All finished on the edit (05/01/23), I’ve added titles, credits, cut it down to 5 minutes and I’m very happy with the final look of the documentary. We have also agreed to change the title to “The Last Dance”, I have exported the film and it’s all ready to be submitted.

Pretty much finished editing (23/12/22), I have made a draft copy for Paige and Charlie to view and they’re both happy with the film. Now I need to colour grade it all, add titles/credits and cut it a tiny bit to fit the 5 minute mark. One thing we could improve on is taking some lighting equipment with us next time for the interview in the bedroom as it was very dark which made it difficult to colour grade in editing. But I’m still happy with how it’s ended up with a lot of time spend colour grading this scene and asking my family members time and time again ‘does this look better’? I think we got there in the end and it still works great in the final film.

I started editing our documentary today (20/12/22), very excited to get going on this and put all of our visions of the final look on screen.

Filming some additional footage with Sunny inside her home and outside in Louth (06/12/22), this was a very productive day as we will be using loads of this footage as B-roll.

Filming Sunny and other dancers at the Elite Academy of Dance in Louth (01/12/22) this shoot went perfectly and we got some great footage.

Filming the interview with Sunny (01/12/22) next time remember to book out lighting equipment as this scene was very dark when it came to editing and took me a while to get a satisfactory look to it.

Our first shooting day in Louth (01/12/22) in the morning we got lots of B-roll footage before heading to meet Sunny. The only set back was when a local ‘Ron’ came and chatted to us and put us behind 30 minutes, but he was lovely and I spoke to him about his military career for a while.

Sunny sent us some blog footage of her during the time before and after the injury. I had a look through all of it and made notes on the footage we could put into the documentary to help tell the story. There’s some quite emotional footage just after her injury which I think will impact the viewer and really help portray her emotions.

Myself, Paige and Charlie all went to Louth (24/11/22) for our recce of locations to shoot, we visited the dance studio (Elite Academy of Dance) had a look at Sunny’s home and the surrounding area. We met Sunny and spoke about the documentary and her story we want to tell.
