"Writing laudatory texts about Sergei Bobrovsky is already mainstream. But what difference does it make if this person can really be admired endlessly?

Bobrovsky is a robot. And this is not an insult, but a real compliment. For years, he has been building an ideal lifestyle in which hockey occupies a central place. Of course, family always comes first — Sergei has two nice children growing up. But the family knows that hockey is everything to him. They say his wife Olga takes the dorado out of the oven at exactly 14:10 — as her husband asks. Not a minute later.

Two Stanley Cups. Two Vezinas. Career SV is 91.4%. World Cup gold and the prize for the best goalkeeper. A steady 55-65 matches per season in an era when there were almost no such goalkeepers left. In the top 10 in terms of wins in history. And he is about to overcome the milestone of 800 matches played.

Would you say it's a talent? No, it's ABSOLUTELY HARD WORKING.

These are off-season workouts for eight hours a day. That's decades of daily self-improvement. This is a lot of completed training camps, hundreds of hours with different coaches. It's a "don't want to" turned into a "must." At some point, discipline becomes a way of life, and then training becomes a celebration. But it takes years to get there.

Mental work is an equally important part. A few years ago, Bobrovsky was mixed up with mud. In America, his contract with Florida was called the worst in history. In Russia, they shouted: "He got millions and relaxed." Sergei always kept calm and confident, answering uncomfortable questions. But behind this outward composure there is a colossal inner work. It's hard to endure several years under such pressure.

He will definitely be in the Hockey Hall of Fame. He is already one of the strongest goalies in the history of Russian and Soviet hockey. And he has at least one more season ahead of him at Florida, a contract until 2026.

All this, of course, is impressive. But the most important thing is that Sergei Bobrovsky is an amazing person. Kind, sensitive, well-mannered, responsive, hardworking and honest. There are very few such people in real life. I am incredibly proud to have the honor of knowing him.

This is the person you want to look up to. Which is impossible not to admire.
