RACHEL: We've been through this Jesse. While certainly some of this is up to fate, we can control aspects of our lives that could potentially help. I don't see what the problem is with drinking fertility tea twice a day.

KURT: I never called you stupid

KURT: Blaine and I had been together for over five years at that point - granted, not all at once, but certainly a lot longer than you and Jesse have been. If this is the pace you want your marriage to go at, then fine. But I don't think expressing concern and making sure you two have thought it out is some horrible, unsupportive thing to do. I will agree that my tone could have been better, though.

KURT: I know you apologized. But I need to know that it won't happen again.

RACHEL: You didn't express concern. You told us that we were crazy for making the decision we made. It was rude and completely dismissive of our feelings. And exactly the reason why I didn't tell you sooner. How are you going to be godfather to our child if you can't even trust us to think important life decisions through?

RACHEL: It won't happen again.

SANTANA: Listen Berry, I was simply asking your hubby a question. He's the one who got defensive asking why I even brought it up. I was just curious. I'm allowed to be curious, right?

SANTANA: Also, check the definition of blackmail because I never even asked for anything. I don't /want/ anything from you or your little Broadway house of horror. Again, it was just a question.

RACHEL: It seems like a very odd thing to be so curious about. He showed me the messages, we have nothing to hide from each other, and you were incredibly persistent.

RACHEL: That's what all blackmailers say before selling compromising rumors to the media. I get it-- Jesse and I are successful, and you're jealous. But you don't need to be cruel about it.

FINN: ... Right.

FINN: Different stuff. Any coaching gigs, gym instructor, agent positions, anything really.

FINN: Yeah, I do. There's just not much for me to do here and there are more opportunities in the city. I also have more contacts there than I have here, so it's kinda easier to network if I needed to. Might also take some classes and get a degree in education so I can teach on the offseason.

RACHEL: It's always a good idea to cast a wide net.

RACHEL: A degree in education? I think you'd be a very good teacher, Finn.

BLAINE: That's so sweet, Rachel. I really appreciate that and I agree we as the future of Broadway do need to support one another.

BLAINE: I would love to hear it. Maybe on a night when we're all free we can have dinner or something so I can hear it. Well, you have no weakness, so he has plenty to pull from.

RACHEL: Of course. Besides the fact that you're my friend, as inevitable costars in some future Tony winning production, we have to be on each others' teams.

RACHEL: Dark nights are generally date nights for Jesse and I, but I'm sure we could make an exception for you.

KURT: I somehow thought you were starting Jane Austen Sings in summer of 2021, so fair enough. I thought you were going to attempt to go right into working almost as soon as the baby was born.

KURT: It doesn't matter if it's the truth or not, Rachel. Imagine if, three years ago, any time you made a comment about my marriage I responded "Blaine and I aren't you and Finn."

RACHEL: Jesse and I aren't stupid, Kurt. We've thought through the timing.

RACHEL: I already said sorry for bringing up Blaine. But, for what it's worth, three years ago I was nothing but supportive of the two of you. If you had decided to start a family I would have trusted that you made the decision carefully and responsibly.

JESSE: Can we talk about this tonight?

JESSE: It worries me how much pressure you put yourself under.

JESSE: We can talk about it over the tea.

RACHEL: Of course, we can talk about anything. But I'm not sure what there is to discuss. I'm taking necessary precautions in order to start a family.

RACHEL: I know we are. But clearly we can do better. Constructive criticism is very important.

RACHEL: Yes. We have to drink 8 oz each twice a day for optimum results. Western medicine is only one road in the journey to wellness, Jesse.

FINN: Chelsea's generally kinda out of my budget right now, yeah. But depends on the size of the loft and amount of rooms.

FINN: Yeah, I'm really thinking about it. Nothing's 100% sure yet, but if I ended up getting a job in the city, I kinda wanna have a place to live and have that all set.

RACHEL: It’s a loft, Finn. There are no rooms. Anyways, I can’t imagine she’d list it for less than three million.

RACHEL: Is there a specific job you’re applying for? Frankly, I’m surprised you’re considering moving back. I thought you loved Philly.

JESSE: I know it's unfair. But we will get there. We are good enough.

RACHEL: We need to be great.

RACHEL: Luckily I stopped by my herbalist on the way to the theater, and have picked up a few new fertility teas for us to try.

JESSE: Definitely possible.

JESSE: We are pretty good.

RACHEL: Not good enough for a baby, obviously. It's completely unfair that teenage trollops accidentally get pregnant all the time, but it takes responsible and loving adults like ourselves months.

BLAINE: Oh god - you did? Thank you so much. It was a really fun interview actually. It was a nice change of pace.

BLAINE: I may or may not have watched one of your press performances the other day on loop for like a good hour. You are just incredible, but you know that.

RACHEL: Of course I did, silly. I make sure to get all your google alerts. As the future of Broadway, it's very important that we keep up with each other's work.

RACHEL: Thank you. You should hear the newest song we've been workshopping for Jane Austen Sings. It's incredible- Jesse really knows how to write to my strengths.

JESSE: I love you more.

JESSE: It's progress. Practice makes perfect.

RACHEL: I think that might be impossible.

RACHEL: That's true. But I already thought we were experts.

KURT: I just don't understand what your plan is here. You are going to be so attached to that child and I don't see you really being okay with long rehearsals and missing all those firsts for a show.

KURT: And I'm not saying this to argue with you or not show support. It's just that things between you two have moved very fast, but any time I've raised concerns to either of you, I've had my own failed marriage thrown back in my face as proof that I don't know anything.

RACHEL: I won't miss all those firsts. I'll have time before I have to begin working on Jane Austen Sings. And anyways, Jesse and I already planned on raising our children backstage.

RACHEL: In some ways, yes, Jesse and I have moved fast. But in other ways it's been an incredibly long time in the making. And of course you know lots of things, but, for better or for worse, Jesse and I are not you and Blaine. It's not a judgement, it's just the truth. You've had a different experience, and I don't think it should dictate our own decisions.
