Stomping of boots; metal clanging; firearms releasing their payloads. A clash with the Enforcers was always a ruckus, never without bodies, or blood. Normally, with the capability to rewind time with your wits about you, mistakes could be altered- avoided even. But time flows like a river, and sooner or later, the current catches up.

The clattering and clamor turned to yelps and screams and scrambling of feet. "It Two Coats!" one voice shouted. A scream followed, a pistol responded, and a squelch silenced them both. The wounded or dead lay ripe for the picking, but only one soul dared to smell so enticing.

The River King stroked the whiskers of his moustache, his large form waddling to the not with a bullet lodged in his ribs. Wet slapping steps were halted with a low, devious laugh.
