So here’s the plan.
Yeah, I mentioned before I wasn’t all too happy with this blog, considering I had… no idea what I was doing when I started out. So, why not make a fresh start? Things aren’t quite finished over there just yet, but things shouldn’t take all too long.
All my current threads will carried on over there. I am aware I still have asks in need of answering over here too; the plan with those is to screencap them and tag the appropriate people when I answer them.
So yeah! Thank you so much for the run over here. As I mentioned, nothing’s changing about Heinz or the way I roleplay at all. I want to keep my partners and just keep this thing going. Just starting anew, because why not? ]]
#last reblog here#i feel like mould so i might as well move completely#the thing with asks still applies by the way#i just haven't gotten round to them just yet#yyeeeee see you over there!#ooc

Now his hands were free, the man gave a little jog so he was a few paces ahead of the taller. At least he was friendly enough; a BLU medic that wasn't trying to gut him was a refreshing change.
His attention dithered from the man for a moment, instead kicking open the door to the medbay.
"...I accidentally ate a bit of a person once. It, uh... actually wasn't that bad. B-but I'm not making a habit out of it, if that's what you mean. A-anyway..."
No, he wasn't going to let that conversation sit. With that, the man outstretched his arms almost comically to present his location.
"Medbay."
"…. Okay zhen…" He sighed. Well He somehow managed to keep blood stains off his coat so he was sure it would come out. He wasn’t really all that worried about it he just didn’t want it seeping through to his skin.
Clearing his throat he shifted the bag so it wasn’t touching his stomach anymore.
"I do not really care vhat you do vizh zhe body parts. I have known of zhose zhat do fare vorse zhen collect limbs." Hell Tie was one of those that did worse. He didn’t care for working on dead things. It was no fun.
"Just do not eat zhem.."

It was hard to ignore the dismal tone of the sniper's words, no matter how tightly interwoven its connotations were. The meekness was contagious. It was essentially immortality, of course there was going to be some kind of compromise.
"Still," a bright smile cut through the silence. "It's not as if anybody's actually dying, right? Trust me, I wouldn't still be here after two years if that wasn't the case. Like, literally."
Perhaps his joke was badly timed. Fortunately, the announcement over the loudspeakers ended the medic's guilty train of thought there and then. His medigun of choice was lifted once more as the man came to his feet in anticipation, offering another warm smile.
"It's... Heinz. Just Heinz. What about you, though?"
All the while, Binh listened, hold on his gun loosening so more energy could be focused on his foot. The answer was to be expected. He did hope that perhaps, like an amputee becomes used to the slight pain in their missing limb, being killed repeatedly would have the same effect.
But hoping was wrong. Practical thinking was the go-to, no matter how pessimistic it may sound—and the sniper was not a pessimist by any means. “No, I get it.” Disappointed lined the sentence, if only a small amount. “The idea seemed too good to be true, anyway.”
He opened his mouth, wanting to ask another question when the announcement of thirty seconds rang over their loudspeakers. By then he’d lost his nerve; it could wait another time. “Thank you… did I get your name..?”

From his glass, he was bound to notice the tint of scarlet speckling the man's ears. Not that he was going to bring it up, however amusing embarrassing the German was. It was all rather hypocritical, however, as his nose and cheeks were soon tinted with a similar shade.
"...Are... you implying what I think you are?" A small smile perked up again, leaning in and setting his glass down. Almost empty... and it had only been five minutes; that was bound to have its repercussions soon enough. "Because I mean, after... well, this, I don't have any plans. I was half-joking about the treehouse thing. Half. You know me with money. B-but, um... are you sure you'd want to... you know?"
Fortunately, Heinz's smile of sheer excitement was soon hidden with the rim of his glass—so what if it was empty? It wasn't as if Matthaus would notice.
To that, his jaw tightly clamped itself shut and his neck slowly shifted downward, a light flush of crimson on his ear tips as the cup in the German’s hands seemed to gain a tighter hold. He allowed the shorter to ramble, kept his mouth shut and his embarrassed face down in some form of hope that his partner wouldn’t bring the change in skin tone up—mind you, talk of getting another pet allowed Matthaus to relax once more, snuggling into his hoodie.
"Of course ve could," he mumbled, hiding a smile. "I’m sure Jin vould love et too… could be zhe uh ‘family pet' so to speak. O-or just between us… jou know… because um… yeah. I—” With that he went silent again and simply swigged his beer. Bitter.

How to Write Dialogue
If your characters can say something with a gesture, have them.
If your characters must say something with words, have them.
Write dialogue so that who says what is not as important as what is being said. Characters are just vessels and vehicles anyway.
Interject descriptions of action, reaction, attention, indifference, pause, and encouragement to show the rhythm of the dialogue.
Have characters interrupt each other.
Have characters talk over each other.
Have characters repeat themselves.
Have characters stammer.
Have characters lose their trains of thought.
Have characters repeat themselves.
Have characters struggle with silence.
Have characters ask questions that have been answered. Just because readers pay attention does not characters do.

Don't spell it out.
One of the most common things I see in early drafts of writing is authors feeling the need to spell it out for readers. Stuff like “It didn’t make sense” or “That meant Martha had to be the killer” are sentences that make your reader feel like you’re coddling them. If you explained the situation well, then the reader should be able to understand what you’re trying to get at.
This is why villains tend to go on huge monologues; the writer fears that the reader won’t understand everything if she doesn’t. While there are some things that you might need to say just to establish something, most feelings and revelations shouldn’t rely on this. Show, don’t tell, right? Foreshadowing, good characterization, and description go a long way in leading readers to your intended idea, and they’re not lazy cop outs.
Aim for your audience to understand things in time with the character. Let them realize it with the character and enjoy the fact that they came to the right conclusion on their own. Of course, this is a double-edged sword. If you’re too vague, readers might be confused. Being able to do this - and do it well - is not easy, and it’s going to take a lot of work to get good at it, but it’s worth it. Practice it. Implement it. Your work and your readers will thank you for it.

Hand in Hot Ice
Awesome! :D
"This works because the substance is not "ice" as in water, but a different substance called sodium acetate trihydrate. Normally solid sodium acetate was melted into a liquid that was then supercooled to below its melting point. In this state, adding nucleation sites, like the crystals on my hand, rapidly causes the rest of the sodium acetate to crystallize."

"'Family', huh...?" A small smile spreads across his face, reaching out to poke the other in the side before scrabbling for the bottle. "Sounds pretty nice to me.
...And I changed the subject because I love seeing how much of a nerd you are," he smirks, sitting cross legged on the top bunk and passing the just over half-full bottle downwards.
Words interjected his guilty silence suddenly, averting his gaze all the while. “I feel like I should for for…well, this! I’m sorry, alright?” Shuffling again, he was about to reach for the bottle hidden in his bed (he need not comment on November—he already had some idea...

Words interjected his guilty silence suddenly, averting his gaze all the while. "I feel like I should for for...well, this! I'm sorry, alright?" Shuffling again, he was about to reach for the bottle hidden in his bed (he need not comment on November--he already had some idea of it's significance) before he comes to a halt.
"...Did you just say 'man'? We're you quoting Bones?"
There’s no stopping it; that hand makes it’s way to the back of his neck once more.
"There is… a strong chance I raided your alcohol stash. B-but the guy was persistent he wanted whiskey and I was gonna pay you back, I swear! No big deal, alright? I’m sorry…"
