Lae'zel's character and her entire situation at the beginning of the game becomes so much more funny when you find out she's 22. It makes so much sense. Imagine you're 22 and you're exposed to this dangerous toxin or chemical or something - but not to worry, you learnt that this can be easily fixed, you just need to dial 911 real quick. Common knowledge. Everyone knows that. You learnt that in kindergarten, it's up there with fire alarm drills.
But the people you're stuck with have no concept of modern medicine and when you say "let's go to the hospital" they will say shit like "i think they kill people at the hospital" and "we should ask this swamp lady" or "this guy over there told me about this homoeopathic healer kind of guy but he got abducted" or "this random bard wants to help" and "I'm not going to dial 911 because I don't want the government to know my home address" or "maybe we should consider a deal with Satan". And then a bunch of them KEEP consuming the chemical because it makes them "stronger". One guy might explode for unrelated reasons. You have a few days before this situation is getting critical and suddenly they're solving crime and doing general charity for the community.
And FOR SOME REASON you still try to help these idiots and you STILL want to help them get the cure even though they all keep insisting the "doctors" at the "hospital" might try to "kill them" and they don't have insurance. And you keep telling them to just. go. to. the. hospital. before the time runs out and you all die very horribly of a very treatable condition.
And also you're 22 in a foreign country and you're responsible for shepherding this gaggle of idiots who are all ranging anywhere from 24 to 240 years old.

I love how Horizon keeps throwing bigger and more terrifying machines at us with each game and yet I have only ever been one-shotted by that stupid dart gun on the Stalker tails and they do it consistently every time I run into one on hard modes
honestly fuck that machine and everything it stands for. sneaky panther-ass fucker

Knowing this website I can't be the only one who straight up picks new games to play based on the music
Anyways I'm getting Expedition 33 this week
#clair obscur: expedition 33#expedition 33#it's not the ONLY factor to be fair#but it definitely doesn't hurt#also unabashedly here to admit I'm 40% playing this game for Jennifer English and Tracey Wiles

if anything she'd have honorary citizenship in the Quen by sole virtue of being a Living Ancestor or at least the closest thing they got to one that won't try to actively genocide them
Thinking about how Aloy has earned her place among several tribes. Not as a "savior" or "champion" but an actual, average, everyday tribe member who completed the necessary trials to be a full fledged member.
Nora - Completed the Proving to officially become a Brave
Carja - Is a member of the Hunter's Lodge after completing the Hunting Ground Trials and becoming a sponsored Thrush
Banuk - Issued a leadership challenge and became a Chieftain
Tenakth:
Sky Clan - Completed the March of the Ten (climbing the mountain with a partner who returned with the flower)
Lowland Clan - Cleared the Valley of the Fallen (a revered site of endurance even if she didn't do the full 10 days)
Desert Clan - Participated in a Challenge to decide the Clan Leader
Marshals - Participated in the Kulrut where she jumped from above (after the Rebels burrowed past her position with Dekka) and slayed a machine in the Arena (the Slitherfang)
The Oseram, Utaru, and Quen are the only who don't have a "proving ceremony" or "coming of age trial" that we know of. But she does participate in two of those tribes' main way of life:
Oseram - Has participated in Delves and has scoured Old One Ruins for technology
Quen - With her Focus and pursuit of the Legacy, she is arguably the equivalent of a Diviner
Aloy could technically try to claim citizenship in every tribe except the Utaru. She went from an Outcast Girl to a Woman with multiple places to call home should she ever decide to retire.

My latest run in bg3 features a vengeance paladin based on Sabine Wren from Star Wars and I swear I did not think of this post when I was doing that
The Dungeons & Dragons paladin is objectively the funniest class because at first glance it seems like an artefact of an earlier age of the fantasy genre for which contemporary inspirations are thin on the ground, but then you dig into its thematic core and realise there are contemporary popular media characters who almost perfectly fit the mould, but like 80% of them are deeply unwell teenage lesbians.

6 eps into season 2 and Andor is by far the best show I've seen on D+, not just in Star Wars but across all of their selection
this is an entirely subjective opinion and there are no right answers, but if you disagree go do it on your own feed where I can't see how wrong you are

ok listen there's so many things about The Well that are stressing me out but the top one is the very clear possibility that there's more than one creature (one with the Doctor's group that supposedly went down the hole with the captain or did it really tho and one in the airlock with the other group)
and I think that's what I love about this specific genre of horror aka unknowable terrors - we saw it in 73 Yards last season and we also see it in other sci-fi horror stories like the Southern Reach series or even Welcome to Night Vale. you can't defeat it (not really), you can't understand what its motives are, hell you can't even understand what it really does beyond essentially just symptoms that leave people dead. the only winning strategy here is to survive long enough to find the exit and then get out and never come back and for someone like me (and I guess the Doctor too) who likes to figure things out or at least have closure this is so infuriating and it hurts so good

Vic Michaelis is Elmer Fudd but specifically Fudd as the artist self-insert in that one episode where they kept trolling Bugs by constantly erasing and redrawing his landscapes
Brennan Lee Mulligan is the Daffy Duck to Sam Reich鈥檚 Bugs Bunny.
Vic Michaelis, however, is another Bugs Bunny.

this is one of my favourite pastimes in act 2
but also a random quirk I discovered this run (in honour mode no less) is that it turns out if you have the boots that prevent you from being moved or knocked prone it also protects against that
shadowheart made it to the middle no problems because she had some spell running and I like to headcanon that now she thinks she's extra special
Just walking around that circle thing that's only visible once those lights are off - at the start of the Shar place - and everyone gets pushed back all the time. I reach the next side where I need to do the lowering of the lamps and wait for my party to follow, and Astarion just keeps getting pushed and goes "what in the wretched hells was that?". It went on like half a minute or so, him getting pushed then complaining then he walked into it again, I'm laughing so hard I'm sorry honey.
Of course I did not have the reaction time to actually record it, so no record of it, sorry. Maybe I'll walk around the thing a little more to see if I can get it to happen again.
