Almost There is the song that I would imagine YN sung that captured Yoongi’s attention whilst dining at Big Burger - or at least, the acoustic version of this song.

It would have been the first song she wrote after giving birth, whilst in the thick of the chaos at the time and lamenting how close she was to her achieving her dreams. Whilst it’s a constant reminder of how close she was, she chose to perform it that night because it was the first time she had been on stage in years and her subconscious knew it was her moment to perform it.

I know everyone has different opinions about AI, especially when it comes to music, but as someone with absolutely no musical abilities whatsoever I’ve been using it this evening because I was bored and I wanted to see if it could make anything half way decent for Not Like the Movies.

It’s been fun to experiment and it has actually produced a couple of songs that I think fit with the story. Should I share them as like a playlist? Or nah?

Not sure if you do stuff like that but maybe some little something to your Nocturne story as a prompt? Don't know just a little side story to it or something like what happens a year later when y/n is coming back or what they do when Yoongi is visiting.

But I understand if you don't want to touch that. Otherwise I don't really have a prompt but I'm always soft for some Yoongi 🥺

Tbf, I wasn’t really planning on returning to Nocturne but you got me thinking about it. And once I started thinking about Yoongi, especially Nocturne Yoongi, a few ideas popped into my head.

I have drafted a quick one shot of Yoongi’s POV from when he first sees YN to the moment they have their first kiss (and him realising that she’s more drunk than he first assessed). I don’t think I’ll be ready to publish it for a little while as I’ll need to type it up and edit it and flesh it out a bit more, but I just wanted to let you know it’s now in progress.

Honestly, it might be a couple weeks until I’m ready to post (and that’s being optimistic - I have 2 weddings coming up plus a couple of days out planned with my nephew that’s going to take up most of my free time, not to mention work and visiting my great aunt in hospital).

As for what happens after the end of the story… I have a few ideas to play around with. But none that I’m fully sold on right now. It’s been an idea that bounces around every now and then but nothing I felt absolutely certain I need to write or anything I feel like that would add to the story at this moment in time. I might write something, I have a few ideas of where they might end up or things that happen along the way but right now that’s definitely in the “development” stages.

But thank you for submitting! It’s helped massively in getting the creative flow back. Just thinking of one idea ended up inspiring a few different ideas (I will never understand my brain) so fingers crossed I’ll have new content out soon and be back to working on Not Like The Movies in no time!

Also, I’m always soft for Yoongi. I find it so hard not to write him as a grumpy but incredibly loving guy, even when he’s supposed to be the villain (well, villain sounds so strong here - the ex 😂). It definitely doesn’t help that it’s also one of my favourite tropes and Yoongi has a special place in my heart (that gummy smile 🥺)

So, I’m thinking of coming back to writing by writing some quick one shots for a little bit as every time I try working on and updating not like the movies life becomes a little bit more chaotic 😭

I did not anticipate jet lag hitting me this hard 😭 I’ve only just recovered, which means I have a ton of life admin to get out of the way before I can even sit down to attempt to edit or write 🙃

I don't see enough people mourning over the slow death of physical media. And I don't just mean TV shows, video games, or movies--which don't even get me started about how we don't really 'own' anything anymore. It includes notes, journals, and letters to one another...so much of our history is lost when we lose a password, a website goes down, a file/hardware is corrupted, or a platform disappears. History that doesn't seem important until you no longer have access to it. Physical media does a lot for memory recall. How many memories will we lose because we don't have something tangible to tie it back to? Something to hold in our hands and stir up those memories we thought were once lost? Sometimes I wonder what the difference between burning a book and losing access to physical media is when someone can pull the plug and remove your access so easily.
