Hi! My friends call me Benz, I'm around Toronto. I'm here to just post my experiences watching movies. Honestly, my best friend's girlfriend Vanessa said that I'm funny and that I should make this blog

La La Land
I am so sorry but it was not for me. The music was cool, the aesthetic was okay but it’s a not for me dawg. I googled the plot tbh. If you’re dealing with a ting, put this in the background

The Wrong Missy
I went to my friend’s place a month ago and “The Wrong Missy” was playing in the background. She highly recommended us to watch this movie whenever we got the chance and I’m very glad she did. I was expecting very weird/corny humour, but the unforced jokes were hilarious. This was a cute romantic comedy, and the story was refreshing and different as well as the dynamics of the characters, regarding their personalities and roles in the movie. I actually enjoyed Lauren Lapkus’s role since normally I cannot stand the “overly goofy girl” type of character. It was nice to see that she was like an exaggerated version of myself and other women as well; the girl who is dismissive, and enjoys taking risks to have a good time while keeping majority of her depth of feeling to herself. Initially, I was wishing they had casted someone different to play Tim Morris... but, after getting closer to the end of the movie their choice made complete sense and was very fitting with the one of the themes of the movie (to enjoy life and live in the moment). I enjoyed watching this cute likkle flimaz.
Overall, 7.5/10! If you’re looking for a good laugh with a friend or for girls night, grab a bottle of wine or order some eats.

Aquaman
DISCLAIMER: I am not an advocate for DC nor Marvel. I will not speak on things I barely know anything about. This is just a little blurb about what I thought and how I felt in regards to the movie. If you want to come for me just know I will not respond xo
Now that that’s out of the way; 10/10. There it is. This movie was so good, it brought tears to my eyes. Everything was perfectly executed for the most part. When it comes to presenting a backstory and a well thought out sequence of the story, from my own experience, DC really puts in that work. The hydro sonic sound effects were elite, 10/10 sound effects overall. The fight scenes were iconic. I was literally at the edge of my seat and ready for more. The pace was fast enough but not too slow which was great. I do; however, wish the jokes landed. I know, “not every day is seriousness” I get that but, the way some of the jokes were dropped into some scenes just wasn’t it for me. Why the dramatic pause and sudden silence? I’m not sure why initially I assumed the movie would have more of a Thor vibe to it (I find the Thor movies hilarious) but I’m kind of happy it didn’t!
Let’s get into the cast though, I think the entire cast was perfect down to the child actors that played the flashbacks of Aquaman’s past (tbh maybe Mera could’ve been played by someone else, then again I’m biased). ALSO... can we fangirl for 3 minutes about Jason Momoa’s fine self (sorry Lisa Bonet). One word: TATTOOOOOOOOOOOOS. I couldn’t have thought of a better person to cast as Aquaman, truly. In addition, I would like to give a round of applause to Nicole Kidman for being a baddie. DC movies for the most part I’ve noticed always have great female characters. The women are always portrayed as mainly strong, brave, and smart which I find refreshing. I’d like to give a standing ovation to Yahya Abdul-Mateen II cause he was MADE for the Black Manta role. I am so happy they gave him an appropriate amount of time for a snippet of his backstory and character cause let’s be honest; many black characters rarely get their moment. The ending scene promoting the possibility of an Aquaman sequel was absolute perfection. They better wash their hands, mask up and start filming. I was hoping, and praying, and wishing for a sequel so I immediately googled if there will be an Aquaman 2 and it looks like it is happening!
Again 10/10. I might watch it again later today.

The Possession of Hannah Grace
One thing about me; I get extremely terrified watching scary movies. Various types of horror, spookiness, will have me hiding under the bedcovers, avoiding my basement for a week, and unable to sleep at night. This movie however was more of a comedy than anything.
I had the pleasure of watching this movie via Netflix party with a dear friend, which made this experience a lot better because honestly this movie was not the greatest. Maybe a cute little spooky Hallowe’en bop for next year, but it just wasn’t it. It was very predictable; the character dynamics, the story sequence, the ending, the romance... everything. There were a few jump scares but nothing too crazy. I do remember one part of the movie where my friend and I were snapping because the characters were being SO DUMB while unprovoked, and the demon duppy gyal was just murking EVERYONE for fun. We couldn’t even feel a way about it because the characters were so fool! The usual scary movie stress where you say “DON’T GO THERE” or “Why would you go there?!” out loud. I will give credit for the inclusion of the mental health awareness of PTSD as well as drug addiction, it was decently executed. Also, shout out to having a female lead that’s not dripping in sex appeal in every scene.
Overall, 3/10. If you’re looking for background noise with your ting (love this for you when the pandemmy lets up), this movie might be it.

The Princess Switch: Switched Again
I know I know... but I was already watching it so I figured I might as well review it. I’ve seen the first one so why not watch the second one? Don’t judge me!
Anyways; this movie was a cute little holiday movie, I consider it like a grown Disney movie. The storyline was very predictable, corny and the trailers tells 80% of the story but, who cares? It’s a holiday movie. Most similar romantic type movies are predictable anyways and I think predictability comforts us in a way so it’s almost okay, or am I wrong? We do need to give Vanessa Hudgens her flowers cause she was giving us RANGE with the voice acting. She did that! The outfits in the movie were kind of cute, I cannot even lie. I was lowkey inspired to add a likkle one two to my wishlists. The music was cute; reminded me of when we could go to the malls (and not worry about the ronaz) and enjoy the cute holiday bops as you shopped for your loved ones. Hearing “Underneath the Tree” by Kelly Clarkson near the beginning of the movie reminded me of all those feels and actually inspired me to make a playlist.
Can I rant for a second though? All I’m going to say, is KEVIN NEEDS TO FIX UP... with his fine self. It’s wild to me that he was just trying to be the best baker he could be as he took care of his daughter, while accepting any type of foolery from Margaret. That man was forever putting himself through so much stress for no reason. Kevin was the CEO of Gyal Clown Inc. The ending verified this. If you do end up watching it, you’ll know. Eediot ting.
Overall, I give this cute little holiday bop a 5.5/10. Shout out to hot gyal Vanessa Hudgens. I personally might “watch” it again during cuddle buddy season for background noise but, if you’re looking a cute, corny holiday movie; this one might be it for you.
