Y’know. Killer Sun is kind of a sad character to me, in the tragic “thinks they’re free but is being unconsciously controlled by the thing they freed themselves from” way.

Killer Sun mentions that he receives a kind of gratification from freeing other suns from their bad moons. Savior complex? Dunno, but regardless, we can assume this was his solution because it’s what he needed to get out of his own situation. He’d have wanted someone to do that for him before he was pushed too far over the edge. The gratification is something he indulges in, by killing he is indulging himself in that gratification.

But also. He sees it as a service.

On the same note, he has issues taking orders from others, because his moon turned him into some kind of errand boy or other. This is something he thinks he’s doing for himself: doing services for others without being asked, instead of being asked to do it and obeying. Note I said he thinks, he’s doing it to reclaim that part of himself, to help other suns, to be what he needed in his lowest moment. But is he really?

Killer Sun is still doing it because of his moon. He is unable to truly move on, to achieve the ultimate revenge: to move on and heal. He is servicing other suns in a no-strings-attached way, which is better than being under a moon’s thumb sure, but the only real difference is that and KS is now being rewarded for it with that indulgent gratification. He is a weapon. His entire purpose is this. How different is that from being under a Moon’s influence, unable to let go of that trauma? Kinda tragic imo

It's a unique type of frustration when you agree that a character is deeply flawed but other people keep missing what's actually wrong with them and assigning them new flaws that they don't even have it's like free my man he did none of that. He did a bunch of other shit tho.

Moon-who-can't-talk-to-people is very fun to me. Love a sweet thing who has no idea how to make connections.

Catch him drawing a cutesy picture but he's got that toddler-level skill because daycare attendant. By the time he gets it to a potential new friend it's too messy to be understood and ends up looking creepy. Catch him wanting to join in on glamrock games but not knowing how. ends up stalking the game and leaving phantom plays, ends up looking like a weirdo and trying to 'ruin the game'.

Cut to Sun, very good friend guy, watching this happen and just screaming internally. Is it because Moon is somehow messing up his every instruction without meaning to? Or perhaps, because how dare the glamrocks not see how sweet his Moon is being!!!
