Final Destination Bloodlines spoilers so my thoughts will be under the cut. In short, spoiler free: perfection ruined by a single writing decision so bad it brought the movie from 10/10 to a 2 at best.

Warning: a rant below the cut.

Fuck this movie, the ending sucks, the first hour and 40 minutes are actually brilliant 10/10 stuff unexpected from the franchise. The characters are great and written amazingly, I love them, I never expected a Final Destination movie to make me ugly cry. Every character was very likeable and making them a family was a brilliant decision.

Taking the premise seriously was a very unexpected decision from the franchise and they made it work while still keeping an appropriate amount fo comedy. But not having any unlikeable characters to kill off was a great choice, deaths were taken seriously, there were stakes and you could feel them.

It was great drama you guys.

But then the fucking ending happened. Why oh why would you set up all the emotional drama, play things seriously, not have any comedic characters, set up so many connections and make the stakes and emotions so high...TO KILL OFF THE LAST TWO SRUVIVORS IN A COMEDIC MANNER??? LIKE WHY, EITHER MAKE THE DEATHS TRAGIC OR, I DUNNO, LET THEM HAVE THE HAPPY ENDING THAT WOULD FEEL DESERVED. They confirmed that Kimberly survived just let Stef and Charlie have it!

It's such a massive middle finger to the characters, including the ones that died prior, to the tone of the movie and to the audience's time and investment. There's no payoff, no satisfaction, no tragedy or happiness, nothing. Just confusion and frustration.

(While I think it'd be ideal) I'm not asking for a happy ending for the two, but Jesus Christ did you seriously have to spit in the face of the rest of the movie? Pull a Final Destination 3 if you really had to kill these characters, Wendy, Julie and Kevin were in a way less serious movie but they were respected by the writers in spite of that. Meanwhile this ending is somehow worse than FD4, it doesn't even have the bad CGI they just get splattered, they even messed up the pacing to have an inapropriate "gotcha" moment.

Great movie that's destroyed by the horrid ending, I don't wanna watch this thing ever again.
