OUR CONTENT SHOULD BE OPTED OUT OF AI TRAINING BY DEFAULT!

Hi, Tumblr. It’s Tumblr. We’re working on some things that we want to share with you. 

AI companies are acquiring content across the internet for a variety of purposes in all sorts of ways. There are currently very few regulations giving individuals control over how their content is used by AI platforms. Proposed regulations around the world, like the European Union’s AI Act, would give individuals more control over whether and how their content is utilized by this emerging technology. We support this right regardless of geographic location, so we’re releasing a toggle to opt out of sharing content from your public blogs with third parties, including AI platforms that use this content for model training. We’re also working with partners to ensure you have as much control as possible regarding what content is used.

Here are the important details:

We already discourage AI crawlers from gathering content from Tumblr and will continue to do so, save for those with which we partner. 

We want to represent all of you on Tumblr and ensure that protections are in place for how your content is used. We are committed to making sure our partners respect those decisions.

To opt out of sharing your public blogs’ content with third parties, visit each of your public blogs’ blog settings via the web interface and toggle on the “Prevent third-party sharing” option. 

For instructions on how to opt out using the latest version of the app, please visit this Help Center doc. 

Please note: If you’ve already chosen to discourage search crawling of your blog in your settings, we’ve automatically enabled the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.

tumblr has an AI toggle you should turn on to prevent your work being shared with training models/etc! it's under settings & visibility.

They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.

What do you mean Mondo & Fukawa didn't become the most aesthetically pleasing and personality wise interesting canon couple in danganronpa?

UPDATE #2 So I tried to figure out the cheapest possibility, but unfortunately the prices are really steep. (and keep getting worse because of the economy in Finland at the moment) Inside Finland I could post and sell these for a pretty fair price; keychain price + shipping could be like 10€. But shipping becomes insanely pricy if it's anywhere outside of Europe (even to countries in Europe the prices can be pretty bad). Especially North America is really bad with it's about 15-25€ for just shipping. I feel like it would be impossible to even consider people buying a keychain for like 5€ and then having to also pay like 20€ for shipping. I'm sure most would feel that it's not worth the price (understandably).😞

UPDATE! Test keychains arrived finally! (there was two delays in the shipping so that’s why it took so long 🙈) I need to work out how to sell these in a online store and then I have the huge hurdle of seeing how shipping, customs and taxes will work and cost. Thankfully I have help with it all, but it might take a while that everything is figured out and put up. But for now I can’t yet say what the price would be because of the customs, taxes & shipping, but I’ll obviously try to see what would be the cheapest alternatives!

I’m thinking of ordering max 50 keychains. (maybe less, as there wasn’t that much demand for it and I don’t want too many left overs) 🤔

I finally made a color version of this chibi drawing! At one point people showed interest in having this as a keychain. I'm seriously thinking about making this in to one, but then it would have to be pre-order type of thing. But before that I'd like to know if there even is any interest in this.
