Chan stood in front of the glass door with the closed sign, his phone glowing faintly as he texted Taeyong. He needed a minute to come to terms with the information of y/n leaving and having to do something as atrocious as sacrificing her own freedom of choice to save him.

He hit his head slightly against the door and it rattled with the shift of weight on it. He sighed and pulled back, turning to leave only to be met by a woman in a fluffed up black gown behind him.

"Hello Christopher." The woman smiled at him, her eyes shining like a pair of jewels.

"Hello Mrs. Lee." He greeted the owner of the shop, bowing slightly. "Is y/n here?"

"Is my niece giving you a hard time?" She asked with a smile after he begrudgingly nodded. "Come along, she must be in the middle of packing."

The woman lead him through the dark shop to the back door which lead to the upstairs apartment. She tried to give Chan directions to her niece's room but the boy was well on his way; unsurprisingly to her.

He found the door to y/n's room slightly ajar, the cloud lamp and some candles providing light. A very faint sound came from the room and his sensitive hearing picked up Hozier playing in the background, some sniffling following suit. With a deep breath he knocked on the door and opened it now so that he could step through.

"I'll be done soon aunty, I just need to figure out what I need more." Y/N said, wiping at her cheeks as she spoke. She waited for an answer but got nothing, so she turned around to face her aunt who she thought had walked in. "What are you doing here? How did you get in?"

"Your aunt let me in." Chan spoke up, observing the girl with the very prominent red eyes. "I'm sorry."

"What?" She was confused, placing the piece of clothing in her hands on the bed.

"I'm sorry for everything I said through the texts. I didn't mean it when I said you're a freak. You're nowhere near it. You're too magnificent for it." He blabbed out, fidgeting with his fingers as she stayed silent. "I..."

A silence fell between them, the man barely able to keep his hands calm. It was a shock when y/n took hold of them and brought his attention to her. Loose strands fell around her face as the bun on her head looked worn out just as much as she was.

"Thank you for apologizing." She said, her voice trembling a bit. "I'm also sorry about calling you a problem. You're not. And you never will be."

"Please don't leave." He whispered out, now him gripping her hands. "Please don't go."

"Channie, it's a bit late for that." A tear slipped down her face. "I cannot go back on this. I don't want your freedom to be taken from you."

"I don't care about that. I don't want you to feel obliged you have to sacrifice something to keep me safe. What's the worst lizard man can do?"

"Take you away and keep you locked up until you decide to become the new Golden Dragon, make you have relations with like a 100 girls at least to continue the blood line and have you shunned from the world."

"Like you? Though the girls will be just Changbin?"

"How do you know about that?" Y/N was entirely confused until realization finally hit her. "Tae you fucking blabbermouth." She took a deep breath and looked straight at Chan. "Listen Chan, remember when I read your fortune and said ours are entwined?"

"Yes."

"Everything was set in motion when I read your fortune, I saw your dragon slumbering inside you, the possible future you will face through meeting Lee Hyun Woo and how it would end." Tears began forming in her eyes. "Fortunes change Chan, and I want to change yours because you deserve a life of freedom, as a human."

"But I don't want you to sacrifice anything for it." He whispered out, hugging her strongly, he himself trying to hold back his tears. "I like you too much to let you go and become some old crone thing."

"You don't even know me to like me that much." She laughed into his shoulder.

"I know you like sweets more than air and that you always wear thigh high socks because you think it makes your short legs look cuter." He said, earning a full blown laugh from her. "I know you'd kill for your friends and do anything to protect them."

"What's my favorite color?" She asked.

"Dark green, it's the only other color you have from black or white."

"Smart ass." She punched him in the side, doing absolutely no damage to him. "I can't back out now Chan. It's too late for that." She sighed, pulling back to look at him. "We're leaving at first light in the morning. Our presence is required."

"Is there truly no other way?"

"Unfortunately not." She shrugged her shoulders. "I have to finish packing."

"Can I help?" He asked, moving towards her closet.

"Sure, you can help me chose the underwear for my supposed coupling night." She giggled when he made a gagging sound.

"Gross. I don't want to do that for another man's pleasure."

The two continued joking around, evading the impending doom of the witches leaving with witty jabs at each other.

Unbeknownst to them, Ji-Eun stood next to the slightly open door of her niece's room with her phone in her hands a harsh look of determination on her face.
