“I do apologize for this inconvenience.” Barbatos says somberly. “I have never been a fan of rats, and Devildom rats tend to be quite the vicious creatures. Do be careful handling that thing.”

“Children, hm? I cannot say the thought has never crossed my mind, but truthfully I’m not close enough to someone to consider the option.”

you find a mysterious letter on your nightstand. you don’t remember it being there when you fell asleep, and your door was locked, so nobody brought it in. you wrote it off as another act of magic and decide to open it.

we hope this letter finds you in good health.

this letter is your invitation to the devildom masquerade, a night of wonder and fantasia. much has happened in the time you have been here, and many things have come and gone. however, this ball is a celebration of you, being here, with us now. please, when you come to the masquerade, please wear a mask to hide your identity. it wouldn’t be a very fun masquerade without it, don’t you think?

we eagerly await your attendance.

So this is the Devildom Masquerade! Hosted by the one and only Maxie! ( @barbbatos / @lyriccl ). This is an event filled with fun, twists and turns, and an unforgettable experience. The only requirement to participate is as follows:

Your Muse(s) must have an Obey Me verse!

Other than that, go nuts! If you’ve ever attended one of my events before ( over at @aecorus ) then you will probably know how this will go down! But! I intend on making this a wonderful event that a lot of you will be able to participate in.

@lachrymosestorm​ asked: "If the Masquerade is to be, would you like some help?" A certain Human Exchange Student might be a little excited and hopeful over the thought of a masquerade ball.

A good-natured smile crossed Barbatos’ face, a gloved hand resting underneath his chin. “If you truly mean to assist me, how can I refuse such a generous offer?”

Truthfully, the idea of a masquerade has been on the demon’s mind for a while. He thought about mentioning it to Lord Diavolo, but things around the Devildom have been quite hectic lately. Now that things were beginning to wind down, however, Barbatos found himself with a free-ish schedule. At least, compared to before.

“Now, this was what I was thinking...”

Just another day of Barbatos being the perfect butler, he is.

@xamassed​ asked: Luke's going to peek over the edge of the counter and watch Barbatos work his magic in the kitchen. "I want to look that at ease when I bake."

A small chuckle escapes him. He can never say he was like Luke; young and naïve. Barbatos never had time to be like that, from the moment he was created, he lived to serve. He had to be impeccable every moment of every day, first for the Demon King, then for his son. Occasionally, he did mess up, and he punished himself harshly for it. Ever since coming under Diavolo’s service, though, he was allowed to be more lenient on himself and others around him, no longer having to expect perfection.

But he does not voice this, merely giving the angel a smile and stepping aside to let him help. “It does take time, I will admit. But once you are my age it comes with the territory.”
