate, but still that’s no excuse,” she said the coolness of her hand felt good on your forehead.
You heard the chime of the door opening and instantly jumped off the couch and started making your way down the hall. “I-I’m uh, going to go and take a shower, I-I-I… I feel gross,” you called out as you ran into the bathroom and locked the door. Yixing got off early today, you thought to yourself as you ran some cool water. You felt your heart start to ache and tears attempt to come to your eyes before you shook them away and got in the shower.
“Where is she?” you heard Yixing ask. His question was followed by pots and pans clanging around and the sound of plastic grocery bags crumpling. While the bedrooms were sound proof, everything else in the tiny apartment wasn’t, and it amazed you how well sound carried from the kitchen, down the hall, and into the bathroom.
“She went to take a shower, she’ll be out in a bit. They made her work in the sun all day! I should call that boss of hers and give him a piece of my mind,” she rambled. You figured she had probably taken a seat at the kitchen bar like she always does. Since they met, she’s always loved to watch Yixing cook… among other things.
“Did you ask her yet?” He asked.
“No, not yet. I was going to but, it’s so hard to bring up. Maybe we should both do it,” she said.
“Eh… it might be… awkward if I’m there. But yeah, we should both ask her, since we’re both part of it anyways,” he said. “But not today. Not when she’s tired. Maybe this weekend?”
“Yeah that would be great,” she said, “I’m so nervous.”
I guess it’s time, you thought. They’re going to ask me to move
                                                                ~*~
“It smells delicious,” you said as you walked out of the bathroom still towel drying the hair on your head. The water was falling down your neck and down your cleavage which was made all the more prominent due to your sports bra. Your Harley Quinn raglan tee was damp at the shoulders, and your black pajama shorts were sticking to the inside of your thighs. You looked over at your best friend and Yixing who were just staring at you.  “What? Does it not taste good?”
“No, it’ll taste good. I didn’t let this one touch anything, so it’ll taste good.” He winked at you as he pinched your best friend’s cheek.
“Hey! I’m not that bad! I swear, if you weren’t my soulmate I’d-,” she caught herself as she looked at you.
“Will you stop acting like that already?” You tried to laugh it off, “You make it awkward when you do that.” Your attempt at dispelling the awkward moment only magnified it, and the same atmosphere continued all through dinner.
“I’m probably going to be late getting home tomorrow,” you said as you cleaned the last dish from dinner and made your way to the living room. They were seated on the couch, cuddling and watching tv, another routine they had acquired after becoming soulmates.
“What? Whyyyyy?” your best friend whined as she moved Yixing’s arm from her shoulder and turned from her spot on the couch to face you.
“Apparently some celebrity couple has come out with an announcement and now I have to go with a crew to film their interview.” You said as you bent down and looked in your bag of cables to make sure everything that you would need for the next day was there.
“But you were supposed to have the day off! We were going to have a girl day!” She whined again.
“I know but… my boss says it’s pretty important and we’re really lucky to get this interview. I don’t really have a choice.” You sighed as you zipped up your bag and made your way towards her. “I’ll ask for a day off after tomorrow ok?” You tried to appease her by ruffling her hair. “Listen, we have to set everything up in the morning. I’m going to go ahead and go to bed.”
“Goodnight,” Yixing turned around and smiled at you awkwardly.
“Yeah. Night,” You returned just as awkwardly and made your way to your room.
                                                                ~*~
“Celebrity couple reveal that they are missing a piece! Famous producer, composer, and lyricist Chanyeol and his soulmate, actor and model Jongin, formerly known as Kai claim to have a second soulmate!”
Yixing stared wide eyed at the television screen while his soulmate let out an audible gasp beside him.
“You don’t think, that’s not them… tomorrow. She’s going to…” just the thought of it shocked her and she couldn’t form any complete thoughts.
“It’s ok,” he said as he pulled her onto his chest and rubbed her back. He could feel the anxiety seeping off her and her heart was about to beat out of her chest. “Don’t worry. It’s not them, it can’t be. Don’t worry. I won’t let anything like that happen. I promise. She’ll be fine. We will all be fine.”
He reassured her but something deep down inside told him that he needed to do something. That they needed to do something, and fast.

The Omega’s Secret
Chapter 7
Warnings: Mentions of blood, death, I guess a bit of child endangerment (???)
“Here.” Yoongi said as he set a newly cooked piece of meat in front of you. Your stomach growled and you reached for the wood the meat was laid upon. When you touched it, you winced at the pain from your hands as they were still sore and throbbing. Suddenly, Taehyung sat on the ground in front of you, took a piece of the meat, and held it to your lips. You eyed him suspiciously and huffed at not being able to feed yourself, but when your stomach growled again, you chomped down on the meat startling him and making him quickly pull his hand back.
“Jeez, hungry much? Hyung, you didn’t feed her?” Hoseok said in-between laughs.
“She was chased by wolves, fell in a river, and couldn’t even shift. Food wasn’t really top priority at the time.” Seokjin explained.
“Hyung, food is always your top priority,” Namjoon snorted.
          “Shuddup,” Seokjin huffed in annoyance.
You were still sat between his legs and it was a mix of comfortable and extremely awkward but out of all the new strangers of this all-alpha pack, he was the one you felt that you could trust the most. So you decided to stay put.
“So what’s the deal?” Yoongi suddenly said as he took a seat next to Solbi. You felt Taehyung press the meat back to your lips and you took another bite. “Why were we taken from our posts? What happened to agent Park?”
“Yeah hyung, what’s going on?” Hoseok chimed in.
“And what’s with the hitchhiker – no offense.” Yoongi spoke again you looked toward him at waved your hand in the air signaling that no offense was taken.
Seokjin took a deep breath and ran his hand through his hair. Something you found oddly satisfying though you chalked it up to the weird feeling you had been having around the man.
“Wait, should we be talking about this in front of her. We don’t even know who she is – no offense,” Yoongi said again and you just stared at him.
“She’s fine, besides, she can hear a grasshopper fart from a mile away. Even if we went somewhere far so she couldn’t hear us, she’d still hear us,” Namjoon said which you just glared in return.
          I can’t hear a grasshopper fart!
Everyone’s eyes widened but you just focused on the meat outstreached in Taehyung’s hand.
“Well that settles that,” Sekjin said. “The mission… it’s been compromised,” Seokjin began. “The lion has  been killed, and that bastard has taken over. Agent Z and B are still undercover, no suspects them.”
“What about…” Solbi began when Seokjin took another deep breath and laid his hands on his thighs right by your head.
“Agent Park was killed…” he said.
You noticed everyone’s eyes widen at this news. Solbi just got up and walked away from the fire with Hoseok following behind her. When she had gotten quite a ways away, you could hear quiet sobs coming from her direction. There was a look of worry in Taehyung’s eyes as he looked up at Seokjin. You had no idea what was going on but you figured it had something to do with all the people that were killed in your pack. “That bastard” being Kang, a fitting moniker. You didn’t really understand this talk about missions and agents though. Who were these people around you? Some sort of spies? Working for some other pack? They might be good guys if they know Kang’s a bastard, but I’m not so sure yet…
Hoseok brought Solbi back to sit on the log by Yoongi who just rested a hand on her thigh as a form of comfort.
“What about the target?” Namjoon piped up.
“I don’t know…” Seokjin sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “When I found out I was trying to find the target when I saw her being chased by some of his goons. I couldn’t just leave her there so I took her with us. As far as I know the target is still in sector 7.”
“What do we do now hyung?” Taehyung asked as he looked down to the ground.
“Now we go to the capital and regroup. In the morning, we’ll take the hike to the village, I’ll make contact and we’ll get stay there a couple of days until we can get some cars and make our way to the capital.” Seokjin explained. “Let’s get some rest, it’ll be a 4-hour hike tomorrow.”
Taehyung helped you get up and you saw everyone go behind a grove of trees to start shifting. “Hoseok, you HAVE to shift! It’s going to be freezing tonight and I’m not having your cold naked ass trying to squeeze between us just so you can be naked. Give us a break you – you nudist!” You heard Yoongi yell from behind the tree and a following smack upside the head. You decided to go behind what you had claimed as your tree to shift yourself when you felt a hand on your shoulder stop you in your tracks.
“No shifting for you, you might not be able to shift back. And we need to be as low profile as possible.” Seokjin said.
You were baffled, Well then what am I supposed to do? Freeze to death?! It’s cold!
He looked deep into your eyes and paused for a second, you felt weird with him staring at you like that so you averted your eyes down to his hands. He startled you when he made a fist and hit and brought it down to his left hand, and you quickly looked up to see what he was thinking. “Right… if you don’t shift you’ll be cold. Hmmm… let me think. Ah!” He said as he lifted his pointer finger in the air as if he had just come up with the best idea he could fathom. “Tae! Dog Pile!” He yelled as he ran behind a tree. You stood there for a couple of seconds in astonishment.
What was that? Did I just witness someone loose their mind? You wondered when suddenly a wolf with tan and brown fur came bounding toward you with an evergreen wool blanket rolled up and lodged between his teeth. You thought it was odd that he would run so fast toward you until you realized that he wasn’t stopping. Suddenly the wolf pounced on you, wagging tail and all, and you could do nothing in protest except a slight yelp as you went down.
You struggled a bit till Seokjin, now shifted into his midnight colored wolf, came over and nuzzled in his side. Taehyung released the blanket as Seokjin grabbed it and laid it out beside where the both you and Taehyung had landed.  Taehyung quickly got off of you and you were in so much shock, you didn’t move. Then Seokjin stuck his nose under your back and rolled you a couple of times until you were laying with your back down on the blanket. When you finally looked up at both wolves who seemed to be doing whatever they wanted, it was like you knew exactly what they were thinking. Taehyung laid himself beside you and curled up almost as if he would be the one who would get cold during the night, and Seokjin laid himself on the opposite side. You were the middle of a fiery warm wolf sandwich. You leaned up in protest though both wolves set their paws on you and pulled you back down. You knew by that point that you had no choice and you weren’t going anywhere. When all of the wolves finally went to sleep, the others spread out in a circle almost guarding you and the two wolves from all directions, it gave you a lot of time to think.
Well, you didn’t really know what to think. In the past month and a half, you found out that you were an omega, a QUINTESENTIAL omega at that. You had met Kang and been targeted by him. You had met your high school teacher again only to have her and the leader of your pack killed by Kang. Your little brother and father had been beaten up. You had to live in hiding. You had to leave your friends and family to protect them. You were saved by a black wolf and were now in the midst of… what exactly? Spies? Some weird government order? What is with the nicknames and codenames and things like that? Was Seokjin, Yoongi, Taehyung… were those even their real names? What’s with me and this Seokjin person? Why do I feel so weird when he tells me to do something? Or when he’s around… or when he talks…
Almost as if he could hear you, he grunted and curled his paw to pull you closer to him, which in turn caused Taehyung to snuggle even closer for warmth. You looked around at the wolves and wondered if you could trust them. As you contemplated if they were spies or some cult or not you came to a decision. You couldn’t stay with them. When you got to the village, no matter how weird or almost painful the thought was to part from the black wolf, you would have to leave. You were going to run away. Again.
                                                    *   *   *
“Daddy. Daddy. It’s ok. I help…” the little girl pet the hair on her father’s head as she lay beside him. She couldn’t be more than 4 years old. There were tears falling down her eyes onto her little cheeks staining them red with the warmth of the salt water. She started singing a lullaby, you had heard the tune before but you couldn’t remember where. “Daddy. You said we were going to go swimming today. You promised…” she wailed as she put her cheek to her father’s damp hair.
You walked closer, hoping to comfort the girl, when you realized she was covered in blood. It was on her hands, on her arms, on her legs. You looked to her father and you knew. He was gone. Dead. The little girl was sitting in a pool of her father’s blood. You went to reach for her, to pick her up and comfort her when you heard a voice. You fell back and curled your knees into you. You were afraid. The person this voice belonged to. This familiar voice. It was…
You felt a dampness on your knees and as you looked down at your hands you could see it.
             Blood…

The Omega’s Secret

Chapter 6
“Kim Namjoon! You and your…. stupid… long… LEGS,” you huffed at the boy who was hiking on the trail a significant distance ahead of you. You were tired, your calves felt like they were on fire, your back was starting to ache, and you knew that if you didn’t get out of the sun, you’d have a face as red as a tomato when school started back up again. And bringing attention to yourself in your 3rd year of high school was not something you wanted. Especially when you had spent most of your 2nd year trying and succeeding in making yourself invisible.
This was supposed to be fun. In fact, if you remembered correctly Namjoon’s exact words were “Come on, let’s go for a hike. It’ll be fun!” But this was not fun, it stopped being fun at least a mile back and you were hot and sweaty and felt icky. As you walked the trail a little bit more you saw an overhang of rocks that made a make-shift shallow cave and you quickly perched yourself under it, thankful to get the sun rays off your face.
“What are you doin’ slow-poke?” Namjoon said as his head dropped into your sight. He was laying on top of the overhang which made his currently green hair fall due to gravity. Why your friend had an obsession with weird colored hair you would never know, but even though he was the son of your dad’s friend, he was in one of the socially higher ranked families in the pack; so he could afford it and his parents pretty much let him do what he wanted.
“Resting ‘Mr. Long Legs’,” you giggled as you slid down on your butt. “If that’s ok with you, your highness.”
“Fine,” he sighed. He jumped down from the rock and stumbled as he hit the ground causing you to burst out laughing.
Namjoon had always tried to seem impressive but truthfully he was just a klutz. Since meeting him, you were always afraid he would break something (or someone else to be more precise) but lately his clumsiness was kept just to himself. After wiggling around to keep from falling face first on the forest floor, he looked up and strode over to you and it was moments like these where you wondered which side was the real Namjoon. The Namjoon that changed his hair color more than he changed clothes or the Namjoon that strode up to you with this dark look in his eye like you were some sort of prey he was ready to hunt and kill.
“Joonie stop looking at me like that, you know it freaks me out,” you said as you stood up and retreated backwards to fall against the wall of the cave. He didn’t listen to your plea as he rushed forward and pinned you against the wall. “Get off! Are you out of your mind?!”
“You’re birthday is in less than a month,” he said as he brought his hand to your face. You suddenly felt his other hand graze your hips and move past your butt down to your thigh.
“Watch where you’re putting your hands Kim Namjoon,” you warned as you tried to move his hand. He did move it only to grab both of your hands in one of his own and slam them above your head. You stared at him incredulously. You usually knew what he was up to but he was acting weird now, almost as if he was possessed or something.
“Everyone thinks you’re going to be an alpha,” he mumbled as he looked down at you. He always had a height advantage over you but now it made him seem like a giant and you felt like an ant. “But everyone thinks I’m going to be an alpha too, so I’ve been thinking,” he smirked as he put his free hand back down to your thigh. “I’ve heard that people are expected to be one status but they get claimed and they change.”
“What are you talking about?! Get the FUCK OFF!” You screamed as you tied to pry your hands out of his grasp but it was no use.
“Mating, Miyeon. That’s what I’m talking about. God, I’ve always wondered what mating you would feel like,” he said as he ran his nose down the side of your neck and grazed his teeth on your shoulder.
“I don’t like you like that, so forget it,” you grunted. You thought about bringing your knee up to kick him in the groin but he pressed his hips between your legs before you could follow through with your decision.
“It doesn’t matter if you do or not,” he whispered as he licked his lips. “It’s not like you’re in a position to argue with me. Mating is mating. Whether a person is forced or accepts their fate.” You felt the wind get knocked out of you when he suddenly grabbed your neck with the hand holding your wrists and ripped your shirt in half with the other single handedly.
“Stop… I don’t love you… You can’t do this… it’s against our law…” the words you spoke were barely whispers due to the pressure on your throat.
“Who cares about law when I have force? Besides they can’t kill me. You’d be in danger if they did~,” he sneered. He licked from your ear down to the bottom of your neck and you could feel his teeth glide over the area where you had dreamed someone you loved with all of your heart would one day bite.
You could feel yourself trembling and his hand started to caress the inside of your thighs. When you felt his teeth graze the area you closed your eyes and tried to take deep breath to scream again, however it only came out as a sob. You whimpered when all of the sudden you felt nothing. No teeth, no disgusting touches, nothing. What you did hear though was a growl the sound of swift air moving and specifically the sound of an impact and bones cracking.
                                              *         *         *
“Namjoon, don’t threaten her,” Seokjin warned.
Snapped out of your memories that had rushed in without you noticing, you heard Namjoon growl and saw his eyes were turning red.
“Move Jin, just let me get a couple of good scratches in!” Namjoon grunted as he jumped up and tried to pounce you, but in a split second he was back on the ground with Seokjin’s hand on his chest.
Just try it, you mouthed. Your voice was still unable to make sound except for yelps, whines, and currently, a low growl that was coming from deep in your throat. We’ll see how long you can last before you tap out, pansy.
I’m a lot stronger than I was before, don’t even think you’ll be able to take advantage of me again, you thought.
“You will not do that again, do you understand me Kim Namjoon?!” Jin growled. There was an aura coming out of Seokjin that was truly terrifying. And the murderous stare eerily reminded you of the way Kang looked at you the day of your ‘status-ing’.
“I don’t know why she hit you Namjoon,” the previously cheerful man was now cautiously pulling Seokjin’s hand off of the man that haunted your nightmares since you were 16. “But I’m 3,000 percent sure it was entirely your fault.”
Seokjin leaned up and turned to look at you with warning in his eyes, which quickly softened when he glanced at your face. “You got your punch in, so no more,” he ordered, though the tone in which he had said it sounded like a request more than an order.
You nodded your head in compliance as you calmed yourself down. You had always thought that if you ever saw Namjoon again, you would definitely kill him, but seeing him with a bloody nose made you extremely content and you knew that you didn’t need any more punches.
“Yoongi, I’m fine,” Namjoon said as the sleepy looking man set him down on stump near the fire. “But dang, her punches are just like her brothers. Guess she turned out to be an alpha after all, though everyone knew it.”
You turned to glare at him when you felt a throbbing in the hand you had punched him with. As you clutched your wrist with the other hand, you looked down to see that all of your wounds had busted open and there were fresh wounds on your knuckles. You fell to your knees and huffed in and out to try and keep yourself from fainting at the blood that was now coming from your wound. Breathe, just breathe. Keep it together.
Since you could remember you had always been weak when it came to blood. I’m pathetic, a wolf afraid of blood.
“Now you realize that was a stupid decision don’t you?” Seokjin’s voice rattled you from your thoughts. He slowly reached down and pulled your arm so he could maneuver your position on the ground until your back was touching a fallen down tree log and your face was warmed by the glow of the fire.
“Yoongi, get me the bandages from my backpack,” Seokjin said. The sleepy man complied and grabbed a rope tied around a rock and slowly lowered some duffel bags that were hanging in the air. You went to try and pull yourself up off the ground, but when you turned you realized there was a knee beside your left shoulder. You felt another leg to your right causing you to be stuck where you were sitting.
“God, why do I have to get punched twice for the same stupid thing?!” Namjoon yelled as the cheerful man hastily shoved gauze up his nose, “Ow, Hoseok watch it!”
“Hyung, what do you mean you got punched twice?” the man with the puppy face said as he sat next to Seokjin.
“Taehyung, keep the fire going while I skin the deer,” Yoongi said as he handed Jin a roll of bandages.
“Kay hyung!” the puppy faced man said as he grabbed a stick and poked at the fire.
So Taehyung is a puppy, Yoongi is sleepy, Namjoon… well I know him already, and Hoseok is the excitable one…
“Her brother punched me too,” Namjoon explained as he held his head in the air. “Remember how I said I presented before my 16th birthday? How I went bat-shit crazy? Yeah I made some mistakes, she got caught up in one, and her brother punched me. Same spot too, but he broke my nose.”
“You’re telling me, that this is the girl?” Solbi asked a bit shocked as she came up behind him and smacked him upside the head causing him to groan again. “You deserved more than a punch, kid.”
“What are you talking about Solbi?” Seokjin asked as he put the bandages he had dipped in some kind of green mixture on your hand and started to wrap your hand up. You heard him mumble something to you as he was putting the wraps on, but you weren’t really paying attention enough to notice what was said.
At first it felt fine even a bit tingly, but when you felt it start to seep into your wounds you were seeing stars. It hurt so bad that you tried to squirm away but Seokjin’s legs held you firmly in place. “Don’t move around, I have to finish wrapping it.” But you couldn’t help it, it HURT. You looked up at him pleadingly, though you couldn’t see his face because tears were now forcing themselves out of your eyes. You knew you were a crybaby but this was getting ridiculous, but the burning and pain was too much for you to not cry… at least a little bit. He held your arm still as he finished taking care of your wound and then wiped away your tears and started petting your head.
“Solbi, explain. What girl?” Seokjin said as he glared across the fire at Namjoon who was looking more and more guilty and intimidated.
Solbi shifted her eyes from Seokjin back to Namjoon and reluctantly started speaking. “Well, Jinsin…. ummm… you know how Namjoon found out he was an alpha when he was 14?” Seokjin only nodded in response, “Well, he may have almost forced a girl into mating.”
“You tried to force a mark on her?” Seokjin said rather calmly, though the aura he was emitting said different.
“My hormones and pheromones were going crazy, hyung. I couldn’t really help it. Besides, I didn’t go through with it! Look, Miyeon’s fine! With a hell of a punch too!” Namjoon explained with his hands raised defensively with his palms facing Seokjin.
You didn’t really want any of this being said, but with your voice gone, there was nothing you could do to protest. So throughout the short playback, you had been staring at Seokjin, wanting to see his reaction. Though you started to feel guilty hearing all of this being repeated back to you. The guilt was the same as right after the event happened. Guilt in not being able to protect yourself and having to have your 12 year old brother come and save you.
You turned your head away from Seokjin when your guilt had caused you to realize that you had had been staring at him. He felt you turn your head but he still continued to pet your hair which you were finding deeply comforting.
“When your wounds are healed I’ll let you tie him naked to a tree as punishment ok?” Seokjin said.
Before you could even turn around to look at him, Yoongi placed a piece of bark in front of you with a piece of meat on it. It oozed blood and you felt like you were going to pass out. You gripped onto Seokjin’s leg for stability and turned away from the food to bury your face in the man’s thigh. Though you quickly shot your head up to look apologetically at Yoongi. You didn’t want the man to think you didn’t appreciate the gesture, but you just couldn’t stomach it.
“Looks like I’m going to have to cook hers and hyung’s,” Yoongi sighed as he picked up the meat from where it had been set on the ground in front of you.
“I can’t stand raw meat either,” Seokjin whispered as he patted your head three times.
“She’s bad with blood,” Namjoon said as he disgustingly sneezed the snot and blood filled gauzes out of his nose, which again made you queasy.
“Oh,” Taehyung said as he munched on his piece of meat while Solbi finally sat down beside him. “That’s weird for a wolf.”
“It’s fine,” Hoseok said, “Just because you’re a wolf doesn’t mean you have to like blood.”
“Ok guys,” Yoongi said. “Enough with the chit-chat. Hyung, I think some explanation is in order. We already know that you saved this girl from sector 2, but why we were called back?” Yoongi asked as he placed two pieces of cooked meat down; one in front of you and one beside Seokjin.
Seokjin cleared his throat, “Now that everyone’s here, calmed down, and paying attention. We need to come up with a plan.”
