Look at my eyes, Faye. One of them is a fake because I lost it in an accident. Since then, I’ve been seeing the past in one eye and the present in the other. So I thought I could only see patches of reality. Never the whole picture.

“You sure do expect the worst from me, don’tcha Faye?” A grunt forced it’s way out of his throat, having been more than content to just lie there on the couch for the afternoon but once his elongated body began moving for the first time in hours, it was less than ideal. Still, he stretched, hearing joints snap, crack and pop, he might’ve very well been that damn breakfast cereal. 

Hell, the only reason he bothered to move in the first place was he couldn’t stand getting nagged at. Click, click. Automatically, he tugged his lighter from his pocket, spurring it to life and lighting the welcome blaze. A cigarette was just the stimulate he needed to listen to any more of this.

“.....’Sides, I’d no intention of cutting you off.” Spike blew out a puff of smoke. “Only opened my mouth to yawn. ‘Cause it was boring.” He paused, a revelation seemingly coming over him and in seconds, he sent Faye a teasing little smirk. “Guess you were right about that at least-”
