it just gets a yikesss from me, considering the book claims even ecopoints caused public dissent, because of how it put, in the book's words, 'a permanent Overwatch military instillation effectively in their backyard.'

and it reminds me of that old phrase, 'to hell or to Connacht' (the province / state that Connemara, which is in County Galway, is in)

which btw is lovely! it's actually a nice and peaceful place to visit! it's also one of the few places here where irish is spoken a lot, too!

it gets me as much as 'university of dublin' - i haven't read the full thing yet, but this was another bit that caught my eye, as i was flicking through things?

there is no 'university of dublin'

there IS university college dublin. or trinity college dublin. or technological university dublin. or like half a dozen other places.

but oh man.

the author couldn't take two mins to do a quick google search? 😂 i know overwatch has a futuristic lean, so more than likely not meaning to emulate actual places... but daaaamn .... trinity college would've fitted so well there.

Had the deceased been a person of interest, he would've stopped in place, reprimanded the brute for taking such reckless action. Fortunately, the mission had allowed for such instances, permitted the use of lethal force, as long as they retrieved the data drive that they had been ordered to acquire.

With smoke trailing from the barrel of his shotgun, Reaper discards the spent weapon, grunting as it clatters and slides across the ground. Choosing not to bother sparing the deceased a single glance, he titled his head back to take in the sight of the grinning Samoan, bone-white mask giving nothing away.

"Are you quite finished? Let's get moving," came a rasped command, using his authority to coax Mauga into complying. Compared to the dutch scientist, the brute had been a trickier agent to manage, but death's executioner still tolerated him regardless. "There should be more up ahead. Leave no survivors."

tried a few lil games of qp. be grand, i thought. it was not grand. i got stomped in the first round of a tank game in particular, but we pulled out a win! plus i got potg so sweet <3 lemme share a clip of my fave moment from the match :)

A ragged scoff that belies his disappoint filters into the air between them. He would need to see who exactly had let this happen - and add their name to his growing list. "Through the front. They're already expecting us." The advantage of stealth had been lost early on when he had taken down a few guards patrolling the perimeter. If it hadn't been for the hatred he felt towards the target they had been sent to deal with, the wraith might've felt inconvenienced by his reckless show of force.

"Don't fall behind," he encourages, as his form begins to lose cohesion, turning to smoke as he slipped through the gaps in the door's seems. It didn't take long for the first blasts from his fired shotguns to start emanating from within.

"Unfortunately, it appears we don't have a choice for our preferences. Orders are orders, so how do you want to go about this? Direct entry through the front, or a more subtle approach?"
